بسم هللا الرحمن الرحيم الحمد هلل رب العالمين، وصلى هللا على سيدنا محمد وآله الطاهرين، وسلم تسليما.

In the Name of Allahazwj the Beneficent, the Merciful. The Praise is for Allahazwj Lordazwj of the Worlds, and Blessing be upon our Chief Muhammadsaww and hissaww Purified Progenyasws, and greetings with abundant greetings.

أمير المؤمنين " ع "( )أهل البصرة وترك أموالهم( العلة التى من أجلها قاتل - 321)باب

Chapter 123 – The reason due to which Amir Al-Momineenasws fought the people of Al-Basra but left their wealth alone

حدثنا محمد بن الحسن رضى هللا عنه قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن احمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن الحكم، عن الربيع بن محمد، عن عبد هللا ابن سليمان قال: قلت البي عبد هللا ان الناس يروون ان عليا " ع " قتل أهل

فيها، ودار االسالم ال يحل ما فيها البصرة وترك أموالهم، فقال: ان دار الشرك يحل ما

Muhammad Bin Al Hassan narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Al Saffar, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Rabie Bin Muhammad, from Abdullah Ibn Suleyman who said,

‘I said to Abu Abdullah, ‘The people are reporting that Aliasws fought the people of Al-Basra but left alone their wealth’. So heasws said: ‘In the house of the Polytheism (Mushriqeen), whatever is therein, is Permissible, and the house of Al-Islam, whatever is therein, is not Permissible’.

فقال: ان عليا " ع " إنما من عليهم كما من رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله على أهل مكة وإنما ترك علي " ع " أموالهم النه كان يعلم انه سيكون له شيعة وان دولة الباطل ستظهر عليهم فاراد ان يقتدى به في شيعته وقد رأيتم آثار ذلك هو ذا

ي عليه السالم ولو قتل علي " ع " أهل البصرة جميعا واخذ اموالهم لكان ذلك له حالال لكنه من يسار في الناس بسيرة عل عليهم ليمن على شيعته من بعده.

Heasws said: ‘But rather, Aliasws did a favour upon them, just as Rasool-Allahsaww had done upon the people of Makkah. So, Aliasws left alone their wealth because heasws knew that there would be Shiah for himasws (in the future) and that the government of the Falsehood would be overcoming them. Therefore, heasws intended that this (policy) should be followed with regards to hisasws Shiah. And you have seen the effects of that that this policy of Aliasws flowed among the people. And, had Aliasws killed the people of Al-Basra altogether, and seized their wealth, and that was Permissible unto himasws, but heasws favoured upon them, so that hisasws Shiah would be favoured upon from (the rulers to come) after himasws’.1

وقد روي ان الناس اجتمعوا إلى أمير المؤمنين يوم البصرة فقالوا: يا أمير المؤمنين أقسم بيننا غنايمهم؟ قال: أيكم يأخذ أم المؤمنين في سهمه؟.

And it has been reported that the people gathered to Amir Al Momineen asws

on the day of Al Basra, so they said,

(The narrator says it was asked, ‘O Amir Al-Momineenasws! Would youasws be dividing their wealth as war booty in between us?’ Heasws said: ‘Which ones of you would take ‘The mother of the Believers’ (Ayesha) in his share?’2

العلة التى من أجلها ترك أمير المؤمنين فدك لما ولى الناس( - 321)باب

Chapter 124 – The reason due to which Amir Al-Momineenasws left Fidak when heasws ruled the people

حدثنا علي بن احمد بن محمد الدقاق قال: حدثني محمد بن أبي عبد هللا الكوفي عن موسى بن عمران النخعي عن عمه الحسين بن يزيد النوفلي، عن علي بن سالم عن ابيه، عن ابى بصير عن ابى عبد هللا " ع " قال: قلت له لم لم يأخذ أمير

لى الناس والي علة تركها؟ فقال: الن الظالم والمظلوم كانا قدما على هللا عزوجل، وأثاب هللا المؤمنين " ع " فدك لما و المظلوم، وعاقب الظالم. فكره ان يسترجع شيئا قد عاقب هللا عليه غاصبه وأثاب عليه المغصوب.

Ali Bin Ahmad Bin Muhammad al Daqaq narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah Al Kufy, from Musa Bin Imran Al Nakhai’e, from his uncle Al Husayn Bin Yazeed Al Nowfaly, from Ali Bin Saalim, from his father, from Abu Baseer,

(The narrator) says ‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘Why did Amir Al-Momineenasws not seize Fadak when heasws ruled the people, and what is the reason for leaving it?’ So heasws said: ‘Because the oppressor and the oppressed would be preceding to Allahazwj Might and Majestic, and Allahazwj would Reward the oppressed, and Punish the oppressor. Therefore, heasws disliked that heasws should retrieve something and Allahazwj would be Punishing its usurper over it, and Rewarding the usurped over it’.3

ه هللا قال حدثنا أبى، عن ابيه إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن محمد بن ابى عمير، حدثنا احمد بن علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم رحمعن إبراهيم الكرخي قال: سألت ابا عبد هللا " ع " فقلت له الي علة ترك علي بن ابى طالب " ع " فدك لما ولى الناس

داره فقيل له يارسول هللا أال ترجع فقال: لالقتداء برسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله لما فتح مكة وقد باع عقيل بن ابى طالبإلى دارك؟ فقال صلى هللا عليه وآله وهل ترك عقيل لنا دارا إنا أهل بيت ال نسترجع شيئا يؤخذ منا ظلما. فلذلك لم

يسترجع فدك لما ولى.

Ahmad Bin Ali Bin Ibrahim Bin Hashim narrated to us, from his father, from his father Ibrahim Bin Hashim, from Muhammad Bin Abu Umeyr, from Ibrahim Al Karkhy who said,

‘I asked Abu Abdullahasws, so I said to himasws, ‘For which reason did Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws leave Fadak when heasws ruled the people?’ Heasws said: ‘For (the sake of) following Rasool-Allahsaww, when hesaww conquered Makkah, and Aqeel son of Abu Talibas had sold hissaww house. So it was said to himsaww, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Will yousaww not go to yoursaww house?’ So hesaww said: ‘And has Aqeel left a house for ussaww? Weasws, the Peopleasws of the Household, do not retrieve anything which has been seized from usasws unjustly’. Thus, it was due to that, he (Aliasws) did not retrieve Fadak when heasws ruled’.4

حدثنا احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا احمد بن سعيد الهمداني قال حدثنا علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال عن ابيه عن ابى الحسن " ع قال: سألته عن أمير المؤمنين لم لم يسترجع فدكا لما ولى الناس؟ فقال: النا أهل بيت ال نأخذ حقوقنا

هو ونحن أولياء المؤمنين إنما نحكم لهم ونأخذ حقوقهم ممن ظلمهم وال نأخذ النفسنا.ممن ظلمنا اال

Ahmad Bin Al Hassan Al Qatan narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Saeed Al hamdany, from Ali Bin Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Fazal, from his father,

(The narrator says) ‘I asked Abu Al-Hassanasws about Amir Al-Momineenasws. Why did heasws not retrieve Fadak when heasws ruled the people?’ So heasws said: ‘Because weasws, the Peopleasws of the Household, do not seize ourasws rights from the ones who oppress usasws, as he (Amir Al-Momineenasws) and usasws are the Guardians of the Believers. But rather, weasws pass judgement for them and weasws take their right from the ones who oppress them, but we do not take for ourselvesasws’.5

هللا عليه وآله أمير المؤمنين( )على بن أبى طالب: أبا تراب(العلة التى من أجلها كنى رسول هللا صلى - 321)باب

Chapter 125 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahazwj teknonymed Amir Al-Momineen Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws as ‘Abu Turaab’ (Father of the earth)

لكني اعتمد في ذلك على ما حدثني به احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا أبو العباس احمد بن يحيى بن زكريا قال: حدثنا بكر بن عبد هللا بن حبيب قال: حدثنا تميم بن بهلول، عن ابيه قال: حدثنا أبو الحسن العبدي، عن سليمان بن مهران عن

باس، لم كنى رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله عليا عليه السالم أبا تراب؟ قال النه عباية ابن ربعي قال: قلت لعبدهللا بن عصاحب االرض وحجة هللا على أهلها بعده وبه بقاؤها واليه سكونها ولقد سمعت رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يقول: انه

الثواب والزلفى والكرامة قال يا ليتني كنت ترابا إذا كان يوم القيامة ورأى الكافر ما أعد هللا تبارك وتعالى لشيعة علي من وذلك قول هللا عزوجل: )ويقول الكافر ياليتني كنت ترابا(. -يعني من شيعة علي -

But, what is reliable with regards to that, is what was narrated to me by - Ahmad Bin Al-

Hassan Al-Qataan, from Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Zakariya, from Bakr Bin Abdullah Bin Habeeb, from Tameem Bin Bahloul, from his father, from Abu Al-Hassan Al-Abdy, from Suleyman Bin Mahran, from Abaya Bin Rabi’e who said:

‘I said to Abdullah Bin Ibn Abbas, ‘Why did Rasool-Allahsaww teknonym Aliasws as ‘Abu Turaab’?’ He said, ‘Because heasws is the Master of the earth, and Proof of Allahazwj over its people after himsaww, and its tranquillity is due to himasws. And I heard the Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgement, and the Infidel would see what Allahazwj has Prepared for the Shiah of Aliasws, from the Rewards and the Nearness, and the Prestige, he would say O! I wish I were dust! i.e., from the Shiah of Aliasws and that is in the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [78:40] and the unbeliever shall say: O! I wish I were dust!’.6

حدثني الحسين بن يحيى بن ضريس، عن معاوية بن صالح بن ضريس البجلي قال: حدثنا أبو عوانة قال: حدثنا محمد بن يث، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عمر قال بينا أنا مع يزيد وهشام الزراعي قال: حدثني عبد هللا بن ميمون الطهوي قال: حدثنا ل

النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله في نخيل المدينة وهو يطلب عليا عليه السالم إذا إنتهى إلى حايط فاطلع فيه فنظر إلى علي " ع " وهو يعمل في االرض وقد اغبار، فقال ما ألوم الناس إن يكنوك أبا تراب،

Al Husayn Bin Yahya Bin Zareys narrated to me, from Muawiya Bin Salih Bin Zareys Al Bajaly, from Abu Awana, from Muhammad Bin Yazeed and Hashim Al Zarai’e, from Abdullah Bin Maymoun Al Tahouwi, from Lays, from Mujahid, from Ibn Umar who said,

‘While I was with the Prophetsaww among the palm trees of Al-Medina, and heasws was looking for Aliasws, when hesaww ended up to a garden. So hesaww noticed Aliasws

therein working on the ground, and heasws was covered in dust. So hesaww said: ‘What blame would people place upon mesaww if Isaww were to teknonym youasws as ‘Abu Turaab’’.

فقال النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله أال ارضيك يا على قال: نعم يارسول هللا فاخذ بيده فقال: أنت اخى ووزيري وخليفتي في هللا له أهلي تقضى ديني وتبرئ ذمتي، من احبك في حياة مني فقد قضى له بالجنة، ومن احبك في حياة منك بعدى ختم

باالمن، وااليمان، ومن احبك بعدك ولم يرك ختم هللا له باالمن وااليمان وآمنه يوم الفزع االكبر، ومن مات وهو يبغضك يا علي مات ميتة جاهلية يحاسبه هللا عز وجل بما عمل في االسالم.

. So the Prophetsaww said: ‘Shall Iasws please youasws, O Aliasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, O Rasool-Allahsaww’. So hesaww grabbed himasws by hisasws hand and said: ‘Youasws are mysaww brother, and mysaww Vizier, and mysaww Caliph among mysaww family. Youasws will fulfill mysaww debts, and mysaww responsibilities. The one who loves youasws during mysaww lifetime, Isaww shall judge the Paradise for him, and the one who loves youasws after mysaww lifetime, Allahazwj would Seal the security, and the faith for him. And the one who loves youasws after youasws, and heasws has not seen youasws, Allahazwj would Seal the security and the faith for him, and Give him security on the Day of the great terror. And the one who dies and he has hated youasws, O Aliasws, died the death of the Pre-Islamic period. Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would only Reckon the one with what he had done during Al-Islam’.7

Chapter 126 – The reason due to which Amir Al-Momineenasws used to wear four rings

حدثنا أبو سعيد محمد بن الفضل بن محمد بن اسحاق المذكر المعروف بابى سعيد المعلم النيسابوري بنيسابور قال: اخبرنا أبو جعفر محمد بن احمد بن سعيد قال: حدثنا أبو عبد هللا محمد بن مسلم بن زرارة الرازي قال: حدثنا محمد بن يوسف

ماعيل السندي، عن عبد خير قال: كان لعلى بن ابى طالب أربعة خواتيم يتختم الفريابى قال: حدثنا سفيان الثوري، عن اسبها ياقوت لنبله، وفيروزج لنصره والحديد الصيني لقوته، وعقيق لحرزه. وكان نقش الياقوت: ال إله إال هللا الملك الحق

جميعا، ونقش العقيق ثالثة أسطر: ما المبين، ونقش الفيروزج: هللا الملك الحق المبين، ونقش الحديد الصيني: العزة هلل شاء هللا القوة إال باهلل استغفر هللا.

Abu Saeed Muhammad Bin Al Fazal Bin Muhammad Bin Is’haq Al Mazkar well known as Abu Saeed Al Ma’lam Al Neysabouri narrated to us at Neysabour, from Abu Ja’far Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin Saeed, from Abu Abdullah Muhammad Bin Muslim Bin Zarara Al Razy, from Muhammad Bin Yusuf Al Faryabi, from Sufyan Al Sowry, from Ismail Al Sindy, from Abd Khayr who said,

‘Aliasws had four rings which heasws used to wear – Sapphire for hisasws nobility, and Turquoise for hisasws victory, and the Chinese Iron for hisasws strength, and Garnet for hisasws protection. And it was engraved upon the Sapphire: ‘There is no god except for Allahazwj, the King, the Evident Truth’; and it was engraved upon the Turquoise: ‘Allahazwj, the King, the Evident Truth’; and it was engraved upon the Chinese Iron: ‘All Honour is for Allahazwj’; and three lines were engraved upon the Garnet: ‘Whatever Allahazwj so Desires, There is no Strength except by Allahazwj, I seek Forgiveness of Allahazwj’.8

حدثنا عبد الواحد بن محمد بن عبدوس العطار النيسابوري رضى هللا عنه قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن قتيبة النيسابوري اخبرني عن تختم أمير قال: حدثنا الفضل بن شاذان عن محمد بن أبى عمير قال: قلت البي الحسن موسى عليه السالم

يعرفون به وبالمحافظة على أوقات الصالة وإيتاء الزكاة، ومواساة االخوان، واالمر بالمعروف والنهى عن عالمة لشيعتنا المنكر.

