Director’s Report – Alberta – Norma Jeanne Pohl

Do hope everyone has had a great summer – both with family , friends and our dog families. Alberta has been exceptionally warm – sometimes making it rather hard on our Shelties – but we all manage to find shade ,and water for our four footed friends – and sufficient refreshment for the exhibitors !

On behalf of all the Alberta CSSA members – we wish to express our sincere Sympathy to the families of those Sheltie enthusiasts who have lost a member of their family.

It was wonderful to see the CSSA Sheltie Regional show held in conjunction with the Alberta Kennel Club shows at Spruce Meadows . The site is truly one of the most beautiful in our fine land – a person would be hard pressed to find a site more breath taking ! There was a great turn out of some beautiful Shelties – thanks everyone for supporting the event.

Karen Linkletter wrote –“The CSSA regional was a success! Possibly an annual thing? Would love some feedback?”—so come on Sheltie enthusiasts – lets give the hard working Calgary and Area Sheltie people some encouragement!!

Keystone– Cathy Reid and Cindy Callaghan

We had a great weekend at the AKC Summer Classic and ASSCA sponsored CSSA Regional Specialty. Our Blake, Keystone The Legend Continues was BOW in the all-breed on Friday and WD at the Regional under Charlotte McGowan. He’s maturing nicely! Of special note is the success of the Regional the ASSCA held. This was our first venture in holding a second specialty in the year and it went off without a hitch! Our thanks to all the exhibitors for your support. We couldn’t do it without you!

Director’s Report - Ontario East - Kim Aston

Summer is fast coming to an end and we are left wondering if it actually ever arrived! We have had the wettest summer that I can remember. Nevertheless, Pete and I have been busy at the shows and finished our 9th Canadian and 5th American Champion for the year. Our young special has done us proud and recently picked up

his 5th all breed Best in Show and is currently ranked the #1 Sheltie in Canada.

News from Lynda Morrissey: I am delighted to announce that after only her second agility trial weekend, Opal, (CH Laureate Inception X Kendale Dury Voe Shine On), is now Kendale Opal Essence RN, AGNS, JT. She picked up 2 titles – Jumps and Tunnels (JT) and Standard Novice (AGNS) – with 3 1st and 1 2nd placements. This is only my third agility trial (and title) ever. Gonna be doing more of this with this sweet little girl.

Our brag at Levallon is the acquisition of Levallon Elle Est à Levallon, call name “Elle”, from Bakara Shelties. Dam is Levallon Bakara A Kiss In July (a Am/Can Ch Laureate Invincible ROMC daughter). Looking forward to seeing her in the ring next summer. Joanne Pépin.

We hope to see you all at the shows, and we have a gathering planned. Stayed tuned for details.

Kim Aston

Director’s Report - BC/Yukon/NWT – Joanne Howe So as Summer quickly moves past my heartfelt feelings go to all the members and non-members alike living with the constant threat of fire and for those who have lost so much due to the fires.

Spring/Summer is a crazy busy time of year for dog events on Vancouver Island and the Mainland. I would like to extend a congratulation to all the members that participated in any of these events. Whether it was a BIS or a HIT or just an accomplishment that you and your dog have been working to achieve, be proud of the steps, big or small. They all count. Remember to send in brags too… we all love to hear what you have achieved.

Am/Can Ch. Laureate Macadamia. Tempest was piloted to this title by her great handler, Jade Unrau in two week-

ends. What a team they make!!

Dyniques Shelties Perm Reg’d Marilyn O’Donnell

I am very proud of two Dyniques dogs who did very well at the MCA dog shows this past weekend. First,

congratulations go out to Dyniques O'Danny Boy, "Piper”, owned by Lisa Roy. Piper was High in Class several times and

competed in both Novice A in Obedience and Advanced A in Rally. Piper earned his CD and one leg of Rally Advanced.

Second congratulations to Dyniques International Dynamo, ‘Nash", owned by Karina Smith who won Best of Winners

for five big fat points .Nash now sports 8 points towards his championship.

We are also proud to announce a litter of one female and two males born on July 22nd. This litter was the first for both
