Summertime Fun - Let The Good Times Roll!

Friday, June 7, 2019 Socializing begins at 6:00 pm.

Followed by plated dinner, music and dancing. This summer party is traditionally KNN’s largest, so we suggest everyone who is

interested to sign up as soon as possible. Don’t delay, as we want everyone to

join us for all the “Summertime Fun” where we can “Let the Good Times Roll!”

Seating for KNN dinners is

arranged with the intention to

mix things up so that all

members have the opportunity

to meet “new” members as

well as mingle with existing

members. In that spirit,

special seating requests are

not accepted.

June 2019 - September 2019 Activities The Heart of KNN

Activity Name Activity Leader Phone There are 3 rotations per year: Feb-May, June-Sept, Oct-Jan. Sign-ups are done online in Dec,

April, and Aug for the upcoming rotation. Anyone can sign up for as many or as few activities as they would like. Feel free to contact the Activity Leader (per the boxes to the left) for any questions or for more information. If you missed this rotation, be

sure to watch your email for the next rotation deadline. These activities are a great way to not only get out, but also to meet your neighbors!

Don’t forget the SUB list. If someone in a group can’t attend an activity, please call those who have signed up to be substitutes directly. That gives everyone a chance to participate! It also

helps in the scheduling of the event, and maybe even help eliminate the dreaded, endless, back

and forth emails.

KNN Facebook Page Has Moved!

Did you know KNN has moved its Facebook page location? We created the new page as a “Closed Group” to

ensure privacy for our members and for what is shared there in our Facebook posts. Only Kenmure residents

are allowed to be members of the new Facebook group and only members of the closed group are able to view

the contents, as the group is not open to the general public. This new Facebook group allows a chat feature and

enables more interaction with other Kenmure residents. Check it out and invite your Kenmure friends and

neighbors, knowing that all who ask to join the group will be vetted to ensure they are residents of Kenmure.

We at Kenmure are very fortunate to have so many talented and dedicated volunteers!! Kenmure Newcomers and

Neighbors, KNN, has served as the premier social club of our community for years, truly the heart and soul of

Kenmure. As such it attracts many special individuals who tirelessly donate their time behind the scenes to create the

magic. One such individual is KNN’s Decorating Chair, Pam Jastczemski. One look at the molded vintage record vases

and handwritten nostalgic centerpieces that Pam and her secret helper, Al made for the tables of our “The Way We

Were“ Dance Party tell you these were not ordered on line!! This is but one of seven such events that Pam and her

team will lend their talents to this year.

Another group of ladies that deserve a special shout -out are our KNN Arts and Activities leaders Karen Balkman, Linda

Winans and Pam Tiles. Imagine what you go through when you have out of town company and need to find

interesting activities to do, organize lunch reservations and then figure out timing, weather and transportation, got it?

Now multiply times 15-30 people and do it over and over about 8-10 times a year. And you thought it was difficult

keeping your grandchildren entertained? Try it on a sophisticated group of world travelers who have seen and done it

all. Kudos to these ladies as well.

Note: we are always looking for new volunteers each year to fill numerous positions in KNN. So, if you are reading this, think how

you might be able to contribute your life skills. I always say that to get to this beautiful community we call home, each and every one

of us was successful in our past life. Now it’s your turn to pay it forward in your “so -called” retirement.