Abdul Wahid Bin Muhammad Bin Abdous Al Ataar Al neysabouri narrated to us, from Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Quteyba Al Neysabouri, from Al Fazal Bin Shazaan, from Muhammad Bin Abu Umeyr who said,

‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan Musaasws, ‘Inform me about the rings of Amir Al-Momineenasws being in hisasws right hand, for which reason was it?’ So heasws said: ‘But rather heasws wore the rings in hisasws right hand, because heasws is the Imamasws of the Companions of the right hand, after Rasool-Allahsaww, and Allahazwj has Praised the Companions of the right hand, and has Condemned the companions of the left hand. And Rasool-Allahsaww used to wear rings in hissaww right hand, and it is a sign for ourasws Shiah to be recognised by, and by the preservation of the timings of the Prayer, and the giving of the Zakat, and equalisation with the brethren, and the enjoining of the good, and the forbidding of the evil’.9

Proximity ones’. Heasws said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! And who are the Proximity ones?’ Hesaww said: ‘Jibraeelas and Mikaeelas’. Heasws said: ‘With what (type of ring) shall Iasws wear, O Rasool-Allahsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘With the red Sapphire, for it accepted for Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, with the Oneness, and (accepted) mesaww with the Prophet-hood, and for youasws, O Aliasws, with the successorship, and for yourasws sonsasws with the Imamate, and for those that love youasws with the Paradise, and for the Shiah of yourasws sonsasws with the Firdows’.11

Chapter 128 – Reason for the Higher Hairline of Amir Al-Momineenasws, and the reason due to which heasws was called ‘Al-Anza’a Al Bateen’

إدريس ومحمد بن يحيى العطار جميعا عن محمد بن حدثنا أبى ومحمد بن الحسن رضى هللا عنهما قاال: حدثنا احمد بناحمد بن يحيى بن عمران االشعري باسناد متصل لم احفظه، ان أمير المؤمنين " ع " قال: إذ أراد هللا بعبد خيرا رماه

بالصلع فتحات الشعر عن رأسه وها أنا ذا.

My father and Muhammad Bin Al Hassan narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Idrees and Muhammad Bin Yahya Al Ataar together, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Imran Al Ash’ary, by an unbroken chain which I did not memorise,

(It has been narrated) from Amir Al-Momineenasws having said: ‘If Allahazwj Intends good with a servant, Casts him with the higher headline in openings of the hair from his head, and see, Iasws am like that’.12

Ahmad Al Hassan Al Qatan narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Zakariyya Al Qataan, from Bakr Bin Abdullah Bin Habeeb, from Tameem Bin Bahloul, from Abaya Bin Rabie who said,

‘A man went to Ibn Abbad, so he said to him, ‘Inform me about the ‘Al Anza’a Al Bateen’ Ali asws Bin Abu Talibasws, for the people are differing with regards to it?’ So Ibn Abbas said to him, ‘O you man! By Allahazwj, you have asked me about a man, none has trodden the gravel after Rasool-Allahsaww more meritorious than himasws, for heasws is a brother of Rasool-Allahsaww, and a son of hisasws uncleas, and hissaww successorasws, and hissaww Caliph over hissaww community, and heasws is removed from the Polytheism, full up from the knowledge. And I have heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘Whoever wants the salvation tomorrow, so let him hold on to a part of this ‘Al Anza’a’, meaning Aliasws’.13

Chapter 129 – The reason due to which Ali asws Bin Abu Talibasws was named as ‘Amir Al-Momineen’, and the reason due to which hisasws sword was named as ‘Zulfiqar’, and the reason due to which Al-Qaimasws has been named as ‘Qaim’, and Al-Mahdiasws as ‘Mahdi’

Ali Bin Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al Daqaq and Muhammad Bin Muhammad Bin Asaam both narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Yaqoub Al Kulayni, from Al Qasim Bin Al A’ala, from Ismail Al Fazary, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour Al A’ama, from Ibn Abu Najran, from the one who mentioned, from Abu Hamza Sabit Bin Dinaar Al Sumaly who said,

‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Why was Aliasws named as ‘Amir Al-Momineen’, and it is a name which no one has been named before himasws, and it is not permissible for anyone to be named as such after himasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Because heasws is a ‘Meerat’ (Treasure trove) of the knowledge which is being supplied from himasws, and it is not supplied from anyone apart from himasws’.

قال فقلت يابن رسول هللا فلم سمي سيفه ذاالفقار؟ فقال " ع ": النه ما ضرب به احد من خلق هللا إال افقره من هذه الدنيا من اهله وولده وافقره في اآلخرة من الجنة

He (Abu Hamza) said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! So why was hisasws sword named as ‘Zulfiqaar’?’ So heasws said: ‘Because heasws did not strike any one from the creatures of Allahazwj with it, except that he was deprived (Afqar) of this world, from his family, and his children, and deprived in the Hereafter from the Paradise’.

فلستم كلكم قايمين بالحق؟ قال: بلى قلت فلم سمي القايم قائما؟ قال: لما قتل جدي الحسين عليه قال: فقلت يابن رسول هللاالسالم ضجت عليه المالئكة إلى هللا تعالى بالبكاء والنحيب وقالوا: إلهنا وسيدنا أتغفل عمن قتل صفوتك وابن صفوتك

تي وجاللي النتقمن منهم ولو بعد حين، وخيرتك من خلقك، فأوحى هللا عز وجل إليهم قروا مالئكتي فوعز

He (Abu Hamza) said, ‘So I said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Are youasws all not standing with the Truth?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘So why has Al-Qaimasws been named as ‘Qaim’ (The one making a stand)?’ Heasws said: ‘When myasws grandfatherasws Al-Husaynasws was killed, the Angels were in uproar to Allahazwj the High with the crying and the wailing, and they said, ‘Our Godazwj, and our Masterasws! Are Youazwj Oblivious from the one who killed Yourazwj elite, and sonasws of Yourazwj elite, and Yourazwj Chosen one from Yourazwj creatures?’ So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Revealed until them: “Calm down Myazwj Angels, for Iazwj Swear by Myazwj Mighty and Myazwj Majesty that Iazwj shall be Exacting revenge from them, even though it may be after a while”.

ثم كشف هللا عز وجل عن االئمة من ولد الحسين " ع " للمالئكة فسرت المالئكة بذلك فإذا احدهم قايم يصلى فقال هللا عز وجل بذلك القائم انتقم منهم.

Then Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Uncovered (the veil) from the Imamsasws from the sonsasws of Al-Husayn asws for the Angels (to see). So the Angels were in

cheerfulness due to that. So there was one of them (Imamsasws) standing, Praying. So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Said: “It is by that standing oneasws, Iazwj shall be Exacting Revenge from them”.14

حدثنا محمد بن محمد بن عصام الكليني قال: حدثنا محمد بن يعقوب عن عالن الكليني رفعه إلى ابى عبد هللا " ع " انه قال: إنما سمي سيف أمير المؤمنين ذاالفقار النه كان في وسطه خط في طوله، فشبه بفقار الظهر فسمى ذاالفقار بذلك

به جبرئيل " ع " من السماء، وكانت حلقته فضة، وهو الذي نادى به مناد من السماء: ال سيف إال ذو وكان سيفا نزل الفقار والفتى إال علي.

Muhammad Bin Muhammad Bin Asaam Al Kulayni, from Muhammad Bin Yaqoub, from Alaan Al Kulayni,

(It has been narrated) raising it to Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘But rather, the sword of Amir Al-Momineenasws was named as ‘Zulfiqar’, be there was in the middle of it, a line written along its length, so it resembles with the backbone, thus it was named as Zulfiqar due to that. And it was a sword which Jibraeelas descended with from the sky, and its enclosure was of silver, and it is that which a Caller Called out with from the sky: ‘There is no sword except for Zulfiqar, and there is no youth (Believer) except for Aliasws’’.15

حدثنا أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد هللا عن الحسن بن على الكوفي، عن عبد هللا بن المغيرة عن سفيان بن عبد المؤمن االنصاري، عن عمرو ابن شمر، عن جابر قال: أقبل رجل إلى ابى جعفر " ع " وانا حاضر، فقال رحمك هللا

زكاة مالي، فقال له أبو جعفر عليه السالام: بل خذها أنت فضعها اقبض هذه الخمسمائة درهم فضعها في موضعها فإنهاإنما يكون هذا إذا قام قائمنا فإنه يقسم بالسوية ويعدل في خلق في جيرانك وااليتام والمساكين، وفي اخوانك من المسلمين،

الرحمان، البر منهم والفاجر، فمن اطاعه فقد اطاع هللا، ومن عصاه فقد عصى هللا

My father narrated to us, from Sa’ad Bin Abdullah, from Al Hassan Bin Ali AL Kufy, from Abdullah Bin Al Mugheira, from Sufyan Bin Abdul Momin Al Ansary, from Amro Ibn Shimr, from Jabir who said,

‘A man came over to Abu Ja’farasws, and I was present, so he said, ‘May Allahazwj have Mercy on youasws! Capture these five hundred Dirham, and place this in its (appropriate) place, for this is Zakat of my wealth’. So Abu Ja’farasws said to him: ‘But, you take it, and place it (give it out) among your neighbours, and the orphans, and the poor, and among your brethren from the Muslims. But rather, this would become (for usasws), when ourasws Qaimasws makes a stand, heasws would distribute with the equality and justice among the creatures of the Beneficent, the righteous from them as well as the immoral. So the one who obeys himasws has obeyed Allahazwj, and the one who disobeys himasws, so he has disobeyed Allahazwj.

التوراة فإنما سمي المهدى النه يهدى المر خفي، يستخرج التوراة وسائر كتب هللا من غار بانطاكية فيحكم بين أهلبالتوراة، وبين اهل االنجيل باالنجيل، وبين اهل الزبور بالزبور، وبين اهل الفرقان بالفرقان، وتجمع إليه أموال الدنيا كلها

ما في بطن االرض وظهرها،

But rather, heasws has been named as ‘Al-Mahdi’ because would be Guided to the hidden matters. Heasws would bring out the Torah and the rest of the Books of Allahazwj from a cave at Antioch. Thus heasws would Judge between the people of the Torah by the Torah, and between the people of the Evangel by the Evangel, and between the people of the Psalms by the Psalms, and between the people of the

Quran by the Quran. And all of the wealth of the world would be gathered to himasws, whatever is in the belly of the earth and upon its back.

محارم هللا، فيعطي شيئا لم يعط احدا كان قبله. فيقول للناس تعالوا إلى ما قطعتم فيه االرحام وسفكتم فيه الدماء وركبتم فيه

So heasws would be saying to the people: ‘Come to what with regards to which you cut off the relationships, and shed blood with regards to it, and for which you rode upon the Prohibitions of Allahazwj. So heasws would give something which no one had given before himasws’.

قال: وقال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله وهو رجل مني إسمه كاسمي يحفظني هللا فيه ويعمل بسنتي يمال االرض قسطا وعدال ونورا بعد ما تمتلي ظلما وجورا وسوءا.

Heasws said: ‘And Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘And heasws is a manasws from mesaww, hisasws name is like mysaww name. May Allahazwj Save mesaww with regards to it. And heasws would be acting in accordance with mysaww Sunnah. Heasws would fill the earth with equity, and justice, and Light, after it having being filled with injustice, and tyranny, and darkness’.16

فداك لم سمي أمير المؤمنين " ع " أمير المؤمنين؟ قال: النه يميرهم العلم أما سمعت كتاب هللا عز وجل )ونمير أهلنا(.

Al Muzaffar Bin Ja’far Bin Al Muzaffar Al Alawy narrated to us, from Ja’far Ibn Muhammad Bin Masoud, from Jibraeel Bin Ahmad, from Al Hassan Bin Kharzad, from Muhammad Bin Musa Bin Al Furat, from Yaqoub Bin Suweyd,

(The narrator says), ‘I said to (Imam) Ja’farasws, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws: ‘Why was Amir Al-Momineenasws named as ‘Amir Al-Momineen’?’ Heasws said: ‘Because heasws supplied them (brought them) the knowledge. But have you not heard the Book of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [12:65] and we will bring grain for our family’.17

نين علي بن أبى طالب قسيم الجنة والنار؟ قال: الن حبه إيمان وبغضه جعفر بن محمد الصادق " ع " لم صار أمير المؤمكفر، وإنما خلقت الجنة الهل االيمان، وخلقت النار الهل الكفر، فهو عليه السالم قسيم الجنة والنار، لهذه العلة فالجنة ال

يدخلها إال أهل محبته، والنار ال يدخلها إال أهل بغضه.

Ahmad Bin Al Hassan Al Qatan narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Yahya Bin Zakariyya Abu Al Abbas Al Qatan, from Muhammad Bin Isamil Al Barmakky, from Abdullah Bin Dahar, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar who said,

‘I said to Abu Abdullah Ja’farasws Bin Muhammad Al-Sadiqasws, ‘Why did Amir Al-Momineen Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws come to be Distributor of the Paradise and the Fire?’ Heasws said: ‘Because, love for himasws is faith, and hate for himasws is Disbelief. But rather, the Pardise was Created for the people of the Eman (faith), and the Fire was Created for the people of the disbelief. Therefore, heasws is the Distributor of the Paradise and the Fire, due to this reason. So the Paradise, none shall enter it except for the people who love himasws, and the Fire, none shall enter it except for the people who hate himasws’.

قال المفضل: فقلت يابن رسول هللا فاالنبياء واالوصياء عليهم السالم كانوا يحبونه واعدائهم كانوا يبغضونه؟ قال نعم قلت قال: أما علمت ان النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله قال يوم خيبر: العطين الراية غدا رجال يحب هللا ورسوله ويحبه فكيف ذلك؟

قلت بلى، هللا ورسوله ما يرجع حتى يفتح هللا على يديه، فدفع الراية إلى علي عليه السالم ففتح هللا تعالى على يديه.

Al-Mufazzal narrates, ‘So I said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! So the Prophetsas, and the successorsas used to love himasws, and theiras enemies used to hate himasws?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘So how can that be?’ Heasws said: ‘But do you not know that the Prophetsaww said on the Day of Khyber: ‘Isaww shall be giving the flag tomorrow to a man who loves Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, and Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww love himasws. Heasws would not return Allahazwj Grants himasws victory by hisasws hands’? So hesaww handed over the flag to Aliasws. Thus Allahazwj Granted victory by hisasws hands’. I said, ‘Yes’.

قال: أما علمت ان رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله لما أتى بالطائر المشوي قال صلى هللا عليه وآله اللهم إئتني بأحب خلقك قلت بلى، -وعنى به عليا " ع " -اليك وإلي يأكل معي من هذا الطائر

Heasws said: ‘But, do you know that when Rasool-Allahsaww was brought a grilled chicken, hesaww said: ‘O Allahazwj! Get the one most Beloved to Youazwj and to mesaww to come and eat with mesaww, from this bird’ – and hesaww meant Aliasws by it?’ I said, ‘Yes’.

قال فهل يجوز أن ال يحب انبياء هللا ورسله واوصيائهم عليهم السالم رجال يحبه هللا ورسوله ويحب هللا ورسوله. فقلت له ال، قال: فهل يجوز ان يكون المؤمنون من اممهم ال يحبون حبيب هللا وحبيب رسوله، وانبيائه عليهم السالم؟ قلت ال،

Heasws said: ‘So is it Permissible that the Prophetsas of Allahazwj, and theiras successorsas did not love a man who is Loved by Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, and heasws loved Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww?’ So I said to himasws, ‘No’. So is it Permissible that the Believers who happened to be in theiras communities were not loving the Beloved one of Allahazwj, and a beloved one of Hisazwj Rasoolsas, and the Hisazwj Prophetsas?’ I said, ‘No’.

تهم مبغضين، قلت نعم، قال: فال يدخل الجنة إالمن قال: فقد ثبت ان اعدائهم والمخالفين لهم كانوا لهم ولجميع أهل محب أحبه من االولين واآلخرين وال يدخل النار إال من أبغضه من االولين واآلخرين فهو إذن قسيم الجنة والنار.

Heasws said: ‘It has thus been proved that theiras enemies and the adversaries, it would be that for them, and for the entirety of those that loved themas, and the hateful ones’. I said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘Therefore, none shall enter the Paradise except the one who loves himasws, from the former ones and the later ones; and none shall enter the Fire except the one who hates himasws, from the former ones and the later ones. Thus, then, heasws is the Distributor of the Paradise and the Fire’.

