A group of teachers and students from Chiangmai University visited our Network Operation and Internet Data Center

KSC Commercial Internet Co., Ltd. a full-function Internet

and business solutions provider, welcomed a group of

teachers and students from Chiangmai University to visit

our network operation center. KSC presented our core

network system that connects to domestic network and

international network via Internet gateway. The group

also visited KSC Internet Data Center, where we provided

server hosting, server co-location, web hosting, email server

installation and maintenance and domain name registration

service at Jeneva Building, Muang Thong Thani.

ท�าให้แต่ละองค์กรมีนโยบายและแนวทางการด�าเนินการ เพื่อบรรเทาปัญหาโลกร้อนโดยการใช้ทรัพยากรให้คุ้มค่าที่

ปฏิบัติการ และโปรแกรมต่างๆ ได้อย่างอิสระ รวมทั้งมีประสิทธิภาพและความปลอดภัยสูง

2. บริการ Centralized Log Hosting คือบริการพื้นที่จัดเก็บและบริหารจัดการข้อมูลจราจรทางคอมพิวเตอร์ (Log

File) ด้วยระบบที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูง สามารถเลือกใช้งานตามปริมาณพื้นที่ที่ใช้เก็บข้อมูลจราจรขององค์กร

3. บริการ Virtual Desktop คือบริการ Desktop เสมือนที่ท�าให้ผู้ใช้งานสามารถอัพโหลด และดาวน์โหลดข้อมูลด้วย

ความเร็วสูงจากสถานที่อื่นๆ ได้ โดยไม่จ�าเป็นต้องเดินทางไปยัง Internet Data Center ของ KSC ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ที่ได้มี

การฝากเซิร์ฟเวอร์เอาไว้

นอกจากบรกิารข้างต้น เคเอสซยีงัน�า Concept ของ Cloud Computing มาใช้ภายในองค์กรเมือ่ปีทีผ่่านมา ซึง่ช่วยลดการใช้พลงังาน

เพื่อเป็นตัวขับเคลื่อนในการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมไปได้กว่า 50% ดังนี้

1. มีการใช้พลังงานลดลงถึง 50%

2. ปริมาณการใช้ Rack Server ลดลงถึง 50%

3. จ�านวนของ Physical Server ลดลงถึง 60%

4. จ�านวนของ Cable ส�าหรับ Server (Power + LAN) ลดลงถึง 50%

5. ลดการลงทุนในการซื้อ Server ในแต่ละปี

พลังงานสูงสุดแต่มีผลกระทบกับสิ่งแวดล้อมน้อยที่สุด ทั้งการออกแบบ

การค�านวณจะเน้นศูนย์กลางข้อมูลสีเขียวรวมถึงเทคโนโลยีขั้นสูงและ

ยุทธศาสตร์ต่างๆ เช่น

see which technologies conserve environment and how.

Knowing Green Technology

When we say “technology”, one may think about applications that

help developing work or knowledge. This is because the green IT is

an evolution, process and device that manage, edit and adjust the

product to make it works smoothly- as a result, the device operation

is more clean.

Green Computer

Green Computer- is the computer system that has been designed to

sustain environment and resources. It includes high-capacity CPU,

servers and accessories that save resource and control electronic

waste. (e-Waste)

• Reduce the energy consumption of CPU and accessories that

are not in operation.

• Reduce energy allocated to accessories that don’t take much

time to operate such as a laser printer.

• Choose Liquid-Crystal-Display (LCD) instead of Cathode-Ray-

Tube (CRT.)

• If possible, use a laptop computer, since it consumes less

energy than the desktop one.

• Turn to Power-management features to automatically turn

off components such as monitors and hard drives after set

periods of inactivity.

• Use as little paper as possible. Recycle it, if possible.

• Reduce power consumption of computer workstation, server,

network and data center.

Green Data Center

A green data center is a repository for the storage, management,

and dissemination of data in which the mechanical, lighting,

electrical and computer systems are designed for maximum energy

efficiency and minimum environmental impact. The construction

and operation of a green data center includes advanced

technologies and strategies. Here are some examples:

• The use of low-emission building materials such as carpets

• Sustainable landscaping

• Waste recycling

IT and its impact on environment.

Do you know that our computers can damage the environment?-

It might not affect much when you are using it. However, we keep

updating and enhancing its capacity until it reach its lifespan-

it’s nothing but heavy metal that could be sold for some money.

However it remaining is a metal that is not biodegradable and

cause pollutions and damage the environment as a computer

consists of plastic, aluminum, galvanized iron, etc.

Today, some manufacturers has innovated bamboo computer

accessories such as keyboard, monitor, mouse or laptop

computer. Many department stores encourage their customer

to use a cloth bag instead of a plastic bag which is difficult to

recycle- this help stop global warming. There are also campaigns

that ask people to turn off an air-conditioner and stop engine

when park your vehicles. There are hundreds other ways to save

this world which you can take action today.

