VOX magazine is an inspirational magazine. It´s a place for you to block

the world out and being a part of something new. My assignment is

to get into your mind and I want to make you do something you have

always dreamed of. Is everything looking a bit dark? Then these pages

of paper is here to make you 100% happy and then we will obtain this

happiness.

In this issue of VOX, inspiration is the main theme. There´s a feature of

the norwegian blogger and humourist Halvor Harsem and on p. 13 you

can read about how he gets his weird and original ideas. You will also

find editorials and a portrait of multitasked Nero Storm. I hope you´re

comfortable and that you enjoy every part of this magazine. Feel free to

have a cup of tea or a peace of chocolate while you´re reading.

Most people know him as the king of Briskeby and with his cat Rambo, who´s got 6500 fol-lowers on twitter, he has found the secret key to succes over in-ternet. Online, it lookes like he is spending all his time on sitting at home, drinking yellow Farris (sparkling water). In real life he dreams about succes.

When I meet Halvor at his place, there is a small and messy

apartment that is waiting for me. Halvor and some of his

friends have recorded a pilot for VGTV (Norwegian news sight) and

they used their homes as studios. As I start taking pictures, he takes

out a bottle of yellow farris (sparkling water). He´s been out buying

10 litters of the drink earlier today and he makes a joke about his cat

drinking farris. “I should have gotten a sponsorship with yellow farris

by now,” Halvor says. He´s been trying to do that for a long time now,

but I am really bad at selling myself.

Halvor is known for coming up with ideas that no one else could

ever dream of. The video “Posemannen” (“Plasticbagman”) is his most

seen video blog and has got 123 037 views on youtube. When I ask

him about how he gets all the ideas from, he says that it often starts

out with hanging out in the coutch, filming that he is bored and then

he comes up with something that will make a good ending. “Poseman-

nen” was a result of all the plasticbags Halvor had laying on the floor

in his apartment. “It may seem that all I do is verry thought through,

but it´s not, I just do stuff like this,” Halvor says with a hint of laugh

in his voice.

It may seem like Halvor is a guy sitting at home, not having much to

do, but his dream is actually to succeed. Making the most out of life

and having something to look back on is important, but also having

stuff he has created through the years. Working with film is what

Halvor really wants to do. He wants to make a lot of money on what

he loves to do. Also he wants to do it in a way that shows Halvor´s

personality. Talented and ambitious people inspire him. He also looks

very much up to his dad.

Online, Halvor might seem like a loner and he tells me that this is a

way he chooses to present himself. It get´s funnier that way, but he

also says that the blog is a place where he get´s to talk about how he

feels. It might seem like the blog is just jokes and silliness, but there is

a lot more between the lines. “When good friends read the blog, then

sometimes call me to see if I´m okay,” Halvor says.

“It may seem that all I do is verry thought through, but it´s not, I just do stuff like this”

- Halvor Harsem, blogger

When I bring up a question about settling down and getting a family,

he tells me that there´s an instinct inside him that tells him this is the

right thing to do, but it´s not something he want´s to do right away.

First he wants to establish in the housing market and get ready to

found a family. Right now he´s got more enough, taking care of the

cat Rambo.

If you´re a reader of konghalvor.com, you might know that Halvor is

very concerned that the sight is a homepage, not a blog. Also he is not

a blogger, but a “hjalmar”. The reason for thisis that people asosiate

bloggers with blond girls and pink stuff. He also says that he updates

to rarely for it to be a blog.

Halvor inspires a lot of people and many makes their own video

versions of what he has done before. He believes that in order to

succeed in creative professions, you have to think different and create

something unice and specialize in that. “If there is anything we don´t

need more of in this world, it´s more portraits in the autumlight with

bokeh in the background,” he laughs and he adds that painting half

your face black isn´t very original either.