فزدني مما علمك هللا، قال: سل يا مفضل فقلت قال المفضل بن عمر: فقلت له يابن رسول هللا فرجت عني فرج هللا عنك له يابن رسول هللا فعلي بن أبى طالب عليه السالم يدخل محبه الجنة ومبغضه النار؟ أو رضوان ومالك؟

Al-Mufazzal Ibn Umar said, ‘So I said to himasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Relieve from me (the understanding of matters), may Allahazwj Relieve youasws’. Heasws said: ‘Ask, O Mufazzal!’ So I said to himasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! So Aliasws would be entering those that love himasws into the Paradise, and those that hate himasws into the Fire? Or would it be Rizwaan and Maalik (the two Keepers)?’

فقال يا مفضل أما علمت ان هللا تبارك وتعالى بعث رسول صلى هللا عليه وآله وهو روح إلى االنبياء عليهم السالم، وهم ه واتباع أمره ووعدهم الجنة على ذلك أرواح قبل خلق الخلق بالفي عام، قال: أما علمت انه دعاهم إلى توحيد هللا وطاعت

واوعد من خالف ما اجابوا إليه وانكره النار قلت بلى

So heasws said: ‘O Mufazzal! But, know that Allahazwj Blessed and High Sent Rasoolsaww to the Prophetsas, and hesaww was a spirit, and theyas were spirits, before the Creation of the creation by two thousand years. But know, that hesaww called themas to the Oneness of Allahazwj, and being obedient to Himazwj, and the following of Hisazwj Commands, and promised themas the Paradise upon that, and promised the ones who opposed and did not respond to themas, and rejected themas, (promised) the Fire’. I said, ‘Yes’.

قال: أفليس النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله ضامنا لما وعد واوعد عن ربه عزوجل، قلت بلى قال: أو ليس علي بن ابى طالب ليفته وإمام امته؟ قلت بلى، قال: اوليس رضوان وملك من جملة المالئكة والمستغفرين لشيعته الناجين بمحبته؟ قلت بلى، خ

قال: فعلي ابن ابى طالب إذن قسيم الجنة والنار عن رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله ورضوان ومالك صادران عن أمره بامر هللا تبارك وتعالى،

Heasws said: ‘So, is not the Prophetsaww therefore responsible, when hesaww promised and promise on behalf of hissaww Lordazwj Mighty and Majestic?’ I said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘Or is not Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws hissaww Caliph and an Imamasws of hissaww community?’ I said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘Or are not Rizwan and Maalik (the two Keepers), from the totality of the Angels, and the seekers of Forgiveness for hisasws Shiah, the salvaged ones due to hisasws love?’ I said, ‘Yes’. Heasws said: ‘Therefore Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws is the Distributor of the Paradise and the Fire, from Rasool-Allahsaww, and Rizwan and Maalik (the two Keepers) are the implementers of hisasws orders by the Command of Allahazwj Blessed and High.

مكنونه ال تخرجه إال إلى أهله.يا مفضل خذ هذا فإنه من مخزون العلم و

O Mufazzal! Take this, for it is from the treasured knowledge, and conceal it. Do not bring it out (to anyone) except to the one who is deserving of it’.18

My father said, ‘Sa’ad Bin Abdullah narrated to us, from Abdullah, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, and Abdullah Bin Aamir Bin Saeed, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar,

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘Amir Al-Momineenasws said: ‘Iasws am the Distributor of Allahazwj between the Paradise and the Fire, and Iasws am the Great Differentiator, and Iasws am the owner of the staff and the branding (‘He is a Believer and he is an Infidel’)’.19

حدثنا محمد بن الحسن رضى هللا عنه قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار قال حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن ابى الخطاب، عن موسى بن سعدان عن عبد هللا بن القاسم الحضرمي، عن سماعة بن مهران قال: قال أبو عبد هللا " ع " إذا كان يوم

جل يقوم ملك عن يمينه وملك عن يساره فينادي الذي عن يمينه يقول: القيامة وضع منبر يراه جميع الخاليق يقف عليه ريا معشر الخاليق هذا علي بن ابى طالب صاحب الجنة يدخل الجنة من شاء، وينادي الذي عن يساره يا معشر الخاليق

هذا على بن ابى طالب صاحب النار يدخلها من شاء.

Muhammad Bin Al Hassan narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Al Saffar, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn Bin Abu Al Khataab, from Musa Bin Sa’dan, from Abdullah Bin Al Qasim Al Hazramy, from Sama’at Bin Mahran who said,

‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgement, a Pulpit would be placed which the entirety of the creatures would see. A man would stand upon it, and an Angel would stand on the right of it, and an Angel would stand upon its left. So the one upon the right of it would call out: ‘O group of creatures! This is Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, Owner of the Paradise, and heasws would be entering into the Paradise whoever heasws so desires to!’ And the one on the left of it would call out: ‘O group of creatures! This is Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, Owner of the Fire, and heasws would be entering into the Paradise whoever heasws so desires to!’20

قال: ان حلقة باب الجنة من ياقوتة حمراء على صفائح الذهب فإذا دقت الحلقة على الصفيحة طنت وقالت: يا علي:

My father said, ‘Sa’ad Bin Abdullah narrated to us, from Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Al Saqafy, from Muhammad Bin Dawood Al Daynouri, from Manzar Al sha’rany, from Sa’ad Bin Zayd, from Abu Qabeel, from Abu Al Jaroud,

(It has been narrated) raising it to the Prophetsaww having said: ‘The door of the Paradise has been Created from red rubies upon gold plates. So when its ring (knob) is knocked upon the plates, it rings and says: ‘O Aliasws! (يا علي)’.21

بين الكواكب فال يبقى يومئذ نبي وال صديق وال شهيد إال قال: طوبى لمن كانت هذه الدرجة درجته، فينادى مناد يسمع النداء جميع النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والمؤمنين هذه درجة محمد.

My father said, ‘Sa’ad Bin Abdullah narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Ibn Isa, from Al Abbas Bin marouf, from Abdullah Bin Al Mugheira Al Khazaz, from Abu Hafs Al Abady, from Abu Haroun Al Abdy, from Abu Saeed Al Khudry who said,

‘The Prophetsaww was saying: ‘When you all supplicate to Allahazwj for mesaww, so ask Himazwj for the Means (الوسيلة)’. So we asked the Prophetsaww about the Means. So hesaww said: ‘It is mysaww Level in the Paradise, and it is of a thousand stepping stones. In between a stepping stone and a stepping stone would take a racing horse a month to travel. And in between a stepping stone and another stepping stone are links of Aquamarine, to another stepping stone of Sapphire, and to a stepping stone of gold, to a stepping stone of silver.

So Isaww would be give it, on the Day of Judgement, until it is established with the Levels of the Prophetsas. So it would be among the Levels of the Prophets like the full moon is in between the stars. Thus, not a single Prophetsaww would remain on the Day, nor a Truthful, nor a Martyr, except that he would say: ‘Congratulations to the one for whom this Level is as a Level’. So a Caller would Call out which the entirety of the Prophetsas, and the Truthful, and the Martyrs, and the Believers would hear: ‘This is the Level of Muhammadsaww!’

قال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله فأقبل أنا يومئذ متزرا بريطة من نور على تاج الملك، واكليل الكرامة والمالئكة الكرام وعلي بن ابى طالب أمامى ولوائي بيده وهو لواء الحمد مكتوب عليه: )ال إله إال هللا المفلحون هم الفائزون باهلل(

Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘So Isaww would come on that Day, wearing robes of Light and a royal crown upon mesaww, and a crown of dignity, flanked with the honourable Angels. And Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws would be in front of mesaww, and mysaww flag would be in hisasws hand, and it is the flag of Praise (لواء الحمد), upon which would be inscribed: ‘There is no god except for Allahazwj. The successful ones are the winners with Allahazwj’.

فإذا مررنا بالنبيين قالوا ملكين مقربين، وإذا مررنا بالمالئكة قالوا هذان ملكان ولم نعرفهما ولم نرهما، وإذا مررنا بالمؤمنين قالوا هذان نبيان مرسالن حتى أعلو الدرجة وعلي يتبعني حتى إذا صرف في أعال درجة منها وعلي أسفل مني

ال وصى وال مؤمن إال رفعوا رؤوسهم إلى يقولون طوبى لهذين العبدين ما بدرجة وبيده لوائى فال يبقى يومئذ نبي واكرمهما على هللا تعالى فيأتى النداء من عند هللا تعالى يسمع النبيون وجميع الخلق: هذا حبيبي محمد وهذا وليي علي

طوبى لمن أحبه وويل لمن ابغضه وكذب عليه،

So the Prophetsas would pass by usasws, so theyas would say: ‘These two are Angels of Proximity. And when the Angels pass by usasws, they would say: ‘These are two Angels whom we do not recognise, nor have we seen these two before. And when the Believers pass by usasws, they would say, ‘These are two Prophetsas, two Mursilsas’, until Isaww go a Level higher, and Aliasws would follow mesaww, and Isaww reach the highest Level, and Aliasws being a Level lower than minesaww, and in hisasws hand would be mysaww flag, so there would not remain on that Day, a single Prophetas, nor a successoras, nor a Believer, except that they would all raise their heads and would be saying: ‘Congratulations to these two servants. How prestigious are these two to Allahazwj’. So there would come the Call from the Presence of Allahazwj the High, which the Prophets and all the creatures would hear: “This is

Myazwj Beloved Muhammadsaww, and this is hisas Guardian Aliasws! Congratulations to the one who loved himasws, and woe be unto the one who hated himasws and belied against himasws”.

قال النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله لعلي عليه السالم يا علي فال يبقى يومئذ في مشهد القيامة احد يحبك إال استروح إلى هذا وجهه واضطربت الكالم وابيض وجهه وفرح قلبه وال يبقى احد ممن عاداك أو نصب لك حربا أو جحد لك حقا إال أسود

قدماه،

The Prophetsaww said to Aliasws: ‘O Aliasws! So there would not remain on that Day in the spectacle of the Day of Judgement, anyone who loves youasws except that he would be cheerful upon this speech, and his face would be whitened, and his heart would be joyful. And there would not remain anyone from yourasws enemies, or one who established a war against youasws, or fought against youasws of yourasws rights, except that his face would be blackened, and his legs would tremble’.

ثم قال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله فبينا أنا كذلك إذا ملكان قد اقبال إلي اما احدهما فرضوان خازن الجنة، وأما اآلخر ول هللا فارد عليه السالم، وأقول أيها الملك الطيب فمالك خازن النار فيدنو رضوان فيسلم علي فيقول السالم عليك يا رس

الريح الحسن الوجه الكريم على ربه من أنت؟ فيقول انا رضوان خازن الجنة امرني ربى آتيك بمفاتيح الجنة فادفعها اليك لب فيدفعها إلى فخذها يا احمد فاقول قد قبلت ذلك من ربى فله الحمد على ما أنعم به علي فادفعها إلى أخي علي بن ابى طا

علي ويرجع رضوان

Then Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘So during that, two Angels would come forward towards mesaww. As for one of the two, so it would be Rizwan, the Keeper of the Paradise, and as for the other, so it would be Malik, the Keeper of the Fire. So Rziwan would approach and greet mesaww, and he would be saying: ‘Peace be upon yousaww, O Rasool-Allahsaww’. So Isaww would greet him in return, and Isaww would be saying: ‘O you Angel! With such aromatic fragrance and beauty of the face, prestigious to his Lordazwj, who are you?’ So he would be saying: ‘I am Rizwan, Keeper of the Paradise. My Lordazwj Commands me that I should give yousaww the keys of the Paradise, and hand these over to yousaww. So take these, O Ahmadsaww!’ So Isaww would say, ‘Isaww accept that from mysaww Lordazwj. For Himazwj is the Praise upon what He azwj has Favoured mesaww with. Hand over these over to mysaww brother Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’. So he would hand these over to Aliasws, and Rizwan would return.

ثم يدنو مالك فيقول السالم عليك يا احمد فاقول السالم عليك ايها الملك ما أنكر رؤيتك وأقبح وجهك من أنت؟ فيقول: انا مالك خازن النار امرني ربى ان آتيك بمقاليد النار، فاقول قد قبلت ذلك من ربي فله الحمد على ما فضلني به، ادفعها الى

أبي طالب فيدفعها إليه، ثم يرجع مالك أخي علي ابن

Then Malik would approach, so he would say: ‘Peace be upon yousaww, O Ahmadsaww!’ So Isaww would say: ‘And Peace be upon you, O Angel! How harsh is your appearance, and how threatening is your face, who are you?’ So he would say: ‘I am Malik, the Keeper of the Fire. My Lordazwj Commands me that I should come to yousaww with the shackles of the Fire’. So Isaww would say: ‘I have accepted that from mysaww Lordazwj. For Himazwj is the Praise upon what Heazwj has Graced mesaww with. Hand these over to mysaww brother Aliasws Ibn Abu Talibasws’. So he would hand these over to himasws. Then Malik would return.

فيقبل علي ومعه مفاتيح الجنة ومقاليد النار حتى يقف على عجزة جهنم فيأخذ زمامها بيده وقد عال زفيرها واشتد حرها وتطاير شررها فتنادي جهنم جزنى يا علي فقد أطفأ نورك لهبي فيقول لها علي: قري يا جهنم خذي هذا واتركى هذا،

خذي هذا عدوي واتركى هذا وليى،

So Aliasws would go across, and with himasws would be the keys of the Paradise and the shackles of the Fire, until heasws pauses upon the brink of Hell. So heasws would grab its reins by hisasws hand, and its exhalation would be high, and its heat would be intense, and its flames would be flying out. So Hell would call out: ‘Be far from me, for yourasws Light is extinguishing my flames’. So Aliasws would be saying to it: ‘Calm down, O Hell! Take this one and leave this one. Take this enemy of mineasws, and leave this friend of mineasws’.

فلجهنم يومئذ اشد مطاوعة لعلي من غالم احدكم لصاحبه فان شاء يذهبها يمنة، وان شاء يذهبها يسرة، ولجهنم يومئذ اشد مطاوعة لعلي فيما يأمرها به من جميع الخاليق.

So, on that Day, hell would be more obedient to Aliasws than a slave of yours would be to his master. So if heasws so desires, it would make him go rightwards, or if heasws so desires, it would make him go leftwards. And on that Day, Hell would be more obedient to Aliasws with regards to heasws orders it with, than the entirety of the creatures’.22

العلة التى من أجلها أوصى رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله( )إلى علي " ع " دون غيره( - 313)باب

Chapter 131 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahsaww bequeathed to Aliasws besides others

Muhammad Bin Ali Majaylawiya narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Yahya Al Ataar, from Sahl Bin Ziyad Al Admy, from Muhammad Bin Al Waleed Al Sayrafi, from Aban Bin Usman,

بن زياد اآلدمي قال: حدثنا محمد بن على ماجيلويه رضى هللا عنه قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار قال: حدثنا سهل حدثنا محمد بن الوليد الصيرفي، عن ابان بن عثمان، عن ابى عبد هللا عليه السالم عن ابيه عن جده عليهما السالم قال: لما حضرت رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله الوفاة دعا العباس بن عبد المطلب وأمير المؤمنين علي ابن ابى طالب عليه

يا عم محمد، تأخذ تراث محمد وتقضي دينه وتنجز عداته؟ فرد عليه وقال: يارسول هللا صلى هللا السالم فقال للعباس: عليه وآله انا شيخ كبير كثير العيال قليل المال من يطيقك وأنت تباري الريح،

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws having said: ‘When death approached Rasool-Allahsaww, hesaww called Al-Abbas Bin Abdul Muttalib and Amir Al-Momineen Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws. So hesaww said to Al-Abbas: ‘O uncle of Muhammadsaww! Will you take the inheritance of Muhammadsaww, and fulfil hissaww debts and fulfil hissaww promises made?’ So he responded to himsaww and said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! I am old of age, lot of family, and little wealth. Who can endure yousaww, and yousaww are even generous to the winds passing by’.

