Dearly beloved in Christ,

Warm greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

The Bible says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart

from it” (Proverb 22: 6). We thank God for all the work that is being done through the Sunday

school to guide our generation through the ways of God's grace. Sunday school is one of the

structured and disciplined organizations of the Mar Thoma church. A God fearing generation is

one of the most valuable blessings of a parish. A child who develops a strong foundation in Jesus

Christ will always stand firm in a world of shifting values and morals. Sunday school plants

spiritual seed in children that will make them good disciples for Christ and good believers in

community. In these days parents are so much interested to give secular education to their wards

but they should also understand the importance in giving spiritual nourishment. The aim of our

Sunday school is to build strong faith in children and help them to accept Christ as their Lord and

Saviour. It also aims to help them to imbibe kingdom values and give them a true vision to serve

others with true Christian love. Christian Education through Sunday school has its relevance and

significance till this day. Sunday school education will enable them to face the life reality with

courage and hope. Let us all pray for our children so that they may live in this world guided by

true spiritual wisdom. Every year the World Sunday School Day is celebrated on the first Friday

of the month of November by our Kuwait Center Mar Thoma Sunday school.

We are celebrating Harvest festival of our parish on 12th November. The theme is “Harvest

Festival: Festival of sharing amidst enduring times”. We live in a situation where the whole world

is totally devastated by the Covid crisis. Harvest festival is an occasion for us to thank our Lord

Almighty for the manifold blessings that we received in our lives. The offering of the first fruits is

described in Leviticus 23:9-14. This offering at the beginning of the harvest points the gratitude

and dependence of the people of Israel to God. With Gratitude we also need to remember how the

Lord made us move through this enduring time of Covid. We cannot forget his graciousness

towards us and with gratefulness let us share our blessings with others through the means of

Harvest Festival. The Israelites brought their first fruit of their harvest before the Lord as a token

of gratitude and recognition. Let us also show our thankfulness to our Lord by actively partaking

in the Harvest festival of our Parish.

The annual and birudh exams of our Sunday school are scheduled on November 26th and

December 10th respectively. I urge all parents to give importance to Sunday school examination

that all of our children can earnestly attend in their examinations without fail. The convention

meetings held in October were indeed a blessing and let us thank God for all His love and mercy

which we experienced during the meetings. May God help us to live according to his Word.

May the grace, mercy, and blessings of the Triune God be with us all.
