Ihave been asked to providethe readers with a briefbiography.Assumingyouarenotthatinterestedinreadinga resume, I thought Iwouldtellyouwhatyoumightliketoknowaboutme.Becomingyourmanagerisalmostlikecominghome.Ihave lived “just across thelake” in The Courtyard fortwenty years. During myyearsasaWestlakeRealtor,
IdrovetoworkdownWestlakeDrivetoToroCanyonandshowedmanyDavenporthomesduringthattime. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I spent a career in housing finance withbothstateandFederalagenciesandintheprivatesector.Ihaveserved on a number of non-profit boards including as president of my ownhomeowners’associationinTheCourtyard.Asanassociationmanager, I find myself drawing on every bit of that experience. Myleisuretimeisspentwithmyhusband,Fred,ourfourchildrenand their families which include six very good looking and quite aboveaveragegrandchildren. Davenport Wastewater Improvement Project Update
TheDavenportWastewaterImprovementsProject,brokenintothreeseparateconstructionprojects,has been underway since December 2005. These projects are expected to continue through mid-2008. These projects are necessary to demolish a package wastewater treatment plant within theAustin Country Club (ACC) golf course. Wastewater lines will be installed, along with a pumpstation that will pump wastewater from the Davenport Ranch subdivision to the City of Austin’sCrosstownTunnelthatwillcarrythewastewaterfortreatment.Followingisasummaryofthestatusofeachoftheprojects.
Davenport Project 1: Horizontal Directional Drilling ImprovementsThisproject, locatedwithin theACCgolfcourse,at theTravisCountyBoatRamp,andalong thenorthboundsideofLoop360,beganconstruction in December 2005. Thisprojectconsistsofusinghorizontal directional drilling (HDD), a trenchless technology, to install three wastewater lines – two underneaththeACCgolfcourse,andoneunderneathLake Austin. Two, 12-inch plastic wastewater lines are encased in a 30-inch steel casing with, six, 3-inch Austin Energy conduit space holders.
The work outside ACC will be completed by the end of 2006.Theremainderoftheworkisscheduledtobecompletedbyearly2007*. This project has entailed closing down portions of the TravisCountyBoatRamp.Noadditionalboatrampclosureswilloccur with respect to this project. Upon completion of thisproject,Project3 cancommence.The construction inspector tocontact with any questions is James (Jim) Evans at 576-8890.
Davenport Project 2: Wastewater ImprovementsThisproject,locatedalongthenorthboundsideofLoop360,justpastFM2222beganconstructionin August 2006. This project continues from the endpoint of Project 1, which includes theinstallation of 2,500 linear feet of 15-inch gravity wastewater line and manholes. The line willconnect into the City’s existing Crosstown Tunnel. The project also includes the installation ofrainstoppers,whicharepansinstalledjustunderneaththelidsofmanholes.Therainstopperscollectrain that infiltrates through thecoversof themanholesduringrainevents.Therainremains in thepanandevaporatesaftertheraineventends,andthus prevents excess treatment of rainwater at the City’swastewater treatmentplants.The rainstoppers arebeing installed throughout theDavenportRanchsubdivisionandinportionsoftheareaontheeastsideofLoop360nearWestlakeDrive.Theprojectisscheduledtobecompletedinearly2007*. The construction inspector to contact with any questions is T.R. Appling at 233-9000.
Davenport Project 3: Lift StationThis project is located entirely within the ACC golf course. A 1,200-gpm (gallon per minute) wastewater lift stationwillbeconstructednear theACCgolf course’smaintenance facility.Uponcompletion of the lift station, the existing wastewater treatment plant will be demolished. This project is tentatively scheduled to begin construction in the second half of 2007 and last through mid-2008*. 1largeor2smallonions (about 2 cups) 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided) 1cupfreshchoppedorcanneddicedtomatoes*,drained 1/2cupchoppedfreshbasil 6largeeggs 1/4cupgratedRomanoorParmesancheese
Cut onions into halves, place flat sides down and cut each half into narrow wedges. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in 9- or 10-inch skillet or sautŽ pan. Add onion and sautŽ 8 to 10 minutes until golden. Remove about one-third of the onion from pan and keep warm.Adddrained tomatoesandallbutabout1 tablespoonbasiltopanandcookwithonions1minutetoheat.Beateggsin bowl with fork. Add onion-tomato-basil mixture to eggs, stirringjusttocombine.Heatremaining2tablespoonsoilinskillet. Pour egg mixture into hot skillet. Cover and cook over low heat until set, about 15 minutes.
