March 5, 2018 Day Chapter
Our own Linda Karns will present a program on Electric Quilt. Most of you have probably heard of Electric Quilt. But what can you do with it? (Partial answer: awesome stuff!) Is it hard to learn or use? What kind of help is available? Is it compatible with PC or Mac? These and other questions answered on a tour and overview of Electric Quilt.
Don’t forget Sit and Sew. Doors open at 9.
Debbie Odor will offer a Quilted Tote Bag Workshop from 9:30 to 12:30. Cost is $10, which will go toward the cost of the sit and sew rent. For material to make optional bag handles there is an additional $2 fee. The class is limited to 20 people. There was a registration form in the February newsletter, or you can call Debbie for more information at 901-218-1345 or 573-442-3021.
March 1, 2018 Starlight Chapter Our own Marty Webster will be providing the program for Starlight in March. She will be sharing quilting ideas, patterns and tips that she has presented for the past three years in the Home Economics Build-ing at the Missouri State Fair. Her presen-tation will include a trunk show of quilts that she has designed and quilted, other finished quilts, and some tops. These were not shown in her “Tribute to her Mother" last year, so you'll see a different array of quilts. Hope to see you then. Mona
BTQG is celebrating Pi Day with a Pizza ‘Pi’ Day fundrais-er at all Shakespeare’s Pizza locations on March 14th! On page 5, there are 2 flyers to copy and distribute far and wide because BTQG will get 15% of the sales of everyone

CEO MESSAGE
MARCH 2018
Hello ladies! I am happy to report that we have several quilts in their final stages and are almost ready to be delivered to the Cancer Centers. But I still have several that are in need of some help with the next step of completion. So I'm planning on using the Sit & Sew time on Monday, March 5th, to rally some help! I'm going to bring in the project kits, along with other supplies to try to get some things onto the next step and everything a bit more organized. Please let me know if you can help me with this endeavor. The more hands, the faster & better things get done! I look forward to seeing you all soon :o) Ustena Simenson
I am going to make this short and sweet. THANK YOU guild members for all the help to make the 40th Anniversary brunch a success. I don’t know when I have seen so much food and, even more important, so many of you enjoying each other. I started to make a list of all who helped by donating to the silent auction (and bidding, of course), setting up and cleaning up the brunch, welcoming members, holding up quilts, sharing a display of our history, and selling our culled library books but I stopped. I realized that no matter how carefully I tried to recall everyone I would overlook someone. So, just a heartfelt THANK YOU. I think the group enjoyed our speaker. Linda Pumphrey has such a long history in watching the industry grow from a different perspective and as a quilt maker herself. She did stay over as my guest due to the icy weather; I heard from her late Sunday afternoon that she was home safely. Just one business note: Please put March 14 on your calendars for the Shakespeare’s fundraiser and put May 5 on your calendar for our garage sale. More about that later. A lucky guild member, Bettina
Motion from February 12, 2018 BTQG Board Meeting:
Motion: Suzanne de Chazal moved to donate the remaining books culled from
the BTQG library to the Daniel Boone Public Library. Second by Merril Winfield.
Motion carried unanimously.
