This exemption has been granted to permit Launceston City Mission Inc to recruit and employ a female or male Youth Mentor to work with ‘at-risk’ female or male youth aged between 13-25 years, in a mentoring role as part of Launceston City Mission’s KidShed and The Mish youth programs on the basis that the recruitment and appointment is for the purposes of:

a) providing one-on-one mentoring for ‘at-risk’ youth, helping young people overcome issues that lead to social exclusion; helping young people re-engage with the education system and liaise with other support agencies;

b) providing mentoring and facilitation of the KidShed and The Mish programs provided by Launceston City Mission Inc;

c) providing gender-appropriate support services to young people, who seek the assistance of a Youth Mentor of a particular gender due to cultural and/or emotional needs; and

d) ensuring that Launceston City Mission Inc has both a male and female Youth Mentor available to work with the at-risk youth in its KidShed and The Mish programs.

Granted on the 6th day of May 2015.

The exemption is for the period of three years subject to the fulfilment of the conditions that Launceston City Mission Inc:

I, PETER CARL GUTWEIN, Minister for Planning and Local Government, hereby give notice that I have issued a planning purposes notice that relates to the Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2015, in accordance with section 30EA(2) of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act).

The planning purposes notice allows for various local provisions to override relevant common provisions in Planning Directive No. 1 – The Format and Structure of Planning Schemes, Planning Directive No. 4.1 – Standards for Residential Development in the General Residential Zone, and Planning Directive No. 5 – Bushfire-Prone Areas Code.

Declaration of the Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2015

I, PETER CARL GUTWEIN, Minister for Planning and Local Government, hereby give notice on this day that I have declared the draft Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2014 to be the Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2015, in accordance with section 30F of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act).

The Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2015 will come into operation on 20 May 2015. Under section 30F(5) of the Act, the Hobart Interim Planning Scheme 2015 applies to the City of Hobart municipal area, excluding the area covered by the Sullivans Cove Planning Scheme 1997. The City of Hobart Planning Scheme 1982 and the Battery Point Planning Scheme 1979 cease to have effect on 20 May 2015.

GENERAL PURPORT OR EFFECT OF THE ABOVEMENTIONED STATUTORY RULES

(1) Explosives Amendment Regulations 2015

These regulations amend the Explosives Regulations 2012 by clarifying that a person is not required to hold a shot-firing permit when using Type 2 fireworks in accordance with a fireworks display permit.

(2) Poisons Amendment Regulations 2015

These regulations amend the Poisons Regulations 2008 by adding certain substances to the list of substances of which the prescription, sale or supply without authorisation is prohibited.

(3) Proclamation under section 2 of the State Grants Commission Amendment Act 2015

This proclamation fixes 15 May 2015 as the day on which the State Grants Commission Amendment Act 2015 com-mences.

(4) State Service (Restructuring) Order (No. 2) 2015

This order amalgamates with the Department of Premier and Cabinet the parts of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment consisting of the Service Tasmania shops, the Shop Operations Group and the Integrated Tasmanian Government Contact Centre.

(5) Electricity Supply Industry Concession Amendment Order 2015

This order amends the Electricity Supply Industry Concession Order 2013 by –

(a) changing the name of the medical cooling concession referred to in the order to the medical cooling or heating concession; and

(b) extending that concession to persons who require heating of residential premises for medical purposes; and

(c) prescribing that the surviving spouse, of a deceased person who was eligible for a concession in respect of electricity supplied to residential premises, is eligible for that concession in certain circumstances; and

(d) altering the concession payable in respect of left ventricular assist devices.
