Lewisburg. There were over a

hundred works submitted by

13 area school districts. Each

school is allowed to enter 9

Students in Mr. Ritter’s Spring Painting class recently completed a mural in the high

which was designed to represent all areas of the school curriculum. Mr. Ritter then

created an arrangement and the students worked to create a final revision. The

artists were: Stormi Albertson, Kaitlan Anderson, Olivia Belles, Keegan Bower,

Madison Bucher, Sydney Dilick, James Leiby, Megan Miller, Elliott Ovelman, Shayne

Peterman, Jaylen Reichner, Averi Rine, Kamryn Stitz, Callie Yohey, Morgan Bower,

Mrs. Steiner’s Honors Chemistry class recently visited the Merck Cher-okee plant in Riverside, PA. The day was spent introducing the stu-dents to real world applications of science concepts learned in the classroom. Students spoke directly with people working in the science field about their careers and the educational path it took to get there. Merck manufactures two life-saving antibiotic products at this site.

JASON DEITRICK—JR HIGH FRENCH

The JR High French Student of the Marking Period is Jason Deitrick. Jason has been a pleasure to have

in class. Although the time I have had with this class has been shortened due to PSSA testing, they have

all risen to the challenge and excelled. Jason has not only excelled academically he has also been a

positive influence on the class. I particularly liked that when he did his French speaking weather report

on Vietnam he used one of the expressions from the project to say “Bonne matinée Vietnam” (Good

morning Vietnam) as an introduction to his presentation. I know that he will continue to do well in which

ever language he chooses.
