IPR COURSESPatent Agent Examination is proposed to be held before December. As per IP India (http://ipindia.gov.in) the Controller General’s office is accepting applications from 17th July’2018 to 16th August’2018.
This Announcement has led to a large number of agencies announcing Training programs for Patent Agent Examination.

Blockbuster movie from China, “Dying to Survive” opens up generic (cancer) medicine export opportunities to China in a totally serendipitous result. “Dying to Survive” tells the story of illegal imports (smuggling) of Sorafenib (Indian generic version of Gleevec) to save leukemia patients. Consequent to success of the movie, and its social impact, the Chinese government has offered to reduce the Customs (import) duty on the generic drugs from India for cancer treatment.

The German Supreme Court has upheld the grant of CL by the Federal Court granting the CL for Raltegravir to Shinogi while deciding an infringement suit by Merck.

Russia has granted a CL (Compulsory License) for Anti-Myeloma drug to NATIVA. The CL was granted by the Russian Judiciary. Celgene’s Revlemid lost patent protection consequent to an infringement suit filed by Celgene against Nativa, a Russian pharma manufacturer who own a patent of its own which could not be operated due to the infringement suit by Celgene. NATIVA is now free to manufacture, Lenalidomide, with a 30% royalty to Celgene.