قال فاطرق صلى هللا عليه وآله هنيئة قال يا عباس اتأخذ تراث رسول هللا وتنجز عداته وتؤدي دينه؟ فقال بأبي أنت وامى انا شيخ كبير كثير العيال قليل المال من يطيقك وأنت تباري الريح،

Heasws said: ‘So hesaww patted him and blessed, and said (again): ‘O Abbas! Will you take the inheritance of Rasool-Allahsaww, and fulfil hissaww promises made, and pay off hissaww debts?’ So he said, ‘May my father and my mother be sacrificed for yousaww! I am old of age, lot of family, and little wealth. Who can endure yousaww, and yousaww are even generous to the winds passing by’.

فقال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله اما انى سأعطيها من يأخذ بحقها، ثم قال: يا علي يا اخا محمد أتنجز عداة محمد وتقضي دينه وتأخذ تراثه؟ قال: نعم بأبي أنت وأمي،

So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘But, Isaww will give it to the one who is deserving of it’. Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! O brother of Muhammadsaww! Will youasws fulfill the promises made by Muhammadsaww, and pay off hissaww debts, and take hissaww inheritance?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes, may myasws fatheras and myasws motheras be sacrificed for yousaww’.

قال فنظرت إليه حتى نزع خاتمه من اصبعه فقال تختم بهذا في حياتي، قال: فنظرت إلى الخاتم حين وضعه علي " ع " ار وعمامتي في إصبعه اليمنى فصاح رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يا بالل علي بالمغفر والدرع والراية وسيفي ذي الفق

كادت تخطف -يعني االبرقة -السحاب والبرد واالبرقة والقضيب )يقال له: الممشوق( فوهللا ما رأيتها قبل ساعتي تيك اجعلها في حلقة الدرع واستوفر بها فقال يا علي: ان جبرئيل اتانى بها فقال يا محمدالجنة، ابرق االبصار فإذا هي من

Heasws said: ‘So hesaww looked at himasws until hesaww removed hissaww ring from hissaww finger, so hesaww said: ‘Wear this ring during mysaww lifetime’. Heasws said: ‘So hesaww looked at the ring when Aliasws put it on hisasws right fingers, and cried out: ‘O Bilal! Bring to mesaww the helmet, and the shield, and the flag, and mysaww sword Zulfiqar, and mysaww turban ‘Al-Sahaab, and the cloak, and the belt, and the walking stick (called Al-Mamshouq), for by Allahazwj! Isaww have not seen during mysaww time a thing’ – meaning the belt – ‘which almost snatches the vision away, for it is from the pitchers of the Paradise’. Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Jibraeelas came to me aww with it, so heas said: ‘O Muhammadsaww! Make it to be in a ring of the shield, and wear it around yourasws waist’.

ثم دعا بزوجي نعال عربيين احدهما: مخصوفة واالخرى غير مخصوفة، والقميص الذي اسرى به فيه، والقميص الذي خرج فيه يوم )أحد( والقالنس الثالث: قلنسوة السفر وقلنسوة العيدين وقلنسوة كان يلبسها ويقعد مع أصحابه، ثم قال

Then hesaww called for a pair of slippers, one of which was sewn and the other was un-sewn; and the shirt which hesaww had worn during the Ascension, and the shirt with which hesaww had come out on the Day of Ohad, and the three hoods – a hood for the travel, and a hood for the two Eids, and a hood which hesaww used to wear whenever hesaww was seated with hissaww companions. Then Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Bilal! Come to me with the two mules – Al Shahba’a and Al Dul Dul; and the two camels – Al Azba’a, and Al Sahba’a; and the two horses – Al Janaaah which used to be paused at the door of the Masjid of Rasool-Allahsaww for the needs of the people, whenever Rasool-Allahsaww used to send the man during a need, so he would ride it, and Heyzoum to which hesaww used to say: ‘Com forward Heyzoum!’; and the donkey Al Yafour’.

ثم قال: يا علي اقبضها في حياتي ال ينازعك فيها أحد بعدي.

Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Take control of these during mysaww lifetime, and let no one snatch it away from youasws after mesaww’.

ثم قال أبو عبد هللا " ع " ان أول شئ مات من الدواب حماره اليعفور توفي ساعة قبض رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله قطع خطامه، ثم مر يركض حتى وافى بئر بنى حطمه بقبا فرمى بنفسه فيها فكانت قبره

Then Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘The first thing which died from the animals was hissaww donkey Al Yafour which died at the time Rasool-Allahsaww passed away. It cut off its halter, then ran over to the well of Hatma at Quba and smashed itself against it and fell down into it. So that was its grave’.

ثم قال أبو عبد هللا " ع ": ان يعفور كلم رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله فقال: بأبي أنت وأمي ان ابي حدثني عن أبيه عن لحمار جده: انه كان مع نوح في السفينة فنظر إليه يوما نوح " ع " ومسح يده على وجهه، ثم قال: يخرج من صلب هذا ا

حمار يركبه سيد النبيين وخاتمهم والحمد هلل الذي جعلني ذلك الحمار.

Then Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘Yafour had spoken to Rasool-Allahsaww saying, ‘May my father and my mother be sacrificed for yousaww! My father used to narrate to me, from his father, from his grandfather that he was with Noahas in the ship. So, one day Noahas looked at him and wiped hisas hand upon his face, then said: ‘There will be coming out from the back of this donkey, a donkey upon which the Chief of the Prophetsas, and theiras Seal’. And the Praise is for Allahazwj who Made me to be that donkey’.23

حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد هللا عن احمد ابن محمد بن عيسى، عن محمد بن خالد، عن إبراهيم بن إسحاق االزدي، عن أبيه قال: أتيت االعمش سليمان بن مهران أسأله عن وصية رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله

يته فحدثني عن زيد بن علي " ع " فقال: لما حضرت رسول هللا صلى هللا فقال: إيت محمد ابن عبد هللا فاسأله، قال: فاتعليه وآله الوفاة ورأسه في حجر علي " ع " والبيت غاص بمن فيه من المهاجرين واالنصار والعباس قاعد قدامه، قال

ؤ كبير السن كثير رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يا عباس أتقبل وصيتي وتقضى ديني وتنجز موعدي؟ فقال: انى امر العيال المال لي فاعادها عليه ثالثا كل ذلك يردها عليه،

Muhammad Bin Musa Bin Al Mutawakkal narrated to us, from Sa’ad Bin Abdullah, from Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ibrahim Bin Is’haq Al Azady, from his father who said,

‘I came over to Al-Amsh Suleyman Bin Mahran to ask him about the bequest of Rasool-Allahsaww, so he said, ‘Go to Muhammad Bin Abdullah and ask him’. So I went over to him, so he narrated to me from Zayd son of Aliasws, so he said, ‘When death presented itself to Rasool-Allahsaww, and hissaww head was in the lap of Aliasws, and the house was full up with the ones who were in it from the Emigrants and the Helpers, and Al-Abbas was seated at hissaww feet. Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Abbas! Do you accept mysaww bequest and to pay off mysaww debts, and fulfill myas promises made?’ So he said, ‘I am a person of old age, with a large family with no wealth to me’. So hesaww repeated it three times to him, and for each of that, that was his response.

So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Isaww shall give it to a man who would take it rightfully, and would not be saying what you are saying’. Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Do youasws accept mysaww bequest, and to pay off mysaww debts, and fulfill mysaww promises made?’

ع ان يجيبه ولقد رأى رأس رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يذهب ويجئ في حجره، ثم اعاد قال: فخنقته العبرة ولم يستط عليه، فقال له علي " ع " نعم بأبي أنت وأمي يارسول هللا،

Heasws said: ‘So the grief choked himasws and heasws could not answer himsaww, and heasws saw the head of Rasool-Allahsaww, going and coming (falling unconscious and waking up intermittently) in hisasws lap. Then hesaww repeated to himasws, so Aliasws said to himsaww: ‘Yes, may myasws fatheras and myasws motheras be sacrificed for yousaww, O Rasool-Allahsaww!

فقال يا بالل: إيت بدرع رسول هللا فأتى بها ثم قال يا بالل: إيت براية رسول هللا فأتى بها، ثم قال يا بالل: إيت ببغلة رسول هللا بسرجها ولجامها فأتى بها، ثم قال يا علي قم فاقبض هذا بشهادة من في البيت من المهاجرين واالنصار كي ال

ينازعك فيه أحد من بعدي،

So hesaww said: ‘O Bilal! Bring the shield of Rasool-Allahsaww! So he came up with. Then hesaww said: ‘Bring the flag of Rasool-Allahsaww’. So he came with it. Then hesaww said: ‘O Bilal! Bring the mule of Rasool-Allahsaww along with its saddle and its bridle’. So he came with it. Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Arise, and take (control of) these in the sight of the ones in the house, from the Emigrants and the Helpers, so that no one should snatch these away from youasws from after mesaww’.

ذلك حتى استودع جميع ذلك في منزله ثم رجع. قال: فقام علي " ع " وحمل

He (the narrator) said: ‘So Aliasws arose, and carried those until entrusted all of that in hisasws house, then returned’.24

Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! Do youasws accept mysaww bequest, and pay off mysaww debts, and fulfill mysaww promises made?’ He (the narrator) said, ‘So the grief choked himasws. Then hesaww repeated it to himasws, so Aliasws said: ‘Yes, O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So hesaww said: ‘O Bilal! Bring the shild of Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So he came with it. Then hesaww said: ‘O Bilal! (Bring) the sword of Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So he came with it. Then hesaww said: ‘Bring the flag of Rasool-Allahsaww’. So he came with it. Hesaww even got him to bring the belt which hesaww used to wear around hissaww waist during the wars, so he came with it.

ثم قال يا بالل: إيت ببغلة رسول هللا بسرجها ولجامها فاتى بها، ثم قال لعلي قم فاقبض هذا بشهادة من هنا من المهاجرين واالنصار حتى ال ينازعك فيه أحد من بعدي،

Then hesaww said: ‘O Bilal! Bring the mule of Rasool-Allahsaww along with its saddle and its bridle’. So he came with it. Then hesaww said to Aliasws: ‘Arise, and take (control of) these in the sight of the ones who are here, from the Emigrants and the Helpers, so that no one would snatch these from youasws from after mesaww’.

قال فقام علي " ع " وحمل ذلك حتى استودعه منزله ثم رجع.

He (the narrator) said, ‘So Aliasws arose, and carried that until heasws entrusted these in hisasws house, then returned’.25

Chapter 133 – The reason due to which Aliasws inherited from Rasool-Allahsaww among others

Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Is’haq Al Talaqany narrated to us, from Abdul Aziz Bin Yahya Al Jaloudy at Al Basra, from Muhammad Bin Zakariyya, from Abdul Wahid Ibn Gayas, Abu Abaya, from Amro Bin Al Mugheira, from Abu Sadiq, from Rabi’e Ibn Najad that,

محمد بن إبراهيم بن اسحاق الطالقاني رحمه هللا قال: حدثني عبد العزيز بن يحيى الجلودي بالبصرة قال حدثنا حدثنا محمد بن زكريا قال حدثنا عبد الواحد ابن غياث قال: حدثنا أبو عباية، عن عمرو بن المغيرة، عن ابى صادق، عن ربيعة

المؤمنين بما ورثت ابن عمك دون عمك؟ فقال: يا معشر الناس، فافتحوا ابن ناجد، ان رجال قال لعلي عليه السالم يا أمير آذانكم واستمعوا. فقال عليه السالم جمعنا رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله بني عبد المطلب في بيت رجل منا أوقال: اكبرنا.

‘A man said to Aliasws, ‘O Amir Al-Momineenasws! By what reason did youasws inherit yourasws cousinsaww, besides yourasws uncle?’ So heasws said: ‘O group of people! Unblock your ears and listen carefully!’ So heasws said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww gathered us, the Clan of Abd Al-Muttalibas, in a house of a man from us’ – or said: ‘An elderly one of us’.

فدعا بمد ونصف من طعام وقدح له يقال له الغمر فاكلنا وشربنا وبقى الطعام كما هو والشراب كما هو وفينا من ياكل الجذعة ويشرب الفرق فقال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله ان قد ترون هذه فايكم يبايعني على انه اخي ووارثى ووصيي؟

وم وقلت أنا، قال اجلس، ثم قال ذلك ثالث مرات، كل ذلك اقوم إليه فيقول: اجلس، حتى كان فقمت إليه وكنت اصغر الق في الثالثة: فضرب بيده على يدي فبذلك ورثت ابن عمي دون عمي.

So hesaww called for a Mudd and a half of food in a bowl of hissaww called Al-Ghamr. So we ate and drank, and the food still remained as it was before, and the drink remained just as it was before, and among us were ones who used to eat a whole animal, and drink a pail (bucket) of water. So, Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Have you been seeing this? So which one of you would pledge his allegiance to mesaww upon that he would be mysaww brother, and mysaww inheritor, and mysaww successor?’ So Iasws stood up, and Iasws was the smallest (in age) of the people, and Iasws said: ‘Iasws will!’ Hesaww said: ‘Be seated!’ Then hesaww said that three times, and for each of that, Iasws stood up, hesaww was saying: ‘Be seated!’, to the extent that during the third (time), hesaww struck hissaww hand upon myasws hand. Thus, by that, Iasws inherited from myasws unclesaww among my uncle (Al Abbas)’.26

وعنه قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز قال: حدثنا المغيرة بن محمد قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن محمد بن عبد الرحمان االزدي قال: حدثنا قيس بن الربيع وشريك بن عبد هللا بن االعمش، عن المنهال بن عمرو، عن عبد هللا بن الحارث بن نوفل، عن علي

يرتك االقربين ورهطك المخلصين( دعا رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله بنى بن ابى طالب " ع " قال: لما نزلت )وانذر عشعبد المطلب وهم إذ ذاك اربعون رجال يزيدون رجال أو ينقصون رجال فقال أيكم يكون اخي ووصيي ووارثى ووزيري

وخليفتي فيكم بعدي؟

And from him who said, ‘Abdul Aziz narrated to us, from Al Mugheira Bin Muhammad, from Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al Azdy, from Qays Bin Al Rabi’e and Shareek Bin Abdullah Bin Al Amsh, from Al Minhal Bin Amro, from Abdullah Bin Al Haris Bin Nowfal,

(It has been narrated) from Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws having said: ‘When the Verse [26:214] And warn your nearest relations and your group of sincere ones, was Revealed, Rasool-Allahsaww invited the Clan of Abdul Muttalibas, and they were forty men, one more or one less. So hesaww said: ‘Which one of you would like to become mysaww brother, and mysaww inheritor, and mysaww Vizier, and mysaww successor, and mysaww Caliph among you all, after mesaww?’

لي، فقلت: أنا، يا رسول هللا. فقال: يا بني عبد المطلب، هذا فعرض ذلك عليهم رجال رجال، كلهم يأبى ذلك، حتى أتي ع

أخي و وارثي، و وزيري، و خليفتي فيكم بعدي.

So, heaww presented that to man by man. All of them refused that, until it came to measws, so Iasws said: ‘Measws! O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So hesaww said: ‘O Clan of Abdul Muttalibas! This is mysaww brother, and mysaww inheritor, and mysaww Vizier, and mysaww Caliph among you all after mesaww’.

«.فقام القوم يضحك بعضهم إلى بعض، و يقولون ألبي طالب: قد أمرك أن تسمع و تطيع لهذا الغالم!

