What is BULLYING?
Bullying is a form of harassment and is
an on-going misuse of power through
repeated verbal, physical and/or social
behaviour that causes physical or
psychological harm. It can involve an
individual or a group misusing their
power over one or more persons.
Bullying can happen in person or online
and it can be obvious or hidden.
Bullying of any form or for any reason
can have a long-term effect on those
involved, including bystanders.
What is a BYSTANDER?
A bystander is someone who sees bullying happening and chooses to react by
laughing, giggling, pointing, staring, doing nothing, whispering to other people
about it and/or gossiping about it. They might play 'the messenger' between bully
and victim, spread rumours they have heard or join in when a bully is
ignoring/excluding someone. Or a bystander might 'like' or favourite a mean post
on Facebook, Instagram or other social media sites. Being a bystander is like
saying YOU agree with the bully. Not cool.
Did you know that as a young person, you have 50% more chance of
stopping bullying (by standing up and telling the bully that it's NOT ok)
than an adult does?!? Boom!!!
Remember this - there is no place for bullies at Woongarrah FC – there are
consequences for bullies that can result in penalties and punishments being
applied if anyone wants to give it a go, it could result in a player being removed
from the team or suspended from playing the rest of the year.

5-Starfish-2
Coach – Dean Knibbs
Manager – Rachelle Kowaliw
At home to Budgewoi where the boys went down 4-2. The boys lacked a bit of going forward
this week but still lots of fun and laughter from them all. I’m sure we will come back with great
enthusiasm next week. The player of the week went to Bodhi for continually trying week after
week.
5-Starfish-3
Coach – Glenn Fittler Manager – Trish Fittler A hard played game against our hard opponents, all the girls played their hearts out and had fun
whilst doing so. They never gave up trying to get the ball of the opposition and into the back of the
Nets. Player of the week was awarded to Mia. Well done girls, keep up the great work.⚽
THE “DOLPHIN” TEAMS
6-Dolphin-2
Coach – Megan Wells
Manager – Debbie Sadler
This week our boys played a competitive Doyalson side who went one goal up in the opening minutes. Our Woongarrah
boys showed their determination and never give up attitude to help Otis even the score with beautiful goal. Many shots were
had by both teams however none found the net until later in the game thanks to some excellent teamwork from Kai,
urgency in defence from Lucas and some pretty special goal saving slides from Saxon. It's great to see Aidan getting right
into the attack supporting James who scored a super goal in the second half. Player of the week went to Kai for his
eagerness and involvement all game.
6-Dolphin-3
Coach – Hylton Abrahams
Manager – Heidi Duncum
Wow, it is amazing watching the children's soccer skills improve week in and week out. The team are using their skills
learnt and practiced at training and incorporating it on game day. Well done boys for playing the whole game with no subs.
Congratulations to Ethan who received Player of the week.
6-Dolphin-4
Coach – James Hamilton
Manager – Jackie Kelly
Another exciting game on Saturday against Budgewoi. There were a few goals scored including a great one that Shaun
scored from a pass. They are enjoying the challenge of passing the ball to each other and playing as a team. Some awesome
defence by Sam who stopped a lot of goals from Budgewoi. Woman of the Match went to Evie for being such a tough kid.
She got knocked down a couple of times by bigger boys and kept smiling, getting up and playing. Well done to the whole
team.
6-Dolphin-6
Coach – Glen McCann
Manager – Vanessa McCann
"SPEEDY" WILL - SHOOTS AND SCORES!! A huge game from our
Player of the Week - Speedy Will Ross today! This one had it all - quick
runs, perfect passes, pressure, one on one tackles, sideline breaks, and
his FIRST GOAL of the season! Congrats little mate! you had a
sensational game! Brody was strong again in defence - enjoying being
that last man standing before the goals - and using that sweet footwork
to stand up the opposition. Our boys are working on finding space - and
passing to team-mates in good positions. Wildcats working together to
move the ball down the field. Let's go again next week!!
THE “TURTLE” TEAMS
7-Turtle-4
Coach – Joel Simmons Manager – Cindy Dunkley Another fantastic effort by the girls this week giving us a win against Budgewoi.
The girls are showing so much improvement as the weeks go by and once again all 7 played excellent.
This week’s player of the week trophy was awarded to Mykala.
THE “LOBSTER” TEAMS
7-Lobster-2
Coach – Damien Miller
Manager – Peter Faulkner A great game this week against Budgewoi for the boys, Max slotted in a long range
attempt, Dylan was hard to catch as usual, Jace and Rhys attacked the ball hard and
Lewis was great in defence. They also had a great day at the Ourimbah Gala day on
Sunday too.
