I would like to thank John & Pat Buehrle for all their work at the USO and coming to our meeting to receive our donation to the USO. The USO is a true comfort to all of our service men & women.
The NCCC National Convention is July 17th thru the 22nd, we’ll look forward to a great report from our Governor Tom Reitz.
We also have the trip to Bowling Green at the end of the month with many members attending, be sure to print off your packet that Bob Isermann sent out to have with you.
Hope everyone is having a great and safe July, we’ll see you on August 4th for our monthly meeting.

Presentation to the USO: President Ron Nelson asks our USO MO representative John Buehrle to the front for the presentation of our donation.
Bob Isermann presents Mr. Buehrle with a donation check. This is the amount earned from our Route 66 Car Show. (Bob I asks Mr. Buehrle for flag that he has read about for a donation. Mr. Buehrle will see that we get that.) Mr. Buehrle is thrilled with the donation and explains how the money will be used. Recently 580 recruits came through the US0 (Lambert Field) and lots of food was consumed. Food, utilities, mobile units for events, and other needs will make good use of this donation. This USO is the only USO in the state of Missouri and it serves 4 counties in Illinois. The funds not only help soldiers, but their families as well. Detta Nelson gave a personal account of family members receiving help from the USO.

Bob I. reminds the group that the team has provided stops going home as well. Although he realizes some will return home on their own. GM workers are wearing red shirts in support of our troops. It would be nice if we could do the same. Reminder the GM plant tour requires the wearing of closed toe and heel shoes. Those not complying will not be able to do the tour. They will see the movie and then be asked to wait it out for the tour to end.