So the people arose laughing with each other, and they were saying to Abu Talibas, ‘Hesaww has ordered youas that youas should listen and be obedient to this boy (of yoursas)!’27

entered into the consultation

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا على بن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن ابيه باسناده رفعه إلى ابى عبد هللا " ع " قال: لما كتب عمر كتاب الشورى بدأ بعثمان في اول الصحيفة وأخر عليا أمير المؤمنين " ع "! فجعله في آخر القوم، فقال العباس: يا أمير

وم قبض رسول هللا ان تمد يدك فنبايعك فإن هذا االمر لمن سبق إليه فعصيتني المؤمنين يا ابا الحسن أشرت عليك في ي حتى بويع أبو بكر

My father said, ‘Ali Bin Ibrahim Bin Hashim narrated to us, from his father, by his chain raising it to

Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘When Umar wrote the list (of the participants) for the consultation, he began by Usman on the first page, and Ali Amir Al-Momineenasws as the last one. So he made himasws to be the last of the people. So Al-Abbas said, ‘O Amir Al Momineenasws! O Abu Al Hassanasws! I indicated to you on the day Rasool-Allahsaww passed away, to extend yourasws hand, so that we would pledge our allegiances to youasws, for this matter (Caliphate) is for the one who precedes to it, but youasws disobeyed me until allegiances were pledged to Abu Bakr.

وانا أشير عليك اليوم ان عمر قد كتب أسمك في الشورى وجعلك آخر القوم وهم يخرجونك منها فاطعني وال تدخل في الشورى فلم يجبه بشئ

And I indicated to youasws on the day that Umar had written yourasws name (to be) in the consultation, and made youasws to be at the last of the people, and they were taking youasws out from it. So if only youasws had obeyed me and not entered into the consultation’. But, heasws did not answer him with anything.

امر، أما سمعت قوله على المنبر ماكان هللا فلما بويع عثمان قال له العباس: الم أقل لك، قال له يا عم انه قد خفى عليك ليجمع الهل هذا البيت الخالفة والنبوة فاردت ان يكذب نفسه بلسانه فيعلم الناس ان قوله باالمس كان كذبا باطال وإنا

نصلح للخالفة، فسكت العباس.

So when allegiances were pledge to Usman, Al-Abbas said to himasws, ‘Did I not tell youasws?’ Heasws said to him: ‘O uncle! A matter has been hidden from you. Have you not heard his own speech upon the Pulpit, ‘Allahazwj would not gather the Prophet-hood and the Caliphate together for the Peopleasws of this Household’? So Iasws intended him to belie himself by his own tongue, so that the people would know that his speech yesterday was a lie, false, and that weasws are the correct ones for the Caliphate’. So Al-Abbas was silent’.28

Chapter 135 – The reason due to which one of the Imamsasws came

out with the sword, and oneasws of themasws necessitated sitting at

hisasws house, and oneasws of themasws manifested hisasws command,

and oneasws of themasws concealed hisasws command, and oneasws of

themasws publicised the knowledges, and oneasws of themasws did not

publicise it

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا عبد هللا بن جعفر الحميري، عن ابى القاسم الهاشمي، عن عبيد بن قيس االنصاري قال: حدثنا الحسن بن سماعة عن ابى عبد هللا عليه السالم قال: نزل جبرئيل " ع " على رسول صلى هللا عليه وآله بصحيفة من

ه وفيه خواتيم من الذهب فقال له: يا محمد هذه وصيتك إلى النجيب من أهلك، السماء لم ينزل هللا تعالى كتابا قبله وال بعد فقال له يا جبرئيل من النجيب من أهلي؟ قال علي بن أبي طالب مره إذا توفيت ان يفك خاتمها ويعمل بما فيه

My father said, ‘Abdullah Bin Ja’far Al Humeyri narrated to us, from Abu Al Qasim Al Hashimy, from Ubeyd Bin Qays Al Ansary, from Al Hassan Bin Sama’at,

Abu Abdullahasws has said: ‘Jibraeelas descended unto Rasool-Allahsaww with a Parchment from the sky. Allahazwj had not Send down a writing before it nor after it, and in it were seals of gold. So heas said to himsaww: ‘O Muhammadsaww! This here is yoursaww bequest to the most excellent one of yoursaww family’. So hesaww said to himas: ‘O Jibraeelas! Who is the most excellent one from mysaww family?’ Heas said: ‘Aliasws Bin Abu Talibas. Order himasws, that when yousaww pass away, heasws should break its seal and act in accordance with whatever is in it’.

فلما قبض رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله فك علي " ع " خاتما ثم عمل بما فيه وما تعداه، ثم دفعها إلى الحسن بن علي بما فيه وما تعداه، ثم دفعها إلى الحسين بن علي " ع " ففك خاتما فوجد فيه: اخرج بقوم إلى عليه السالم ففك خاتما وعمل

So when Rasool-Allahsaww passed away, Aliasws broke its seal, then acted in accordance with what was in it, and did not exceed it. Then heasws handed it over to Al-Hassanasws Bin Aliasws. So heas broke its seal and acted in accordance with what was in it, and did not exceed it. Then heasws handed it over to Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, so heasws broke its seal, and found in it (written): ‘Go out with a people to the martyrdom for them along with youasws, and sacrifice yourasws self for the Sake of Allahazwj’. So heasws acted in accordance with what was in it, and did not exceed it.

جل بعده ففك خاتما فوجد فيه أطرق واصمت والزم منزلك واعبد ربك حتى يأتيك اليقين، ثم دفعها إلى ثم دفعها إلى ر رجل بعده ففك خاتما فوجد فيه: ان حدث الناس وافتهم وانشر علم آبائك، فعمل بما فيه وما تعداه.

Then heasws handed it over to a man from after himasws, so heasws broke its seal, and found (written in it): ‘Remain silent, and be quiet, [15:99] And worship your Lord until there comes to you certainty’. Then heasws handed it over to a man from after himasws, so heasws broke its seal, and found (written) in it: ‘Narrate to the people, and meet with them, and publicise the Knowledge of yourasws forefathersasws’. So heasws acted in accordance with what was in it, and did not exceed it.

د فيه: ان حدث الناس وافتهم وصدق آبائك وال تخافن إال هللا فإنك في حرز من هللا ثم دفعها إلى رجل بعده ففك خاتما فوج وضمان. وهو يدفعها إلى رجل بعده ويدفعها من بعده إلى من بعده إلى يوم القيامة.

Then heasws handed it over to a man from after himasws, so heasws broke its seal and found (written) in it: ‘Narrate to the people, and meet with them, and ratify yourasws forefathersasws, and do not fear except Allahazwj, for youasws are in the Protection of Allahazwj and Hisazwj Responsibility’. And it would be handed it over to a man from after himasws, and handed over to a man from after himasws, to a man from after himasws, until the Day of Judgement’.29

Chapter 136 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahsaww handed

over two portions for Aliasws (from the war booty), and hesaww had

حدثنا احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمان بن محمد الحسنى قال حدثني فرات بن إبراهيم الكوفي قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن الحسن اللؤلؤئى قال: حدثنا علي بن نوح قال حدثنا أبي، عن محمد بن مروان، عن ابى داود، عن معاذ

ليفة بن سليمان الجهمى، عن أبى سلمة بن عبد الرحمان، عن ابى هريرة بن سالم، عن بشر بن إبراهيم االنصاري، عن خقال: فلما رجع النبي إلى المدينة وكان علي قد تخلف على أهله قسم المغانم فدفع إلى علي بن أبى طالب " ع " سهمين

حمل على المشركين من يمين وهو بالمدينة متخلف وقال: معاشر الناس، ناشدتكم باهلل وبرسوله ألم تروا إلى الفارس الذي العسكر فهزمهم ثم رجع إلي فقال: يا محمد ان لي معك سهما وقد جعلته لعلي بن ابى طالب وهو جبرئيل " ع "

Ahmad Bin Al Hassan Al Qataan narrated to us, from Abdul Rahman Bin Muhammad Al Hasny, from Furat Bin Ibrahim Al Kufy, from Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Al Lu’lui, from Ali Bin Nuh, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Marwan, from Abu Dawood, from Ma’az Bin Saalim, from Bishr Bin Ibrahim Al Ansary, from Khalifat Bin Suleyman Al Jahmy, from Abu Salma Bin Abdul Rahman,

from Abu Hureyra who said, ‘So when the Prophetsaww returned to Al Medina, and Aliasws had been left behind to look after hissaww family, hesaww divided the war booty and handed over two portion to Ali Bin Abu Talibasws, and heasws was behind Al Medina to look at them, and hesaww said: ‘Group of people! We adjure you all with Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww! did you not see the horse rider who was attacking the Polytheists on the right of the army, so he defeated them and returned to mesaww, and said: ‘O Muhammadsaww! For me, with yousaww is one portion (of the war booty), and I have made to be for Ali Bin Abu Talibsaww’. And it was Jibraeelas’.

معاشر الناس ناشدتكم باهلل وبرسوله هل رأيتم الفارس الذي حمل على المشركين من يسار العسكر ثم رجع فكلمني فقال لي يا محمد ان لي معك سهما وقد جعلته لعلي بن ابى طالب فهو ميكائيل وهللا ما دفعت إلى علي عليه السالم إال سهم

Group of the people! We adjure you all with Allahazwj and with Hisazwj Rasoolsaww! Did you see the horse rider who was attacking the Polytheists from the left of the army, then he returned to mesaww and spoke to me saying: ‘For me, O Muhammadsaww, is one portion (of war booty) with yousaww, and I have made it to be for Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’. So it was Mikaeelas. By Allahazwj! Isaww have not handed over to Aliasws Bin

Abu Talibasws except for the portions of Jibraeelas and Mikaeelas’. So all of the people exclaimed Takbeer (Greatness of Allahazwj)’.30

وحدثني بهذا الحديث الحسن بن محمد الهاشمي الكوفي، عن فرات بن إبراهيم، باسناد مثله سواء.

And Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Al Hashimy Al Kufy narrated to me, by this chain, from Furat Bin Ibrahim, by a chain similar to it, same (Hadeeth) as this (above)’.31

would become the first one to enter the Paradise

عن جده عن الحسين بن علي عن ابيه علي ابن ابى طالب عليهم السالم قال: قال الحسين بن علي بن الحسين، عن ابيه،لي رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله أنت أول من يدخل الجنة، فقلت يارسول هللا ادخلها قبلك؟ قال: نعم صاحب لوائى في

اآلخرة كما إنك صاحب لوائى في الدنيا وحامل اللواء هو المتقدم،

Al Husayn Bin Ali Al Sowfy narrated to us, from Abu Al Abbas Abdullah Ibn Ja’far Al Humeri, from Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al Qarshy, from Ali Bin Ahmad Al Tameemy, from Muhammad Bin Marwaan, from Abdullah Bin Yahya,

(It has been narrated) from Muhammad Ibn Al-Husayn, son of Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws, from Al-Husayn Bin Aliasws, from hisasws fatherasws Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said to measws: ‘Youasws would be the first one to enter the Paradise’. So Iasws said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Iasws shall enter before yousaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘Yes. Youasws would be the flag bearer in the Hereafter just as youasws are the flag bearer in the world, and the flag bearer (always) precedes’.

ثم قال صلى هللا عليه وآله: يا علي كانى بك وقد دخلت الجنة وبيدك لوائى وهو لواء الحمد تحته آدم فمن دونه.

Then hesaww said: ‘O Aliasws! (Isaww am seeing) as if Iasws and with youasws, entering the Paradise, and in yourasws hand is mysaww flag, and it is the Flag of Praise (لواء الحمد), and under it is Adamas, and the ones (Prophetsas besides himas’.32

Muhammad Bin Ahmad Al Sinany narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah Al Kufy, from Muhammad Bin Abu Bishr, from Al Husayn Bin Al Haysam, from Suleyman Bin Dawood, from Ali Bin Guraab, from Sabit Bin Abu Safiya, from Sa’ad Bin Zareyf, from Al Asbagh Bin Nabata who said,

‘I said to Amir Al-Momineenasws, ‘What prevents youasws from dyeing (yourasws hair and beard) and Rasool-Allahsaww had dyed?’ Heasws said: ‘Iasws am awaiting the miserable wretch to dye myasws beard from myasws head, after the era which myasws beloved Rasool-Allahsaww has informed measws of’.33

حدثنا أبو علي احمد بن يحيى المكتب قال حدثنا احمد بن محمد الوراق قال حدثنا بشر بن سعيد بن قلبويه المعدل بالرافقه كثير التميمي اليماني قال سمعت محمد بن حرب الهاللي أمير المدينة يقول: سألت جعفر بن قال حدثنا عبد الجبار بن

محمد " ع " فقلت له يابن رسول هللا في نفسي مسألة أريد ان اسألك عنها فقال: ان شئت أخبرتك بمسألتك قبل أن تسألني وان شئت فسل،

Abu Ali Ahmad Bin Yahya Al Maktab narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al Waraq, from Bishr Bin Saeed Bin Qalbawayh, the revisionist at Rafaqa, from Abdul Jabbar Bin Kaseer Al Tameemi who said, ‘I heard Muhammad Bin Al Hilali, the Emir of Al Medina saying,

‘I asked Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! I have within myself, a certain question which I want to ask you about’. So heasws said; ‘If you like Iasws would inform you of your questions before you even ask measws , and if you so like, then ask’.

وبأي شئ تعرف ما في نفسي قبل سؤالي؟ فقال بالتوسم والتفرس أما سمعت قول هللا عزوجل قال: قلت له يابن رسول هللا)ان في ذلك آليات للمتوسمين( وقول رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله اتقوا فراسة المؤمن فإنه ينظر بنور هللا، قال: فقلت له

يابن رسول هللا فاخبرني بمسألتي

I said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! And by which thing do youasws recognise what is within myself before I even ask youasws ?’ Heasws said: ‘By expectation and insight. Have you not heard the Words of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic [15:75] Surely in this are signs for those who examine, and the words of Rasool-Allahsaww: ‘Fear the insight of a Believer for he looks by the Light of Allahazwj?’ I said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww, so inform me regarding my questions’.

لم يطق حمله علي " ع " عند حط االصنام من سطح الكعبة قال: أردت ان تسألني عن رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله لممع قوته وشدته وما ظهر منه في قلع باب القموص بخيبر والرمي به إلى ورائه اربعين ذراعا وكان ال يطيق حمله

كل اربعون رجال وقد كان رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يركب الناقة والفرس والحمار، وركب البراق ليلة المعراج و ذلك دون علي في القوة والشدة، قال: فقلت له عن هذا وهللا اردت ان اسألك يابن رسول هللا فاخبرني

Heasws said: ‘You intend to ask me about Rasool-Allahsaww as to why did hesaww carry Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws to bring down the idols from the surface of the Kabah, when

heasws had the strength and the intensity which heasws displayed when heasws ripped off the door of the fort of Khaybar and threw it behind him to a distance of forty cubits, and it was not being carried by forty men, and Rasool-Allahsaww had ridden upon the camel, and the horse, and the mule, and rode upon Al-Buraaq on the night of the Ascension (المعراج), and all that was lower than Aliasws in strength and intensity?’ I said, ‘By Allahazwj, this is what I intended to ask youasws, O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww, so inform me’.

فقال: ان عليا عليه السالم برسول هللا تشرف وبه ارتفع وبه وصل إلى ان اطفأ نار الشرك وابطل كل معبود من دون هللا عزوجل ولو عاله النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله لحط االصنام لكان عليه السالم بعلي مرتفعا وتشريفا وواصال إلى حط

صنام ولو كان ذلك كذلك لكان أفضل منه أال ترى ان عليا عليه السالم قال: لما علوت ظهر رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه اال وآله شرفت وارتفعت حتى لو شئت ان انال السماء لنلتها

So heasws said: ‘Aliasws had nobility with Rasool-Allahsaww, and by it heasws was raised to extinguish the fire of Polytheism, and invalidate every worshipped one besides Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic. And had the Prophetsaww been raised for the bringing down of the idols, it would have been by Aliasws that hesaww would have been raised, and been ennobled, and arrived to the bringing down of the idols. And that was like that, heasws would have been higher than himsaww. Have you not seen that Aliasws said: ‘When Iasws was raised upon the shoulders of Rasool-Allahsaww, Iasws was ennobled and raised to the extent that if Iasws had so desire to, Iasws would have touched the sky.