7-Lobster-3
Coach – Dennis Gyamfi
Manager – Danni Hain
Was probably the first cold Saturday of the season but the boys played great regardless and won the game. Man of the
match went to Xander this week who played his heart out all game. A shout out to Coby who recieved our Boost Juice
Award for his efforts.
7-Lobster-4

THE “WHALE” TEAM
8-Whale-1 Coach – Hylton Abrahams
Manager – Kate Ireland It was nice to be back home this week. We played a Terrigal team once again and the boys were
brilliant! Their team work and positioning on the park has improved so much lately. There
were some fantastic passes to move the ball up the park this week. Well done to Zen our Player
of the Week.
Under 9B
Coached by Guy Godyn
Managed by Jennifer Dovey & Caterina Doyle
EDSACC oval turned on some chilly weather for this away match. Our boys were
committed to their positions on the field and were caught off guard early on by a
wonderful one on one challenge by Killarney on our goalie... They quickly rallied
together and hit back with a fantastic long range strike from Ashton followed by
2 more goals from Seth, one of which was an amazing goal scored from the
corner! Rhys, Kye, Eli and Callum worked extremely hard to keep the ball up the
other end of the field, constantly threatening Killarney's goalie. Extra special
mention goes to our Player of the Match Lewis for his efforts in attack and our
Coaches Award recipient was Jacob for his tenacity in defence and great passing
amongst his team. Great job again today boys, very proud to the effort!
Under 9C
Coached by Matt Newton

Another fine performance by our boys against Budgewoi. The boys all worked well together, with some brilliant passing
action! It’s great to see that all the training is paying off......the boys are holding their positions really well and getting used
to playing onside (even though that’s not a rule for under 9’s) Some awesome Goal saves by Alex & Max this week..... kept
Budgewoi to zero! Congratulations to Kalan for being player of the week And to Addison (Pony Boy) for receiving our
teamwork award!

Away win for the boys this week against The Entrance...these boys just keep winning every week! Man of the match went to
Cody for excellent defence duties. Very convincing win, great defence, the boys have definatley improved and working as a
team. Things just keep getting better and better!
Under 11A
Coached by Dennis Gyamfi
Managed by Jackie Miller Well what a great start to our weekend of soccer started with a 2 all draw against
Ourimbah. The boys played well really getting behind each other and working together.
Sunday saw a full day of soccer at Mongo Gala Day. They played 6 games 2 wins, 3
draws and 1 lose. Massive weekend for the boys and their parents and a big shout out to
our Noah who travelled all the way down to Mongo to support his team with a broken
foot. A great team of kids and parents.
Under 12B – 3-3 DRAW against Kariong
Coached by Brendan Hodges
Managed by Liz Hucker
This weekend we met bottom of the table Kariong and were buzzing after our Wednesday night win. 5 minutes in and we
are 2-0 down. The boys fought back for a 3-3 draw and if we had of converted a quarter of our chances it could've been 5/6-
3 but that's footy. The dream team is still undefeated and continue to play #sexysoccer
Under 13A – 4-0 LOSS against Kincumber
Coached by Anthony Ryan
Managed by Shane Olsen
The boys were keen to improve on the performance from last time we played Kincumber. We knew it was going to be a
tough game with Kincumber sitting 4th and we only had 9 fit players. A big thanks to Zeke and Cam from 13C's and Kye,
Tyler and Sam from 12D's for helping out. You all played well and the boys are grateful for your help. The boys were
defending well during the 1st half and once Kincumber got their 1st goal, another 2 quickly followed. We went into half time
3-0 down but knew where we could improve and the boys 2nd half was definitely better with Kincumber only adding 1 more
goal for the game to finish at 4-0. When we pass to feet and move to create space for ourselves, we look good but we just
don't do it consistently. That is the difference between us and the top teams. We can do and have done it before, just need to
keep doing it. Enjoy the week off and lets work hard at training.
Under 13C – 3-3 DRAW against Avoca
Coached by Todd Bacon
Managed by Scott McClelland
What can I say...another thriller ending in a very well played 3-3 draw. We surprised Avoca earlier with an all out attack,
but after a couple of lucky breaks Avoca were up 2-0 mid way through the 1st half. The team showed tremendous spirit and
determination to fight back to 2-2, when with 5 minutes to play Avoca scored taking the lead. The boys dropped their heads
for a split second, but came back firing. They were not going down without a fight. An enormous amount of pressure
applied and with only a couple of minutes to play we got the equaliser. The boys and the crowd were ecstatic, and both
teams deserved to walk away with some points. The game was played with terrific sportsmanship and I have to say even the
opposition parents and coaches were happy to have a laugh. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon. Beyond our game, over on
field 1, we had Zeke and Cameron helping out our 13-A side at the same time as our game. Boys thank you very much for
your help and support of the 13-A's. In saying that though we missed you and want you back in our team next week. Thanks.
