The New Macomb Honey Bee Club Apiary Deck

On April 16th several members of the club met at the apiary location to build a new deck

for the bee colonies. In about 3 hrs., we were done! It was a Great Team effort and some

building skills were even learned in the process. The materials for the deck were donated

by a local small business and I repurposed wood from my deck to build the benches.

The Anton Art Center in Mt Clemens hosted a “ painting

party” for the bee club and about 20 “Painters at Heart”

from the community attended the event. Thanks to all.

Starting with this newsletter we will enclose the club financials

We started the year with $788 that carried over from last year

We had a few new members and sale of stepping stones $180

We ordered and paid for 5 NUC’s (bee colonies) $675

The NUC boxes will be here on May 7th at 10:00 am. So we will be meeting at

9:00 am to take their new homes to the Apiary before they arrive, once they

get here will Demo/install all the new colonies into their new homes.