أما علمت ان المصباح هو الذي يهتدى به في الظلمة وانبعاث فرعه من أصله، وقد قال علي عليه السالم أنا من احمد كالضوء من الضوء،

But, do you know that the Lantern it which guides in the darkness, and its emission is a branch of the original source. And Aliasws said: ‘Iasws am from Ahmadsaww like the Illumination is from the illumination’.

ل قبل خلق الخلق بألفي عام وان المالئكة لما أما علمت ان محمدا وعليا صلوات هللا عليهما كانا نورا بين يدي هللا عزوجرأت ذلك النور رأت له اصال قد تشعب منه شعاع المع فقالت: إلهنا وسيدنا ماهذا النور؟ فأوحى هللا تبارك وتعالى إليهم

الهما هذا نور من نوري أصله نبوة وفرعه إمامة، أما النبوة فلمحمد عبدي ورسولي واما االمامة فلعلي حجتي ووليى ولو ما خلقت خلقي،

But, do you know that Muhammadsaww and Aliasws were two Lights in front of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic before the Creation of the creatures, by two thousand years, and that the Angels, when they saw that Light, saw it as original from which was radiating a blinding radiance, so they said: ‘Our Allahazwj, and our Masterazwj! What is this Light?’ So Allahazwj Blessed and High Revealed unto them: “This is a Light from Myazwj Light. Its root is Prophet-hood and its branch is Imamate. As for the Prophet-hood, so it is for Muhammadsaww, Myazwj servant, and Myazwj Rasoolsaww. And as for the Imamate, so it is for Aliasws, Myazwj Proof, and Myazwj Guardian. And had it not been for these twoasws, Iazwj would not have Created Myazwj creation”.

علمت ان رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله رفع يد علي " ع " بغدير خم حتى نظر الناس إلى بياض إبطيهما فجعله اما مولى المسلمين وإمامهم

But do you know that Rasool-Allahsaww raised the hand of Aliasws at Ghadeer Khumm, to the extent that the people looked at the whiteness of hisasws two arms. So heasws was made to be a Master of the Muslims and their Imamasws.

وقد احتمل الحسن والحسين عليهما السالم يوم حظيرة بني النجار فلما قال له بعض أصحابه ناولني احدهما يارسول هللا قال: نعم الراكبان وابوهما خير منهما،

And hesaww had carried Al-Hassanasws and Al-Husaynasws on the day of Hazeera of the Clan of Najjar. So when one of hissaww companions said, ‘Let me carry oneasws of themasws, O Rasool-Allahsaww’, hesaww said: ‘These twoasws are the best of the riders and the fatherasws of these twoasws is better than these twoasws’.

وانه صلى هللا عليه وآله كان يصلي باصحابه فاطال سجدة من سجداته فلما سلم قيل له يارسول هللا لقد اطلت هذه السجدة له رفعهم فقال صلى هللا عليه وآله ان ابني ارتحلني فكرهت ان اعاجله حتي ينزل، وإنما أراد بذلك صلى هللا عليه وآ

وتشريفهم فالنبي صلى هللا عليه وآله إمام ونبي وعلي " ع " إمام ليس بنبي وال رسول فهو غير مطيق لحمل اثقال النبوة.

And hesaww was Praying with hisas companions, so hesaww prolonged a Prostration from hissaww Prostrations. So when hesaww greeted (at the end of the Prayers), it was said to himas, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww have prolonged this Prostration’. So hesaww said: ‘Mysaww two sonasws were riding upon mesaww, so Isaww disliked that Iasws should hasten themasws, until theyasws descended (by themselves)’. But rather, what hesaww intended by that was to raise themasws, and theirasws nobility. So the Prophetsaww was an Imamasws and a Prophetsaww, and Aliasws was an Imamasws and neither a Prophetas nor a Rasoolas.

الهاللي: فقلت له زدنى يابن رسول هللا فقال إنك الهل للزيادةقال محمد بن حرب

Muhammad Bin Harb Al-Hilaly said, ‘So I said to himasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Increase it for me’. So heasws said: ‘You are indeed deserving of the increase’.

وآله حمل عليا عليه السالم على ظهره يريد بذلك أنه أبو ولده وإمام االئمة من صلبه كما ان رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه حول ردائه في صالة االستسقاء واراد ان يعلم أصحابه بذلك انه قد تحول الجدب خصبا،

Rasool-Allahsaww carried Aliasws upon hissaww shoulders, intending by that, that heasws was the fatherasws of hissaww (grand) sons, and an Imamasws from the Imamsasws from hisasws back, just as overturning of hissaww cloak during the Prayer of Al-Istiqsa’a (the rain), it is intended by that it be known by hissaww companions, that hesaww had overturned the famine’.

قال: قلت له زدنى يابن رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله

He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to himasws, ‘Increase it for me, O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww’.

الذي يخفف عن ظهر رسول هللا فقال: احتمل رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله عليا " ع " يريد بذلك ان يعلم قومه انه هو صلى هللا عليه وآله ما عليه من الدين والعدات واالداء عنه من بعده،

So heasws said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww carried Aliasws, intending by that to let hissaww people know that heasws would lighten from the shoulders of Rasool-Allahsaww, what is upon himsaww from the debts and the fulfilment of the promised made, from after himsaww’.

قال: فقلت له يابن رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله زدني

He (the narrator) said, ‘I said to him asws, ‘O son asws of Rasool-Allah saww, Increase it for me’.

فقال: احتمله ليعلم بذلك انه قد احتمله وما حمل إال النه معصوم ال يحمل وزرا فتكون افعاله عند الناس حكمة وصوابا وقد قال النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله لعلي يا علي ان هللا تبارك وتعالى حملني ذنوب شيعتك ثم غفرها لي وذلك قوله تعالى

)ليغفر لك ما تقدم من ذنبك وما تأخر(

So heasws said: ‘Hesaww carried himasws, to it would be known by that hesaww has carried himasws, and has not carried except that heasws was Infallible (sinless), and hesaww has not carried a burden, so that hisasws action would become one of wisdom, and correct. And the Prophetsaww had said to Aliasws: ‘O Aliasws! Allahazwj Blessed and High Loaded mesaww with the sins of yourasws Shiah, then Forgave them for mesaww, and these are the Words of the High [48:2] That Allah may Forgive you what has preceded from your sins and what is to follow.

ولما أنزل هللا عزوجل إذا اهتديتم وعلي نفسي وأخى اطيعوا عليا فإنه مطهر معصوم ال يضل وال يشقى ثم تال هذه اآلية: ال )قل أطيعو هللا واطيعوا الرسول فإن تولوا فإنما عليه ما حمل وعليكم ما حملتم وان تطيعوه تهتدوا وما على الرسول إ

البالغ المبين(.

And when Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Revealed [5:105] when you are on the right way, and Aliasws is mysaww own self, and mysaww brother. Obey Aliasws, for heasws is Purified, Infallible, does not stray nor has heasws a parallel’. Then hesaww recited this Verse [24:54] Say: Obey Allah and obey the Rasool; but if you turn back, then on him rests that which is imposed on him and on you rests that which is imposed on you; and if you obey him, you are on the right way; and nothing rests on the Rasool except for the clear delivery’.

Muhammad Bin Harb Al-Hilaly said, ‘Then Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws said: ‘O you Emir! If Iasws were to inform you with what (all) the intended meanings were with regards to the Prophetsaww carrying Aliasws during the bringing down of the idols from the roof of the Kaaba, you would say that Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws is insane. Therefore, let it suffice, what you have heard’.

فقمت إليه وقبلت رأسه وقلت هللا أعلم حيث يجعل رسالته.

So he stood up and kissed hisasws forehead and said, [6:124] Allah Knows best where He Places His Message’.34

Chapter 140 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The

one who give mesaww the good news of the going out of ‘Azaar’, for

him would be the Paradise’.

حدثنا محمد بن احمد السنانى واحمد بن الحسن القطان والحسين بن إبراهيم بن احمد بن هشام المؤدب وعلي بن عبد هللاالوراق وعلي بن احمد بن محمد الدقاق رضى هللا عنهم قالوا: حدثنا أبو العباس احمد بن يحيى بن زكريا القطان قال حدثنا بكر بن عبد هللا بن حبيب، عن تميم بن بهلول، عن ابيه، عن ابى الحسن العبدي، عن سليمان بن مهران، عن سعيد

عليه وآله ذات يوم في مسجد )قبا( وعنده نفر من أصحابه فقال اول من بن جبير عن ابن عباس قال: كان النبي، صلى هللافلما سمعوا ذلك قام نفر منهم فخرجوا وكل واحد منهم يحب ان يعود ليكون هو يدخل عليكم الساعة رجل من أهل الجنة

أول داخل فيستوجب الجنة

(It has been narrated) from Ibn Abbas who said, ‘One day the Prophetsaww was in Masjid Quba, and in hissaww presence were a number of hissaww companions, so hesaww said: ‘The first one to enter here (where) you all are this time would be a man from the inhabitants of the Paradise’. So when they heard that, a number of them got up and went out, and each one from them loved that he would return in order for himself to become the first one to enter, therefore obligating the Paradise for himself.

فعلم النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله ذلك منهم فقال لمن بقى عنده من أصحابه سيدخل عليكم جماعة يستبقون فمن بشرني بخروج آذار فله الجنة، فعاد القوم ودخلوا ومعهم أبو ذر رحمه هللا فقال لهم في أي شهر نحن من الشهور الرومية فقال

يارسول هللا، فقال صلى هللا عليه وآله قد علمت ذلك يا ابا ذر ولكن احببت ان يعلم قومي إنك رجل أبو ذر قد خرج آذار من اهل الجنة وكيف ال تكون كذلك وأنت المطرود من حرمى بعدي لمحبتك الهل بيتي فتعيش وحدك وتموت وحدك

المتقون. ويسعد بك قوم يتولون تجهيزك ودفنك أولئك رفقائي في الجنة الخلد التي وعد

So the Prophetsaww came to know that from them, so hesaww said to the remaining ones of hissaww companions: ‘There would be entering upon you, a group, in anticipation, so the one who give me the good news of the going out of Azaar, so for him would be the Paradise’.

So the people returned and entered, and with them was Abu Zarras. So hesaww said: ‘In which month are we, from the Roman months?’ So Abu Zarras said: ‘Azaar had gone, O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ So hesaww said: ‘Isaww knew that, O Abu Zarras, but Isaww loved it that mysaww people know that youas are a man from the inhabitants of the Paradise. And how can it not be like that and youas would be expelled from mysaww campuses after mesaww due to youras love for the People asws of mysaww Household. So youas would end up living alone, and die alone, and a people would be happy to befriend youas, and Shroud youas, and bury youas. They would be youras friends in the eternal Paradise which the pious have been Promised for’.35

Chapter 141 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahsaww said:

‘Neither has the green (sky) shaded, nor the dust (of the ground)

touched anyone with a tone more truthful than that of Abu Zarras’.

Abu Al Hassan Muhammad Bin Amro Bin Ali Al Basry, from Abdul Salaam Ibn Muhammad Bin Haroun Al Hashimy, Muhammad Bin Muhammad Uqba Al Shaybani, from Abu Al Qasim Al Khaza Bin Abaan, from Abu Hudba, from Anas Bin Maalik who said,

رو بن علي البصري قال: حدثنا عبد السالم ابن محمد بن هارون الهاشمي قال: حدثنا محمد حدثنا أبو الحسن محمد بن عمبن محمد عقبة الشيباني قال حدثنا أبو القاسم الخضر بن ابان، عن ابى هدبة، عن أنس بن مالك قال: اتى أبو ذر يوما إلى

‘One day Abu Zarras came over to Masjid of Rasool-Allahsaww, so heas said, Ias have not seen the like of what Ias saw yesterday’. They (people) said, ‘And what did youas see yesterday?’ Heas said: ‘Ias saw that Rasool-Allahsaww was at hissaww door. So hesaww went out during the night, having grabbed the hand of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, and theyasws both went out to Baqie (graveyard). So Ias did not cease to be in theiras footsteps until theyasws came to the graveyard of Makkah.

فعدل إلى قبر أبيه فصلى عنده ركعتين فإذا بالقبر قد انشق وإذا بعبدهللا جالس وهو يقول: أشهد أن ال إله إال هللا وان محمدا قال فارجع إلى عبده ورسوله فقال له من وليك يا أبة فقال: وما الولي بابني قال: هو هذا علي قال: وان عليا وليى

So hesaww turned towards the grave of hissaww fatheras and Prayed two Cycles of Prayer. So the grave burst open and there was Abdullahas seated, and heas was saying: ‘There is no god except for Allahazwj and Muhammadsaww is Hisazwj Rasoolsaww’. So hesaww said to himas: ‘Who is youras Guardian, O fatheras?’ So heas said: ‘And who is myas Guardian, O myas sonsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘Heas is this one, Aliasws’. Heas said: ‘And (Ias testify) that Aliasws is myas Guardian’. Hesaww said: ‘So return to youras Garden’.

ثم عدل إلى قبر أمه فصنع كما صنع عند قبر أبيه فإذا بالقبر قد انشق فاذاهى تقول: أشهد أن ال إله إال هللا وانك نبي هللا لها من وليك يا أماه، فقالت ومن الولي يا بنى؟ فقال هو هذا علي بن أبى طالب فقالت: وان عليا وليي فقال ورسوله فقال

أرجعي إلى حفرتك وروضتك.

Then hesaww turned towards the grave of hissaww motheras, and did what hesaww had done in the presence of the grave of hissaww fatheras. So the grave burst open, and there sheas was, saying: ‘Ias testify that there is no god except for Allahazwj, and yousaww are the Prophetsaww of Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww’. So hesaww said: ‘Who is youras Guardian, O mother?’ So sheas said: ‘And who is myas Guardian, O myas sonsaww?’ So sheas said: ‘He is this one, Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’. So sheazwj said: ‘And (Ias testify) that Aliasws is myas Guardian’. So hesaww said: ‘Return to youras grave and youras Garden’.

يارسول هللا كذب عليك اليوم فقال وما كان من ذلك. قال ان جندب حكى عنك كيت وكيت فقال النبي فكذبوه ولببوه وقالوا صلى هللا عليه وآله: ما أظلت الخضراء وال أقلت الغبراء علي ذي لهجة أصدق من أبى ذر.

So they (people) belied himas and ridiculed himas, and they said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Today yousaww have been belied against’. So hesaww said: ‘And it was not from that’. He said, ‘Jundabas (Abu Zarras), told such and such about yousaww’. So the Prophetsaww said: ‘Neither has the green (sky) shaded, nor the dust (of the ground) touched anyone with a tone more truthful than that of Abu Zarras’.