Women’s 13B – 3-1 WIN against Gosford
Coached by Kristie Daniels
Managed by Barb Hobbs
Well done on another win. Gosford certainly weren't going to hand it to us easily. The girls knew what they needed to do,
however were a little slow off the mark. Bijou found herself under a little bit of pressure in goals early but thanks to her
goalkeeping training was able to keep the ball out of the net. We were up a goal going into the 1st half but thought if we were
to win this game we had to step it up. 2nd half was better and we were able to concede another 2 goals with Gosford were
also able to concede a goal. Let’s keep it going girls.
Women’s 14A – 2-2 DRAW against Terrigal
Coached by Phil Bott
Managed by Sally Green
2 all draw this week for the girls. They played very well despite being frustrated and not able to edge in front. Woongarrah
started off strongly in the first half scoring both their goals, but unfortunately Terrigal came back strong in the second half
scoring their two goals. Outstanding efforts form Han and Shannon, Olivia, Briley with all the girls giving a great effort and
refusing to give up and let Terrigal win.
Under 14B – 1-0 WIN against Budgewoi
Coached by Jason Bracken
Managed by Peter Churches
Budgewoi have traditionally been tough opposition, so the team was really keen to get on the pitch on the back of our recent
good form. It was a tight match right from the start with both teams seeking dominance in the midfield. Some free kicks
from unlucky handballs tested our defensive nerve, but we were up to the challenge and shut down their set plays quickly.
The deadlock was broken when we made a run down the right side, Tom (Sumo) found the back of the net over the keeper's
head. The second half saw opportunities for both teams, with none capitalized upon. A great effort from the team to come
home with the win as this was also our first week without Nathan - we are all hoping for a speedy recovery mate. A special
mention this week must go to our defence, our back line - Aaron, Cooper, Kurtis, Zac, James and especially Mason with the
gloves. They have done an amazing job only conceding 4 goals in the last 8 games, including 1 from an unlucky own goal
and 1 from the spot. Super performances each week have turned potential losses into draws and draws into wins. Thanks
for the stats Brian.
Men’s 15A – 1-1 DRAW against Kariong
Coached by Matt Wilson
Managed by Jodine Cranidge
Going into the game today, I think the boys were a little relaxed and slow to start thinking that this would be an easy game
with Kariong still to score a win..... Kariong were first to score from a set play, going into the break 1-0 down, we just could
not cracked through Kariong's defence having two players on us all the time. 2nd half we were awarded a free kick and what
a great shot from the boot to go into the back off the net, there was no stopping it at 1-1, it was an exciting last 15 minutes
and boys really lifted but time was not on our side with final result 1-1.
Men’s 18B – 4-2 WIN against Terrigal
Coached by Mark Ivers & Troy Hale
Managed by Chris Taylor
This game was one of those games where it was a game of 2 halves , we took to the field flat
and slow and actually played to the level of our opponents and were down 2-1 at halftime
,then in the 2nd half we started to play soccer but not our best soccer but a type of soccer
that got the team rolling with a goal scored by a player in the correct position to score and
another scored with one of the best headers you are likely to see , accuracy , delivery and
power then we got another to take us into the lead 4-2 great end to a game that could have easily gone the other way . Well
done champions you gave me near heart failure but it was a good 2nd half and another thing was the falcon Tim got was
worthy of the falcon of the year thus far.
Men’s All Age 8 – 4-3 WIN against Wyong
Managed by Terry McDonnell
What an amazing game Cannot praise the guys enough for the effort and determination After trailing by 2 in the early
running the boys dug in and lifted to be 2-2 at half-time The constant pressure kept up from both sides and well-structured
attack yielded 2 well taken goals to secure the win
Goals to Alex Vega 1 Mitchell Hunter 1 Matt Schilder 2
Men’s Division One Head Coach: Luke Rogers
Men’s Division 1 Reserve Grade Coach: Christian Smith
Reserve Grade – 7-0 LOSS against Umina
This week we played a very strong and competitive Umina side unfortunately for us it's a game we would like to forget it was
another learning experience for our new and young squad who will be better for the game. It was one of those game where
the bounce of the ball went there way and some uncharacteristic mistakes from us cost us goals but to our credit we never
gave up and continued to match them the best we could but unfortunately it just wasn't to be our day so it's just back to
training working on the little things and getting ready for next week’s game .man of the match Brad Cid
1st Grade – 3-2 LOSS against Umina
Playing with 9 men at Umina we lost 3-2.
