BUK Distributes 37 New Brand Vehicles To Deans,
Directors
he Management of Bayero University has commenced
distribution of 37 brand new vehicles to Deans and Directors
to facilitate the discharge of their duties.
The university, having recently made giant strides on infrastructural
development, manpower development and provision of facilities,
resolved to acquire the vehicles for the Deans and Directors in its
quest for better output, while they would surrender the ones at their
possession for onward allocation to other deserving officers.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Hafiz

Abubakar Adamu Rasheed mni, MFR while making formal
announcement on the purchase of the vehicles shortly before the
distribution of the first phase of 18 vehicles on Tuesday 25th
November, 2014 at the Senate Chamber, said in the last 30 to 35
years this was the second time newly acquired branded vehicles
were distributed to the management staff.
Professor Hafiz said the ‘Ford brand’ vehicles, were purchased with
the internally generated revenue with which the university is
executing other projects such as roads network upgrade,
construction of theaters etc,
saying that the management
had set up a four-man
committee headed by the
ASUU National President,
Dr. Nasiru Fagge for the
sourcing of the vehicles.
The committee he said gave
alternatives to the
management and Ford
brand was selected.
He said the university
management had resolved
to continue the purchase of
vehicles and other facilities
considered important,
urging the Deans and
Directors who have other
vehicles in their possession
to hand them over to the
Director of Security.
The Deputy Vice
Chancellor said the
company which supplied
the vehicles had agreed to
service them for a four-year
period free of charge,

Corrigendum
In the 44th
edition of the Bulletin dated 10th
October, 2014, page 3, we erroneously credited
to Professor Auwal Abubakar the contents of a
piece titled: “Insurgency: New Campus Chief
Imam Cautions Muslims to Sensitize Minds.”
The correct thing is that the content of the piece
was presented as part of the Eid-el-Kabeer
Sermon (Khutba) by Prof. Muhammad Kabir
Yunus not Professor Muhammad Auwal
Abubakar. We express our appreciation to Prof.
M. A. Abubakar for drawing our attention to the
error, which is regretted.