قال عبد السالم بن محمد: فعرضت هذا الخبر على الهجني محمد بن عبد االعلى فقال: أما علمت ان النبي صلى هللا عليه جر كفلك.وآله قال: اتانى جبرئيل فقال: ان هللا عزوجل حرم النار على ظهر أنزلك، وبطن حملك، وثدي أرضعك، وح

Abd Al-Salaam Bin Muhammad said, ‘So I presented this Hadeeth to Al-Hajny Muhammad Bin Abdul A’ala, so he said, ‘But do you not know that the Prophetsaww said: ‘Jibraeelas came unto mesaww, so heas said: ‘Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic has Forbidden the Fire unto the loin from which yousaww descended, and the lab which bore yousaww, and the breasts which fed yousaww, and the lap which (took over) yoursaww responsibility’.36

Ahmad Bin Al Hassan Al Qataan narrated to us, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Al Husayn Al Sakary, from Muhammad Bin Zakariyya Al Jowfary Al Ghalaby Al Basry, from usman Ibn Umran, from Abaad Bin Saheyb who said,

زكريا الجوهري حدثنا احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن الحسين السكري قال: حدثنا محمد بن الغالبى البصري قال: حدثنا عثمان ابن عمران قال: حدثنا عباد بن صهيب قال: قلت للصادق جعفر بن محمد " ع " اخبرني عن أبى ذر أهو أفضل أم أنتم أهل البيت؟ فقال: يابن صهيب كم شهور السنة فقلت اثنى عشر شهرا فقال: وكم

رمضان منها؟ قلت ال، قال فشهر رمضان أفضل أم اشهر الحرم؟ فقلت بل شهر الحرم منها؟ قلت أربعة أشهر، قال فشهر رمضان

‘I said to Al-Sadiq Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, ‘Inform me about Abu Zarras, is heas higher, or youasws the Peopleasws of the Household?’ So heasws said: ‘O ibn Saheyb! How many months are there in a year?’ So I said, ‘Twelve months’. So heasws said: ‘And how many from these are sacred?’ I said, ‘Four months’. Heasws said: ‘So is the Month of Ramazan from these?’ I said, ‘No’. Heasws said: ‘So is the Month of Ramazan higher or the sacred months?’ So I said, ‘But, (it is) the Month of Ramazan’.

قال فكذلك نحن أهل البيت ال يقاس بنا احد وان أبا ذر كان في قوم من اصحاب رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله فتذاكروا أبى طالب وهو قسيم الجنة والنار وهو صديق هذه االمة وفاروقها فضايل هذه االمة فقال أبو ذر أفضل هذه االمة علي بن

Heasws said: ‘So weasws, the Peopleasws of the Household are like that, and let no one analogise with usasws. And Abu Zarras was among a people from the companions of Rasool-Allahsaww, and they were mentioning the merits of this community, so Abu Zarras said: ‘The highest of this community is Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, and heasws is the Distributor of the Paradise and the Fire, and heasws is the Truthful of this community, and its Differentiator, and Proof of Allahazwj over it.

فما بقي من القوم احد إال اعرض عنه بوجهه وانكر عليه قوله وكذبه فذهب أبو امامة الباهلي من بينهم إلى رسول هللا يبهم له، فقال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله: ما أظلت صلى هللا عليه وآله فاخبره بقول أبى ذر واعراضهم عنه وتكذ

يعنى منكم يا أبا أمامة من ذي لهجة أصدق من أبى ذر. -الخضراء وال أقلت الغبراء

So there did not remain anyone from the people except that he turned his face away from him, and denied hisas speech against himas, and belied himas. So Abu Amama Al-Bahily went out from among them, to Rasool-Allahsaww and informed himsaww of the speech of Abu Zarras and the turning away of the people from himas and their belying himas. So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Neither has the green (sky) shaded, nor the dust (ground) touched’ – meaning from you all, O Abu Amama’ – ‘than one who is more truthful of tone than Abu Zarras’.37

Chapter 142 – The reason due to which Fatimaasws was named as

‘Fatima’

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا علي بن ابراهيم، عن محمد بن عيسى قال: حدثنا محمد بن زياد مولى بني هاشم قال: حدثنا شيخ سميت فاطمة لنا ثقة يقال له نجية بن اسحاق الفزاري قال: حدثنا عبد هللا بن الحسن بن الحسن قال: قال لى أبو الحسن لم

فاطمة، قلت: فرقا بينه وبين االسماء قال ان ذلك لمن االسماء ولكن االسم الذي سميت به ان هللا تبارك وتعالى علم ماكان قبل كونه فعلم ان رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يتزوج في االحياء وانهم يطمعون في وراثة هذا االمر فيهم من قبله فلما

تبارك وتعالى فاطمة لما اخرج منها وجعل في ولدها فقطعهم عما طمعوا، فبهذا سميت فاطمة، ولدت فاطمة سماها هللا النها فطمت طمعهم. ومعنى فطمت: قطعت.

My father said, ‘Ali Bin Ibrahim narrated to us, from Muhamamd Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Ziyad, a slave of the Clan of Hashim

as, from a reliable elder of ours called Najeet Bin Is’haq Al Fazary, from

Abdullah Bin Al Hassan Bin Al Hassan who said,

‘Abu Al-Hassanasws said to me: ‘Why was Fatimaasws named as ‘Fatima’?’ I said, ‘Is there a difference between it and the (other) names?’ Heasws said: ‘That is a name from the names, but the name which sheasws was named with, that Allahazwj Blessed and High Knew what was to be before it transpires, so Heazwj knew that Rasool-Allahsaww would be getting married during the lifetime, and that they (people) would be coveting with regards to hissaww inheritance of this command from beforehand. So when Fatimasws was Gifted (to Rasool Allahsaww), Allahazwj Blessed and High Named her as ‘Fatima’ (Enforced discontinuance), due to what (Inheritance) was to come out from herasws and Made it to be in herasws sonsasws, thus cutting off their coveting from them. So, it is due to this, sheasws was named as ‘Fatima’, because sheasws cut-off (discontinued) their greed. And the meaning of ‘Fatima’ – ‘Cutting-off’’.38

Muhammad Bin Musa Bin Al Mutawakkal narrated to us, from Ali Bin Al Husayn Al Sa’ad Abady, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah Al Barqy, from Abdul Azeem Bin Abdullah Al has any, from Al Hassan Bin Abdullah Bin Yunus Bin Zibyan who said,

‘Abu Abdullahasws said: ‘For Fatimaasws there are nine names in the Presence of Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic – Fatima, and Al-Siddiqua, and Al-Mubaraka, and Al-Tahira, and Al-Zakiyya, and Al-Raziyya, and Al-Marziyya, and Al-Muhaddisa, and Al-Zahra’.

ثم قال: أتدري أي شئ تفسير فاطمة عليها السالم؟ قلت إخبرنى يا سيدي قال: فطمت من الشر

Then heasws said: ‘Do you know which thing is the interpretation of (name of) Fatimaasws?’ I said, ‘Inform me, O my Master?’ Heasws said: ‘Sheasws is cut-off from the evil’.

قال: ثم قال، لو ال ان أمير المؤمنين " ع " تزوجها ماكان لها كفوا إلى يوم القيامة على وجه االرض، آدم فمن دونه.

He (the narrator) said, ‘Then heasws said: ‘Had she (Fatimaasws) been not married to Amir Al-Momineenasws, there would not have been a match for herasws up to the Day of Judgement upon the face of the earth, (including) Adamas and the ones besides himas’.39

والق حدثنا محمد بن الحسن رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا احمد بن علوية االصبهاني عن ابراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، عن جندل بن قال: حدثنا محمد بن عمر البصري عن جعفر بن محمد بن علي، عن أبيه عليهما السالم قال: قال رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله يا فاطمة أتدرين لم سميت فاطمة؟ فقال علي " ع " يا رسول هللا لم سميت؟ قال: النها فطمت هي وشيعتها من

النار.

Muhammad Bin Al Hassan narrated to us, from Ahmad Bin Alawiya Al Asbahany, from Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al Saqafy, from Jandal Bin Walaq, from Muhammad Bin Umar Al Basry,

(It has been narrated) from Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws Bin Aliasws, from hisasws fatherasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘O Fatimaasws! Do youasws know why youasws have been named as ‘Fatima’?’ So Aliasws said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww, why was sheasws named as such?’ Hesaww said: ‘Because sheasws and herasws Shiah are cut-off from the Fire’.40

كرجل مؤمن أو كافر فيؤمر بمحب قد كثرت ذنوبه إلى النار فتقرأ على باب جهنم، فإذا كان يوم القيامة كتب بين عينيفاطمة بين عينيه محبا فيقول: إلهى وسيدي سميتني فاطمة وفطمت بى من توالني وتولى ذريتي من النار ووعدك الحق

وأنت ال تخلف الميعاد،

Muhammad Bin Musa Bin Al Mutawakkal narrated to us, from Sa’ad Bin Abdullah, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Abdullah Bin Muskan, from Muhammad Bin Muslim Al Saqafy who said,

‘I heard Abu Ja’farasws saying for Fatimaasws that she would be pausing at the Gateway of Hell. So when it will be the Day of Judgement, there would be written in between the two eyes whether the man is a Believer or an Infidel. So they would pass with a loving one to the Fire due to the abundance of his sins. So Fatimaasws would read ‘Loving one’, in between his eyes, so sheasws would be saying: ‘Myasws Godazwj, and myasws Master! Youazwj Named measws as ‘Fatima’, and would be Cutting

off by measws, the one who would be with myasws Wilayah and the Wilayah of myasws children, (Cutting-off) from the Fire, and Yourazwj Promise is the Truth, and Youazwj do not Default on Yourazwj Promise’.

فيقول هللا عزوجل، صدقت يا فاطمة إنى سميتك فاطمة وفطمت بك من أحبك وتوالك وأحب ذريتك وتوالهم من النار ليتبين لمالئكتي وانبيائي ووعدي الحق وأنا ال اخلف الميعاد، وإنما أمرت بعبدي هذا إلى النار لتشفعي فيه فاشفعك و

ورسلي وأهل الموقف موقفك مني ومكانتك عندي

So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would be Saying: “Youasws have spoken the Truth, O Fatimaasws! Iazwj Named youasws as ‘Fatima’, and Iazwj will Cut-off from the Fire, by youasws, the one who loves youasws and be with yourasws Wilayah, and loves yourasws offspring and is with theirasws Wilayah, and Myazwj Promise is the Truth, and Iazwj do not Default from Myazwj Promise. But rather, Iazwj Commanded for this servant of Mine to the Fire so that youasws would intercede to Meazwj with regards to him and Iazwj will Intercede for yourasws sake, so that it would be manifested to Myazwj Angels, and Myazwj Prophetsas, and Myazwj Rasoolsas, and the people of the status, of yourasws status from Meazwj, and yourasws position in Myazwj Presence”.

فمن قرأت بين عينيه مؤمنا فخذي بيده وادخليه الجنة.

Thus, for the one whom sheasws reads in between his eyes ‘Believer’, so he would be taken by the hand and made to enter into the Paradise’.41

Chapter 143 – The reason due to which Fatima Al-Zahraasws was

named as ‘Al Zahra’

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا محمد بن معقل القرمسينى، عن محمد بن زيد الجزرى، عن ابراهيم بن اسحاق النهاوندي، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر، عن أبى عبد هللا " ع " قال: قلت له لم سميت فاطمة الزهراء زهراء؟ عبد هللا بن حماد، عن

فقال الن هللا عزوجل خلقها من نور عظمته فلما أشرقت أضاءت السموات واالرض بنورها وغشيت أبصار المالئكة هذا نور من نوري اسكنته في سمائي خلقته وخرت المالئكة ساجدين وقالوا: إلهنا وسيدنا ما لهذا النور فأوحى هللا إليهم

من عظمتي أخرجه من صلب نبي من أنبيائي أفضله على جميع االنبياء وأخرج من ذلك النور أئمة يقومون بامري يهدون إلى حقي واجعلهم خلفائي في أرضى بعد انقضاء وحيى.

My father said, ‘Muhammad Bin Ma’aqal Al Qarmasayni narrated to us, from Muhammad Bin Zayd Al Jazry, from Ibrahim Bin Is’haq Al Nahawandy, from Abdullah Bin Hamaad, from Amro Bin Shimr, from Jabir,

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws, said, ‘I said to himasws, ‘Why was Fatima Al-Zahraasws named as ‘Fatima’?’ So heasws said: ‘Because Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Created herasws from a Light of Hisazwj Magnificence. So when sheasws shone, the skies and the earth were illuminated by herasws Light, and the visions of the Angels were overwhelmed, and the Angels fell down Prostrating, and they said: ‘Our Godazwj and our Master! What is this Light due to?’

So Allahazwj Revealed unto them: “This is a Light from Myazwj Light. Iazwj Settled it in Myazwj sky. Iazwj Created it from Myazwj Magnificence, and will be Extracting from it

from the sulb of a Prophetsaww from Myazwj Prophets (whosaww would be) higher than the entirety of the Prophetsas, and would be Extracting from that Light, the Imamsasws who would be standing with Myazwj Commands, Guiding to Myazwj Truth, and Iazwj would Make themasws to be Myazwj Caliphs, in Myazwj earth, after the expiration of Myazwj Revelation”.42

My father said, ‘Sa’ad Bin Abdullah narrated to us, from Ja’far Bin Sahl Al Sayqal, from Muhammad Bin Ismail Al Darami, from the one who narrated it, from Muhammad Bin Ja’far Al Harmany, from Aban Bin Taghlub who said,

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد هللا قال: حدثني جعفر بن سهل الصيقل، عن محمد بن اسماعيل الدارمي عمن حدثه، عن محمد بن جعفر الهرمرانى عن أبان بن تغلب قال: قلت البي عبد هللا " ع " يابن رسول هللا لم سميت الزهراء

مؤمنين " ع " في النهار ثالث مرات بالنور، كان يزهر، نور وجهها عليها السالم زهراء؟ فقال: النها تزهر المير الصالة الغداة والناس في فرشهم فيدخل بياض ذلك النور إلى حجراتهم بالمدينة فتبيض حيطانهم فيعجبون من ذلك فيأتون

لها فيرونها قاعدة في النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله فيسألونه عما رأوا فيرسلهم إلى منزل فاطمة عليها السالم فيأتون منز محرابها تصلي والنور يسطع من محرابها من وجهها فيعلمون ان الذي رأوه كان من نور فاطمة،

‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Why was Al-Zahraasws named as ‘Al-Zahra’?’ So heasws said: ‘Because sheasws glowed with the Light, for Amir Al Momineenasws, three times during the day. Herasws face glowed at the time of the Dawn Prayer, and the people would in their beds, so that whiteness of that Light would enter into their chambers at Al-Medina, and enlighten their walls. So they would be astounded from that, and they would come to the Prophetsaww to ask himsaww about what they had observed, and heasws would send them to the House of Fatimaasws. So they would come to herasws house, and they would see herasws seated in herasws Prayer Niche, Praying, and the Light shining from herasws Prayer Niche, from herasws face. So they would come to know that, that which they saw was from the Light of Fatimaasws.

الصفرة حجرات الناس فتصفر ثيابهم وألوانهم فإذا نصف النهار وترتبت للصالة زهر وجهها " ع " بالصفرة فتدخلفيأتون النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله فيسألونه، عما رأوا فيرسلهم إلى منزل فاطمة عليها السالم فيرونها قايمة في محرابها

وقد زهر نور وجهها عليها السالم بالصفرة فيعلمون ان الذي رأوا كان من نور وجهها

So when it would be the middle of the day, and sheasws would make arrangements for the Prayer, herasws face would glow with the yellow (Light). So the yellowness would enter into the chambers of the people, so their clothes and their colours would turn yellow. So they would come to the Prophetsaww to ask himsaww about what they had observed. So hesaww would send them to the house of Fatimaasws. So they would see herasws standing in herasws Prayer Niche, and Light glowing from herasws face, with the yellowness. So they would know that, that which they saw was from the Light of herasws face’.

