Next school year officially
starts on August 25th. It’s
my hope that you will get
some rest over the summer
and start next year off ready
to learn, achieve and suc-
ceed. If things this school
year did not go as you
planned, make a change and
come back next year ready to
shine. You are in control of
your own destiny and future.
Over the summer you should
spend some time thinking
about your future plans and
set some goals for yourself
to work towards. The world
has endless possibilities, so
set high expectations for you
to achieve.
If you need something over
the summer please stop in or
call. Thanks for taking the
time to read through the final
newsletter for the 2015-2016
school year. Have a great
summer.
Eric T. Stair,
Principal
Congratulations to the class
of 2016. You have raised
the bar for others to follow.
We are all so very proud of
you.
A special shout out goes out
to the baseball team for win-
ning the first district title in
our school’s history, this is a
real accomplishment and you
deserve recognition.
This year has certainly flown
by. We have had a great
school year and a special
thanks to all students for
working hard and dedicating
yourself to achieve great-
ness. As students, you have
the potential to be whatever
you set your mind on becom-
ing and you should always
remain focused on your
goals. If you make a mistake
you correct it, and move on
and not allow it to define
who you are. We are all here
to support you and lead you
to become the world’s future
leaders. You all have the
potential to shine, just be-
lieve in yourself and stay
motivated.
Congratulations Class of 2016!

Mrs. Steiner’s Honors Chemistry class recently visited the Merck Cher-okee plant in Riverside, PA. The day was spent introducing the stu-dents to real world applications of science concepts learned in the classroom. Students spoke directly with people working in the science field about their careers and the educational path it took to get there. Merck manufactures two life-saving antibiotic products at this site.
EMMA KAKALEY—JR HIGH MATH
The math department is pleased to recognize Emma Kakaley as the JR High Math Student of the
Marking Period. Emma is an Honors Pre-Algebra student who has done well all year but particularly
excelled during the second half of the year. She displayed enthusiasm when learning geometry top-
ics and equation of lines. Emma has a great attitude toward learning and is neat and methodical
with her work. She has strong problem-solving and calculation skills and displayed more classroom
participation during the 2nd semester. Congratulations on a great year and good luck in Honors Alge-
bra I, Emma!
CORTNEE BARDO—JR HIGH ENGLISH
The English department is proud to announce Cortnee Bardo as the JR High English Student of
the Marking Period. Cortnee is an outstanding student with a creative mind that takes full ad-
vantage of her vivid imagination which is evident in her unique storytelling. Cortnee excels in
not only her use of proper grammar and broad vocabulary, but also in her ability to comprehend
and analyze complex writing. Cortnee is a bright student with a contagious smile who is eager
to assist her classmates. Congratulations, Cortnee, for your achievement this marking period!
WILL HOLDREN—JR HIGH SPANISH
The JR High World Languages department is honoring Will Holdren for his appreciation of the
Spanish language. Will is a hard worker and strives to do his best in speaking, reading, listening
and writing, in this introductory level of Spanish study. He is a positive member of the classroom,
and works very well with his classmates. I encourage him to continue his second language studies.
¡Felicidades Will!
COLEMAN HAYMAN—JR HIGH HEALTH
The JR High Health Student of the Marking Period is Coleman Hayman. Throughout the quarter,
Coleman has provided input into various class discussions and held a great average. He doesn't
hesitate to ask questions or relate what we are discussing to something he has experienced. His
presentations are thorough and well planned. Congratulations Coleman, and great work!
JASON DEITRICK—JR HIGH FRENCH
The JR High French Student of the Marking Period is Jason Deitrick. Jason has been a pleasure to have
in class. Although the time I have had with this class has been shortened due to PSSA testing, they have
all risen to the challenge and excelled. Jason has not only excelled academically he has also been a
positive influence on the class. I particularly liked that when he did his French speaking weather report
on Vietnam he used one of the expressions from the project to say “Bonne matinée Vietnam” (Good
morning Vietnam) as an introduction to his presentation. I know that he will continue to do well in which
ever language he chooses.
JACKSON TEMPLE—SR HIGH SPANISH
The SR High World Languages department is honoring Jackson Temple for his dedication to the
Spanish language. Jackson has a natural ability for grasping grammatical concepts quickly, and
applies them just the same. His pronunciation is exemplary for this second level of study. He was
recently inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society, due in part to his excellent performance
in the Spanish language. It is a pleasure to work with Jackson this year. ¡Felicidades, Jackson!
BRITANI LINGAFELT—SR HIGH MATH
The math department is pleased to recognize Britani Lingafelt as the SR High Math Student of the
Marking Period. Britani is a sophomore who studied AP Calculus this year and consistently earned
one of the highest scores in the class. She worked hard all year to prepare for the Calculus AB Ad-
vanced Placement test in May. Britani has strong problem-solving skills, a methodical approach, and
a great work ethic. She utilizes technology effectively but is more likely to perform mental calcula-
tions than to use a calculator. Congratulations on a great year, Britani!
OLIVIA SAVAGE—JR HIGH SOCIAL STUDIES
The Social Studies Department is proud to announce that Olivia Savage has been nominated as the
Student of the Marking Period. Olivia is currently a seventh grader at Millville Jr/Sr High School. She

all her teachers and peers. Olivia is a hard worker, which will allow her to be successful in her future
endeavors. Congratulations Olivia!
OLIVIA SAVAGE—JR HIGH SCIENCE
Olivia Savage is the JR High Student of the Marking Period for Science. She is a responsible and hard

also works to the highest level; going beyond what is expected on projects and assignments. Olivia was
the only 7th grade student to participate in the Columbia County Conservation District poster contest
this year. She won first place for her poster on, “We All Need Trees”. Fabulous job, Olivia!!
JAYCIE FOUGHT—SR HIGH FRENCH
The SR High French Department Student of the Marking Period is Jaycie Fought. I have greatly en-
joyed having Jaycie in class as I can always count on her to be on top of what we are doing and I have
seen in her an enthusiasm for French culture. Although Jaycie has always been in larger classes with
me she has always been able to stand out from the crowd with her academic integrity and excellence
and her enthusiasm for learning. I am very much looking forward to having her next year and beyond
during her continued study of the French language and culture.
SYDNEY DILICK—SR HIGH SCIENCE
The Science Department is very pleased to announce Sydney Dilick as Science Student of the Mark-
ing Period. Sydney was selected because of her work ethic and her ability to think critically. She
excels in science because she is always engaged in class, uses her best effort in completing her
homework consistently, and has the ability to solve problems systematically. She works hard at
understanding the underlying concepts within the science topics so she can apply them in other
areas as well. Sydney is a role model for her classmates and shows exceptional study skills and
habits that will benefit her for the rest of her life. Congratulations Sydney!
