While many British people consider themselves tolerant with regard to immigrants, the results of the YouGov Poll show that this view is not true for most Britons. It says that slightly three quarters of the population have the opinion that the rate of immigration is too high. Surprisingly, this also applys to sections of society which are considered as open-minded. But above all, it is that Britain is the most hostile country in Europe when it comes to foreigners which lets the view of the Britons of themselves suffer harm.

It refers to recent polls revealing that xenophobia in Britain is quite high. Due to the close relation between hostility and anxiety it is a criticism on the fact that many people in Britain are afraid of foreigners. That is expressed in a very satirical way as the principal's consideration of a girl belonging to another ethnic group as a possible threat to the civilization is extremely exaggerated. From a larger perspective it's not only a criticism on British society, but also on the whole world's one which for the most part is scared of things or people and for example there cultures that are not familiar to them.