فإذا كان آخر النهار وغربت الشمس احمر وجه فاطمة عليها السالم فاشرق وجهها بالحمرة فرحا وشكرا هلل عزوجل فكان ويسألونه عن ذلك يدخل حمرة وجهها حجرات القوم وتحمر حيطانهم فيعجبون من ذلك ويأتون النبي صلى هللا عليه وآله

فيرسلهما الى منزل فاطمة فيرونها جالسة تسبح هللا وتمجده ونور وجهها يزهر بالحمرة فيعلمون ان الذي رأوا كان من نور وجه فاطمة عليها السالم

So when it would be the end of the day, and the sun would set, the face of Fatimaasws would turn red. So herasws face would shine with the redness in happiness and

gratitude for Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic. So the redness from herasws face would enter into the chamber of the people and turn their walls red. So they would be astounded from that, and they would come to the Prophetsaww and ask himsaww about that. So hesaww would send them to the House of Fatimaasws, and they would see herasws to be seated, Glorifying Allahazwj, and Extolling Himazwj, and the Light from herasws face glowing with the redness. So they would know that, that which they saw, was from the Light of the face of Fatimaasws.

فلم يزل ذلك النور في وجهها حتى ولد الحسين " ع " فهو يتقلب في وجوهنا إلى يوم القيامة في االئمة منا أهل البيت إمام بعد إمام.

Thus, that Light did not cease to be in herasws face until sheasws was Blessed with Al-Husaynasws. So, it has been transferred into ourasws faces until the Day of Judgement, in the Imamsasws from usasws, the Peopleasws of the Household’.43

عنه قال: حدثنا عبد العزيز ابن يحيى الجلودي قال: حدثنا محمد بن زكريا حدثنا محمد بن ابراهيم بن اسحاق رضى هللاالجوهري، عن جعفر بن محمد بن عمارة عن أبيه قال: سألت أبا عبد هللا " ع " عن فاطمة لم سميت الزهراء؟ فقال النها

كانت إذا قامت في محرابها زهر نورها الهل السماء كما تزهر نور الكواكب الهل االرض.

Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Is’haq narrated to us, from Abdul Aziz Ibn Yahya Al Jaloudy, from Muhammad Bin Zakariyya Al Jowhary, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad Bin Amara, from his father who said,

‘I asked Abu Abdullahasws about Syeda Fatimaasws, ‘Why was sheasws named as ‘Al-Zahra’?’ So heasws said: ‘Because whenever sheasws stood in herasws Prayer Niche, herasws Light glowed upon the inhabitants of the sky, just as the stars flow upon the inhabitants of the earth’.44

Chapter 144 – Reason due to which Fatimaasws was named as ‘Al

Batoul’, and similar to that is Maryamas

حدثنا احمد بن محمد بن عيسى بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبى طالب قال: حدثنا أبو عبد هللا محمد بن ابراهيم بن اسباط قال: حدثنا احمد بن محمد بن زياد القطان قال: حدثني أبو الطيب احمد بن محمد بن عبد هللا قال: حدثني عيسى بن جعفر بن محمد بن عبد هللا بن محمد بن عمر بن علي بن أبى طالب " ع " عن آبائه عن عمر بن

صلى هللا عليه وآله سئل ما البتول فانا سمعناك يارسول هللا تقول ان مريم علي بن أبيه علي بن أبى طالب " ع " ان النبي بتول وفاطمة بتول؟ فقال صلى هللا عليه وآله: البتول التي لم تر حمرة قط أي لم تحض فان الحيض مكروه في بنات

االنبياء.

(It has been narrated) from his father Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws having said: ‘The Prophetsaww was asked, ‘What is ‘Al-Batoul’, for we have heard yousaww O Rasool-Allahsaww, saying that Maryamas is ‘Batoul’, and Fatimaasws is ‘Batoul’?’ So hesaww said: ‘Al Batoul is that (woman) who does not see redness at all, i.e., she does go through as women do, which is abhorrent in the daughters of the Prophetsas’.45

Chapter 145 – The reason due to which Fatimaasws used to

supplicate for others, and did not supplicate for herselfasws

محمد بن عبد هللا الحضرمي قال: حدثنا جندل حدثنا علي بن محمد بن الحسن القزويني المعروف بابن مقبرة قال: حدثنابن والق قال: حدثنا محمد بن عمر المازنى عن عبادة الكليي عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه عن علي بن الحسين عن فاطمة الصغرى، عن الحسين بن علي، عن إخيه الحسن بن علي بن أبى طالب عليهم السالم قال: رأيت أمي فاطمة عليها السالم

في محرابها ليلة جمعتها فلم تزل راكعة ساجدة حتى اتضح عمود الصبح وسمعتها تدعو للمؤمنين والمؤمنات قامتوتسميهم وتكثر الدعاء لهم وال تدعو لنفسها بشئ، فقلت لها يا أماه لم ال تدعون لنفسك كما تدعون لغيرك؟ فقالت يا بني:

الجار ثم الدار.

Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Al Qazwiny, well known as Ibn Maqbara, from Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al Hazramy, from Jandal Bin Walaq, from Muhammad Bin Umar Al Mazany, from Abadat Al Kalay,

(It has been narrated) from Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws, from Fatima Al-Sughraasws, from Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, from hisasws brotherasws Al-Hassanasws Bin Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws having said: ‘Ias saw myasws motherasws standing in herasws Prayer Niche on the night of Friday. So sheasws did not cease Bowing and Prostrating until the light of the morning. And Iasws heard herasws supplicating for the believing men and the believing women, and frequently naming them and supplicating for them, and did not supplicate for herasws own self with anything. So Iasws said to herasws: ‘Why are youasws not supplicating for yourselfasws just like youasws supplicating for the others?’ So sheasws said: ‘O myasws sonasws! The neighbour (first) then the house’.46

ال: كانت فاطمة عليها السالم إذا دعت تدعو للمؤمنين والمؤمنات وال تدعو لنفسها فقيل عن أبيه عن آبائه عليهم السالم ق لها يا بنت رسول هللا صلى هللا عليه وآله انك تدعون للناس وال تدعون لنسفك؟ فقالت الجار ثم الدار.

(It has been narrated) Musaasws Ibn Ja’farasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws forefathersasws having said: ‘Whenever Syed Fatimaasws used to supplicate, sheasws would supplicate for the believing men and the believing women, and would not supplicate for herselfasws. So it was said to herasws, ‘O daughterasws of Rasool-

Allahsaww! Youasws are supplicating for the people and are not supplicating for yourselfasws?’ So Syedaasws said: ‘The neighbour (first), then the house’.47

Chapter 146 – The reason due to which Syeda Fatimaasws was

named a ‘Muhaddisa’.

حدثنا احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا الحسن بن علي السكرى، عن محمد بن زكريا الجوهري قال: حدثنا شعيب بن واقد قال: حدثني اسحاق بن جعفر بن محمد بن عيسى بن زيد بن علي قال: سمعت أبا عبد هللا " ع " يقول إنما سميت

ن السماء فتناديها كما تنادي مريم بنت عمران فتقول: يا فاطمة هللا فاطمة عليها السالم محدثه الن المالئكة كانت تهبط م اصطفاك وطهرك واصطفاك على نساء العالمين يا فاطمة إقنتي لربك واسجدي واركعي مع الراكعين،

Ahmad Bin Al Hassan Al Qatan narrated to us, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Sakry, from Muhammad Bin Zakariyya Al Jowhary, from Shuayb Bin Waqad, from Is’haq Bin Ja’far Bin Muhammad Bin Isa Bin

Zayd son of Aliasws who said,

‘I heard Abu Abdullahasws saying: ‘But rather, Syeda Fatimaasws was named as Muhaddisa because the Angels used to descend from the sky, so they would call out to herasws just as they used to call out to Maryamas daughter of Imranas, so they were saying: ‘O Fatimaasws! [3:42] Allah has Chosen you and Purified you and Chosen you above the women of the worlds. O Fatimaasws! [3:43] Be obedient to your Lord and humble yourself, and bow down with those who bow.

عمران؟ فقالوا: ان مريم كانت سيدة فتحدثهم ويحدثونها فقالت لهم ذات ليلة: أليست المفضلة على نساء العالمين مريم بنت نساء عالمها، وان هللا عز وجل جعلك سيدة نساء عالمك وعالمها وسيدة نساء االولين واآلخرين.

So sheasws would discuss with them, and they would discuss with herasws. One night, sheasws said to them: ‘Am Iasws not more meritorious over the (Chieftess) of the women of the worlds, Maryamas daughter of Imranas?’ So they said: ‘Maryamas was Chieftess of the women of herasws world (era), and Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic has Made youasws the Chieftess of the women of heras era, and Chieftess of the women of the former ones and the later ones’.48

Chapter 147 – The reason due to which Rasool-Allahsaww frequently

used to kiss Syeda Fatimaasws

حدثنا احمد بن الحسن القطان قال: حدثنا الحسن بن علي السكري قال: أخبرنا محمد بن زكريا قال: حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن عمارة الكندي قال: حدثنى أبى، عن جابر عن أبى جعفر محمد بن علي " ع " عن جابر بن عبد هللا قال: قيل يارسول

تدنيها منك وتفعل بها ماال تفعله باحد من بناتك؟ فقال: ان جبرئيل " ع " اتانى بتفاحة من هللا انك تلثم فاطمة وتلتزمها و تفاح الجنة فاكلتها فتحولت ماء في صلبي، ثم واقعت خديجة فحملت بفاطمة فانا اشم منها رائحة الجنة.

(It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far Muhammadasws Bin Aliasws, from Jabir Bin Abdullah having said: ‘It was said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww tend to kiss Fatimaasws, and revere herasws, and be close to herasws, and deal with herasws with what yousaww do not deal with any of yoursaww (other step daughters)?’ So hesaww said: ‘Jibraeelas came unto mesaww with an apple from the apples of the Paradise. So Isaww ate it, and it converted to the water in mysaww back. Then Isaww went to Khadeejaas, so sheas was Blessed with Syeda Fatimaasws. So Isaww keep smelling the aroma of the Paradise from herasws’.49

بن عمران قال: حدثنا عبيدهللا بن موسى العبسي قال: اخبرني جبلة وبهذا االسناد عن محمد بن زكريا قال: حدثنا عمرعن ابن عباس قال: دخلت عايشة على رسول هللا وهو يقبل فاطمة فقالت له: أتحبها يارسول المكي، عن طاووس اليماني

هللا؟ قال أما وهللا لو علمت حبي لها الزددت لها حبا،

And by this chain, from Muhammad Bin Zakariyya, narrated by Umar Bin Umran, from Ubeydullah Bin Musa Al Absy, from Jabalat Al Makky, from Tawoos Al Yamani, from Ibn Abbas who said,

‘Ayesha came over to Rasool-Allahsaww and hesaww was kissing (his daughter Syeda) Fatimaasws. So she said to himsaww: ‘Yousaww seem to love herasws a lot, O Rasool-Allahsaww?’ Hesaww said: ‘By Allahazwj! If you knew mysaww love for herasws, it would increase your love for herasws.

فقلت: أتقدم وانت بحضرتي يا انه لما عرج بى إلى السماء الرابعة اذن جبرئيل وأقام ميكائيل ثم قيل لي اذن يا محمد، جبرئيل؟ قال نعم ان هللا عز وجل فضل أنبيائه المرسلين على مالئكته المقربين وفضلك أنت خاصة، فدنوت فصليت باهل

ثم إلتفت عن يميني فإذا أنا بابراهيم " ع " في روضة من رياض الجنة وقد اكتنفها جماعة من المالئكة السماء الرابعة

When Isaww ascended to the fourth sky, Jibraeelas called the call for Prayer (Azan) and Mikaeelas for establishing of it (Iqama), then said to mesaww: ‘O Muhammadsaww, proceed (to lead the Prayer)’. So Isaww said: ‘Isaww proceed, and youas are in mysaww presence, O Jibraeelas?’ Heas said: ‘Yes! Allahazwj Preferred Hisazwj Prophetsas, the Rasoolsas over the Angels of Proximity, and Preferred yousaww in particular’. So Isaww approached, and Prayed with the inhabitants of the fourth sky. Then Isaww turned to mysaww right, and there Isaww was with Ibrahimas in a Garden from the Gardens of the Paradise, and a group of the Angels had surrounded himas.

ثم أنى صرت إلى السماء الخامسة ومنها إلى السادسة فنوديت يا محمد نعم االب أبوك إبراهيم ونعم االخ أخوك علي

Then Isaww went to the fifth sky, and from it to the sixth. So, there was a Call: ‘O Muhammadsaww! The best of the fathers is yoursaww father Ibrahimas, and the best of the brothers is yoursaww brother Aliasws’.

فإذا أنا بشجرة من نور أصلها ملكان يطويان الحلل فلما صرت إلى الحجب أخذ جبرئيل " ع " بيدي فادخلني الجنة والحلى، فقلت حبيبي جبرئيل لمن هذه الشجرة؟ فقال هذه الخيك علي بن أبى طالب وهذان الملكان يطويان له الحلى

والحلل إلى يوم القيامة،

So when Isaww went to the Veils, Jibraeelas grabbed mysaww hand and entered mesaww into the Paradise. So there Isaww was, by a tree whose roots were of Light, two Angels folding garments and ornaments. So Isaww said: ‘Mysaww beloved Jibraeelas! For whom is this tree?’ So heas said: ‘This is for yoursaww brotherasws Aliasws Bin Abu

Talibasws, and these are two Angels folding for himasws, the garments and the ornaments up to the Day of Judgement’.

ثم تقدمت أمامى فإذا أنا برطب ألين من الزبد وأطيب رائحة من المسك واحلى من العسل فاخذت رطبة فاكلتها فتحولت الرض واقعت خديجة بفاطمة ففاطمة حوراء انسية فإذا اشتقت إلى الجنة الرطبة نطفة في صلبى فلما ان هبطت إلى ا

شممت رائحة فاطمة )عليها السالم(.

Then Isaww proceeded in front of mesaww, so there Isaww was by dates softer than the butter, and more aromatic in fragrance than musk, and sweeter than the honey. So Isaww took a date and ate it. So the date transformed into a Gift within mesaww. So when Isaww descended to the earth, Khadeejaas was Blessed with Fatimaasws. Thus, Fatimaasws is a human Hourie. So when Isaww desire for the Paradise, Isaww smell the fragrance of Fatimaasws’.50

washed Syeda Fatimaasws when sheasws was Martyred

أبى رحمه هللا قال: حدثنى احمد بن ادريس قال: حدثنا احمد بن محمد ابن عيسى، عن احمد بن محمد بن أبى نصر، عن عبد الرحمان بن سالم، عن المفضل ابن عمر قال: قلت البي عبد هللا " ع " جعلت فداك من غسل فاطمة عليها السالم قال

ك من قوله فقال كأنك ضقت مما اخبرتك به قلت قد كان ذلك جعلت ذاك أمير المؤمنين " ع " قال فكأني استعظمت ذل فداك قال: ال تضيقن فانها صديقة ال يغسلها إال صديق أما علمت ان مريم لم يغسلها إال عيسى عليه السالم.

My father said, ‘Ahmad Bin Idrees narrated to me, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Ibn Isa, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Abdul Rahman Bin Salim, from Al Mufazzal Ibn Umar who said,

‘I said to Abu Abdullahasws, ‘May I be sacrificed for youasws! Who washed Fatimaasws’. Heasws said: ‘That was Amir Al-Momineenasws’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I was aggrieved by that, from hisasws words’. So heasws said: ‘It is as if you are constricted from what Iasws have informed you with’. I said, ‘It was like that, may I be sacrificed for youasws’. Heasws said: ‘Do not be constricted, for sheasws was a Truthful, none could wash herasws except for a Truthful. But, do you know that Maryamas, none washed herasws except for Isaas?’51
