Die Volkswagen Genuine Roof bars are precisely adapted

to the vehicle and completely pre-assembled.

The roof bars can be safely, precisely and fast fixed to the

roof, without any tools.

The aerodynamic aluminum profile has a structured

surface to minimize wind noise. The roof bars can be

locked to prevent theft.

A torque wrench is included to assure a safe and optimal

locking strength.

The custom-fit cross bars, made of aerodynamic

aluminum profiles, are a stable system base for all roof

carriers. The cross bars are delivered pre-assembled and

are easy to attach to the roof rails of your Volkswagen.

The cross bars can be locked to prevent theft.

A torque wrench is included to assure a safe and optimal

locking strength.

The Volkswagen testing procedures

Harder, stronger, further, more – the Volkswagen testing

procedures for transport systems go above and beyond the

legally defined requirements: in terms of materials quality,

in the laboratory and finally on the test track.

Laboratory tests: We carry out corrosion testing in saltwater spray

systems, UV resistance, environmental compatibility checks and a

number of other laboratory tests in order to examine all of the

relevant material properties. Certain products are exposed to

extreme temperatures in climatic chamber tests. The functionality

of the components must be guaranteed and unimpaired at all

times.

Endurance: Whether it is over short distances, at high speed or

along demanding routes – we test our products‘ durability under

continuous load conditions. The special road endurance test is

carried out using the maximum permissible load and a variety of

different testing profiles.

Test track: Our test drives with maximum forward and side to side

acceleration, for instance by weaving around obstacles, full brake

applications and on cobblestone surfaces, subject the accessories

to extremely tough test conditions again and again.

City-Crash-Plus. Because safer is better.

Volkswagen‘s in-house crash tests are carried out at

speed and acceleration rates higher than those

required by the DIN 75302, ISO/PAS 11154 and the

“City Crash” test – because Volkswagen believes that

its own “City Crash Plus” tests at 30 km/h and a 20%

overload on the roof is more realistic than the

standards set by DIN and ISO.