ปัจจุบันมีผู้ใช้งานได้คิดประดิษฐ์น�าเอาไม้ไผ่เข้ามาเป็นส่วนประกอบกับ

อุปกรณ์เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ เช่น คีย์บอร์ด หน้าจอมอนิเตอร์ เมาส์ หรือ

เครือ่งคอมพวิเตอร์โน้ตบุก๊ หรอืเดีย๋วนีถ้งุพลาสตกิทีเ่ราใส่ของกย่็อยสลาย

ยาก จนบางห้างสรรพสินค้ารณรงค์ให้ใช้ถุงผ้าแทนการใช้ถุงพลาสติก

เพื่อลดการเปิดปัญหาโลกร้อนหลายคนก�าลังรณรงค์ไม่ให้โลกร้อนเกิดขึ้น

ในอนาคต โดยให้ทุกคนบนโลกช่วยกันแก้ปัญหา และร่วมมือทั้งการปิด

แบ่งป็น 2 รุ่น ได้แก่ Kin One และ Kin Two

In April, Microsoft has unveiled touch-screen

phones “Kin” that come with a slide out QWERTY

keyboard. Kin’s functions have a strong emphasis

on social networking. There are 2 models, Kin

One and Kin Two.

The Kin One will features QVGA capacitive screen, a

5 megapixel camera, 4GB of storage and a LED flash.

The Kin Two, on the other hand, will feature a HVGA

(Half VGA) capacitive screen, a beefier 8 megapixel

camera, 8GB of storage and the outstanding HD

video-capable camera.

The user can share VDO, pictures, website and

their updated status via The Spot, a small circle

onscreen. Simply drag what you want to update to

the spot and you can share them to friends- very

convenient, isn’t it ?

ปัจจุบัน มักมีค�าถามเกี่ยวกับเรื่องความปลอดภัย

ของข้อมูล หรือ Data Security มากขึ้น เพราะ

ข้อมูลต่างๆ ส่วนใหญ่เก็บเป็น Digital data และ

Threat ต่างๆ อย่างพวกไวรัส หรือ malware บนโลก

อินเทอร์เน็ตที่เจาะมาเพื่อขโมยข้อมูลส�าคัญ อย่างเลข

บตัรเครดติ หรอืข้อมลูทางการเงนิของบรษิทัมมีากขึน้

หรอืแม้กระทัง้พนกังานบรษิทัเองอาจจะมกีารสง่ขอ้มลู

ของบริษัทออกไป อาจจะด้วยความบังเอิญ โดยรู้เท่าไม่

ถงึการณ์ หรอืด้วยเจตนาของใครบางคน ซึง่มนัเกดิขึน้

อย่างมากมายและต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งก็ท�าให้เกิดความเสียหาย

นาทีแรก ตรวจเจออีเมล์ ที่ส่งข้อมูลของบริษัทออกไป

ยัง Yahoo mail กับ Hotmail ซึ่งเป็น e-mail account

ของพนกังานในบรษิทั ทัง้ๆ ทีข้่อมลูเหล่านัน้มกีารขึน้หวั

ว่า “ข้อมลูความลบั ห้ามเผยแพร่ออกภายนอกบรษิทั”

DLP คืออะไร

DLP (Data Loss Prevention) เป็นเทคโนโลยีจะช่วยเหลือองค์กร

ป้องกนัการสญูหายหรอืลกัลอบน�าข้อมลูออกหรอืเข้ามาในระบบ

ซึ่งแบ่งได้เป็น 2 กลุ่มใหญ่ๆ คือ ส่วนที่ป้องกันการรั่วไหลของ

ข้อมูล หรือ Data Leakage Protection กับ ส่วนที่เป็นการ

รักษาความปลอดภัยของข้อมูลที่เครื่องของผู้ใช้ หรือ End Point

Security เลยเจาะไปที่กลุ่มแรกก่อนว่า มีเทคนิคการป้องการรั่ว

ไหลของข้อมูลอย่างไร

การป้องกนัการรัว่ไหลของข้อมลูจะเจอในหลายๆ solution อย่าง

เช่น Data loss protection or prevention, Anti-data leakage,

Insider-threat protection, Outbound content management

ในบางคนจะมองว่าเป็น Extrusion Prevention System หรือ

XPS ซึ่งพูดรวมๆสิ่งที่ solution พวกนี้ท�าคือท�าการตรวจสอบดู

ว่า ข้อมูลที่ก�าลังถูกส่งออกจากบริษัทไปทางเครือข่าย อย่างทาง

อีเมล์ หรือทางเว็บเป็นข้อมูลที่เป็นความลับ หรือข้อมูลส�าคัญ

(Sensitive data) ของบริษัทฟรอืไม่ ซึ่งปัจจุบันนี้มีการใช้พวก

chat โปรแกรมอย่าง MSN หรือ G-Talk ที่สามารถส่งไฟล์ออก

ไปได้ด้วย และการใช้งานพวก social network ที่ผู้ใช้งานสร้าง

content ได้เอง post รูป post ข้อความ upload file ทาง web

ก็เลยยิ่งมีความเสี่ยงที่จะมีข้อมูลรั่วไหลมากขึ้น

Data security is one of the most concerned

issues. This is because today, the information has

been stored in digital format which can be easily

harmed by threats, such as viruses or malwares

from the Internet. Confidential data, such as credit

card numbers or financial information can be

leakages, either by stolen or sent to publish by an

employee, whether intentionally or not. This puts an

organization at risk. A pharmaceutical manufacture

who started their data-leakage tracing operation,

found that within 5 minutes, its information, marked

as “private and strictly confidential” had been sent

to their employees’ personal Yahoo and Hotmail

accounts.

