What a great November! God is continuing to bless and build up His church! Doesn't it seem that there is a turned focus of your family during the month of November and now December? For some that is

good. For some this is slightly nightmare-like and you wish that you could wiggle your nose and it be January. There is also added balance struggles with added events for the calendar. So really the times with the family become more about the tradition and less about the family. This is tragic and I for one am up for the fight to keep this time about really focusing on my family. I want to encourage each of you to do the same.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Based on these verses we can find four key times for families can leverage into their schedules. Meal Times: "When you sit in your house" We have fun with this at our house at dinner and each person answers three questions: What was your favorite thing about today? What was your not favorite thing about today (my son's wording)? (Basically something that happened today that wasn't your favorite.) Lastly, What was your silly thing today? (What happened that was silly or funny). Travel/Drive Time: "When you walk along the road." Perfect time to talk about what you are all learning. Leaving the church find out what each person is taking away that day. Or about something God is teaching you from that days reading of a devotion or scripture. Bed Time: "When you lie down" This is intimate time as a counselor maybe and to listen to the heart of your children. Pray with them and let them pray! Morning Time: "When you get up" Encouraging time as a coach to give your child a sense of value as you about to part with them. Instill purpose and love for them to be able to reflect on that day! Hope this helps you this month and the days ahead! Family is important... make sure they know it! From my family to yours... Merry Christmas!

The month of December is an exciting month and one that I totally love. We often get side tracked with all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and we miss the true meaning of the season, but I always look forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior.

On Sunday December 2nd our preschool choir will begin our service with a wonderful expression of Christmas, and then the PC Choir will present “Legacy of Love”. You will not want to miss this energy packed evening.

JOY! JOY! JOY! is the name of our Christmas Musical. This musical takes a look a several types of Christmas Joy. It looks at the joy of celebrating the season; the happy anticipation of reunions with loved ones; the giddy excitement of children on Christmas morning; the contentment that comes from reliving Christmas memories; the delight in creating new traditions for the future.

There is also the joy of celebrating the first Christmas story: remembering how God’s people rejoiced at the prophecies announcing the Messiah; how Mary’s spirit soared at the heavenly message that she was chosen to bear God’s Son; how the shepherds responded in joy to angelic glories; how the magi joyfully bowed to offer gifts to the King of Kings.

But most of all, there is the joy of celebrating the Savior, Immanuel, God with us. The Father’s greatest joy was sending us His only Son; our greatest joy is believing in Him.

You will not want to miss these performances and the spectacular music that will be a part of this presentation.

Friday - December 7th - 7:00 pm, Saturday – December 8th – 6:00 pm Sunday - December 9th – 3:00 pm

December 11-15th “A Walk Through Bethlehem” will be held nightly form 6:30 – 8:00 pm. You can walk the streets of Bethlehem and visit the shops and meet with the care takers and hear how the Savior has been born in the stable. Make sure that you attend.

If this generation is to mature into our call to lead, we must build our foundation on essentials - those qualities that are inherent and indispensable to defining leadership. These essential qualities are gained through experience, relationship with our peers, and the example of those who have gone before us.

This three week study will begin January 9 on Wednesday nights, facilitated by Bob Sipper in room 215.

We’re all chasing after something, something that we think will make us happy-comfort, success, a bigger house, or someone’s approval. But if we are honest, it is like chasing the wind. God has carved out a space in us that only He can fill. Whether you are running from God or working like crazy to please Him, this view of David’s journey will challenge your view of God.

This study continues on Wednesday nights, facilitated by Gail McKinney in room 203.

What is Love and Respect? We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!

This ongoing study begins January 9 on Wednesday nights at 5:45pm in Room 209 and is facilitated by Bill and Julie Garnett.

On our worst day, God doesn’t walk away from us. And His love for us is not determined by our performance. No matter how many times we mess up, God loves (and never leaves) broken people. Gain a new perspective on the book of Malachi in this study.

This eight week study will begin Jan. 9 on Wednesday nights, facilitated by Suzanne Hardison in room 210.

If you could look into the future, do you think it would excite you or scare you? With our current national culture, world events, and lots of rhetoric, it would be simple to venture to either extreme. I know God has a great grasp on the whole of history. He is not bound by time or space. The words omnipresent and omnipotent rightly describe awesome God. In the same Scripture that reveals the Lord, we also are privileged to see a picture of what the future will be. But that doesn’t always take away the anxiety.

What about for Jesus? Did the words found in Luke 22 when Jesus said, “.... not my will, but yours be done” permeate the process of the virgin birth in Bethlehem? Let’s face it, Jesus’ birth was not without pain, dirt or humility. The glory of heaven was now bound by the same limitations that we have as a baby when we are born. How hard was it for the Father to relinquish care to Mary and Joseph?

Amazed by Jesus presence as Emmanuel, but maybe more amazed by the surrendering obedience to the plan that gave each of us an opportunity to experience real life. From my family, we wish you the amazement of Christmas during this season!

DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone.

This study will begin on January 9 at 6:15pm in Room 202 and be facilitated by Roy and Pansy Amerson.

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a twelve-week class on money taught by America's most trusted financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Dave and his teaching team will walk you through the basics of budgeting,

dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more! This study will begin on January 9 at 5:45pm in Room 205 and be facilitated by Wally Lyon and Greg Pryor.
