With over 150 members signed up, this summer has been nothing but fun and excitement thus far. The club has field trips scheduled every day. Trips include horseback riding, swimming, hiking at the Nature Center, and out to the movies. Along with these trips the club has scheduled programs and activities in every department including Reading Clubs, Science Clubs and Boys/Girls Scouts in the Learning Center. The athletic department is busy with their Basketball league and softball games at George Washington Elementary School. The Technology Lab is also conducting programs such as, Keyboarding, Dance Dance Revolution, Club Tech and Project Learn. Our Games room department is very busy with Daily Tournaments, Chess Club practices, and card games. Finally the Art room is offering painting, sewing, and collage making in the room so far. For information on how to sign your child up call Anna Ayala at 818-842- 9333. Children must be six (or going into first grade)—seventeen years of age. Registration Fee is $75.00 and a weekly fee of $80.00. On Friday July 29, 2005 the members of the Boys and Girls Club are headed to the Joslyn Senior Center for an afternoon of chess, backgammon, and card games with the seniors of our community. This will be the first time we do an event that will bring these two generations together for fun. The event will begin at 1:00 and will proceed until 4:00pm. Boys and Girls Club of Burbank

On Friday August 26th, 2005, the Boys and Girls Club will hold there

first ever Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament Fundraiser. The

registration fee is $100.00. Once signed up you will receive $1000.00 in casino chips. The event will take

place at: The Masonic Lodge

Special Days

Boys and Girls Club Day at Lundigan Park

Monday August 8, the Boys and Girls Club will celebrate National

Boys and Girls Club Day at Lundigan Park. All members will

walk over to the park and have an afternoon of excitement. Members

will participate in a variety of games and prizes will be awarded. Lunch will also be provided. The event will take place at 11:30 till

2:00pm.

and Darren Feher, Chief Technology Officer for NBC/Universal presented the NBC Universal IT Team with a check for $5000 for their excellence in IT. But the

team of 12 people voted to donate this to the Boys &Girls Club. We would like to thank the NBC Universal IT Team for

there recent contribution of $5000.00 to the club. Their contribution will be used

for the technology center to help buy new computers.

We want to congratulate Adnan Chowdhury on becoming the Member

of the Month for June 2005. Adnan is a member of the Main Club and an active player in our Chess Team. He attends

the club along with his two brothers and one sister. He currently attends George

Washington E.S. When he arrives to the club he completes his homework in the Learning Center. He loves playing

chess and helping the younger members in learning to play the game.

Congratulations again to Adnan Chowdhury.