What is DLP?

DLP (Data Loss Prevention) is the technology

that prevents lost or leakage of information in an

organization, the technology means 2 types of

solutions, the Data Leakage Protection and the End

Point Security. Let’s first look into the Data Leakage

Protection solutions and how it works.

Solutions that prevent information leakage are,

for example Data loss protection or prevention,

Anti-data leakage, Insider-threat protection

and Outbound content management- which is

sometime called the Extrusion Prevention System

or XPS. In general, these solutions check whether

the information sent from the company to external

network such as email or websites is confidential

or sensitive data or not. Today the information can

also be transferred from chat programs such as MSN

or G-Talk and social network sites, where users can

develop content, post images, messages or upload

files to the site. These technologies make the data

leakage issue increase.

1. Drink coffee, not water - If your first drink is a cup

of coffee- it’s time to change to a glass of fresh water

to clean your body of toxins.

2. Smoke when get stressed - This is a bad behavior-

smoking is a main cause of lung cancel and it make

you pre mature. If you feel stressful- you’d better work

out, read a nice book or listen to music.

3. Not drink enough water - You are busy at work

and forget to drink water. It’s recommended that you

should drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day to keep

your skin moisture.

4. Skip breakfast – Don’t forget breakfast- it’s the most

important meal of the day.

5. Sleep late at night - You should take a good rest

after your body has been working for the whole day.

The most proper time to go to bed is before 10 pm. It’s

the time that your body regenerates new cells.

6. No Exercise - Do you know that by working out, your

body releases endorphins that make you feel fresh and

happy- it also boosts your immune system.

7. Hardly have a check up – Have your body check- up

1-2 times a year to make you know in which condition

your health is and prevent disease.

Take a good care of yourself and stay healthy!

4. งดอาหารเช้า อาหารที่ส�าคัญที่สุดคือมื้อเช้านะคะ อย่าลืม

5. เข้านอนดึก การพักผ่อนหลังจากที่ร่างกายท�างานมาแล้วทั้งวัน ซึ่งเวลาที่เหมาะแก่การพักผ่อนที่สุด คือช่วงก่อน 4 ทุ่ม เพราะร่างกายจะท�าการผลัดเซลล์ในช่วงเวลานี้

6. ห่างเหินออกก�าลังกาย รู้ไหมว่าการออกก�าลังกายนั้น จะท�าให้ร่างกายหลั่งสารเอนดอร์ฟิน ท�าให้รู ้สึกสดชื่นมีความสุข ท�าให้ร่างกายมีภูมิคุ้มกันโรคมากขึ้น

7. ห่างไกลการพบแพทย์ เราควรจะไปพบแพทย์ อย่างน้อยปีละ 1- 2 ครั้งนะคะ จะช่วยท�า ให้รู้ว่าสุขภาพของเราในตอนนี้เป็นอย่างไร อย่างน้อยก็สามารถแก้ไขหรือป้องกันก่อนการเกิดโรคได้

อย่าลืมดูแลรักษาสุขภาพนะคะ โรคภัยจะได้ไม่เบียดเบียนค่ะ

ลกัษณะการใช้งานทีเ่กดิ Error แบบนี ้คอืการทีข่นาด

พืน้ทีอ่เีมล์ใน Inbox เตม็ Limit ของ Outlook Express

ซึง่ขนาดไฟล์ทีเ่ตม็ Limit คอื ไฟล์ Inbox.dbx มขีนาด

ประมาณ 2 GB (2,097,142 KB) เมื่อไฟล์เต็มแล้วจะท�าให้ไม่

สามารถรับเมลใหม่ๆ เข้ามาได้อีก

วิธีแก้ไขปัญหา มี 2 วิธี ดังต่อไปนี้

1.การ Compact folder หรือ Compact all folder เพื่อลด

ขนาด Inbox.dbx โดยคลิกที่ File > Folder > Compact all

folder ดังรูปด้านบน

2. การสร้าง Folder ใหม่แล้วดึงอีเมล์ต่างๆ ไปแยกเก็บไว้ใน

นั้นแทน เพื่อป้องกันอีเมล์ใน folder นั้นเต็ม 2 GB

This errors may occur when your Outlook Express mailbox

reach it almost full. The Inbox.dbx that reach 2 GB (2,097,142

KB) may not be able to get more new emails.

There are 2 ways to fix this problem.

1. Compact folder or Compact all folder to reduce the size

of Inbox.dbx Click File > Folder > Compact all folder.

2. Create a new Folder to store emails to prevent the

inbox folder from reaching 2 GB limits.