Halvor is in firm belief of doing things for you. Writing the blog to

make other people read it is unnecessary, but it is still written in a

way that other people can be a part of it. He likes the though of being

able to look back on the blog and see what he did in the past. By

using a language everybody can understand, he makes sure that both

the people who knows him and the people who has never read the

blog before, can understand him. The blog is a playground where he

can publish great amounts of media in addition to getting feedback.

Through his blog he has learnt to write, but the main reason for why

his blogging is that it´s fun.

Even though Halvor hasn`t had his big breakthrough when it comes

to film and TV, it seems like he knows what it takes and he gives the

impression of wanting to succeed. I seriously doubt that the blog and

twitter is what he will be remembered for because he has a great

attitude when it comes to media and the occupations in that industry.

“If there is anything we don´t need more of in this world, it´s more portraits in the autumlight with bokeh in the background”

Nero is a man of many occupations. “Atlas is his writer name and

in his new book, he will talk about love and people. The book will be

autobiographical, poetic and scientific.

I think we can expect a lot from Nero in the future and I can honestly

say that you have to look a lot to find a more creative person.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?I get inspired by almost every pop-culture and I can dress very dif-

ferent from one day to another. I can browse through an issue of

Gentlemen´s Quarterly and get inspired by Jude Law wearing a suit

from Armani, but also by watching an 80´s action movie or browse

through tumblr.

When it comes to movies, I am very inspired by the movie Enter The

Void and the music video for Antidote by Knife Party and Swedish

House Mafia.

Pink Floyd, NERO (no relations to my name) and Jack Beats are

some inspirational artist, but I like different types of music too.

HOW DO YOU INSPIRE OTHERS?I don´t do anything specific to inspire others, but I hope that others

get or will get inspired some day. If you don´t want to be famous for

the money or the fame, inspiring others is probably the best reward.

The snow is finding it´s way through your new winter boots and the

hat that looks so good, don´t really seem to keep the chill off your

ears. The wind comes through your spring jacket that you bought

way to early. Being outside seems absurd, why did you even bother

stepping outside the door?

The winter is here and we can´t wait for long summer nights. Still, the

winter is nice. When the snow is falling and you witness a rare silent,

the people around you got sparkle in their hair and when you step

into a cafè, there`s a wonderful warmth and smell flowing at you.

So make time for an extra cafè-visit, buy a hip, warm jacket and en-

joy your time, either inside or outside. Don´t let the winterdepresions

get in the way for what you usually love to do!

I guess I was about 15 when I the dream of being a photographer

really started to take place in my head. Countless evenings spent

in my room taking selfies with the lamp in the ceiling as only light-

source. A lot has changed since then though. The reality is clearer, but

in a way I still feel more optimistic now. Going from photographing

jewerly on my nightstand-table to planning photo shoots is a big step

and I feel that I´ve started thinking big now. I don´t just want to pho-

tograph a smiling girl on a chair in a photo studio, I want to travel,

inspire and be the most creative I can be.

When it comes to role models and inspirations, I must say that Tim

Walker is the only option for my answer. I like to mix my own ideas

with all the inspiration out there. I also believe in standing out as

much as you can. I think this is important if you want to capture other

people´s attention, witch is kind of the point with a photograph.

Explaining why I love photography is really hard for me. It´s like ex-

plaining why you love food, you need it and it tastes good, but why?

You only put it in your mouth, chew it, swallow and it´s over. What I

know is that photography makes me really happy. I love this big kick I

get when I look at the pictures on the computer and I know I did well.

My dream is to work as a photographer and loving it. I want to work

for the best magazines and I want to be the photographer that every-

body knows. I am lucky that I got to study media and communications

at high school and I am lucky who get the chance to study photogra-

phy and hopefully later work with it.

“I like to mix my own ideas with all the inspiration out there. I also belive in standing out as much as you can.”

Wakingup

tomorrowMy generation has gotten a reputation of being multitasked. We

are constantly connected through smartphones, computers,

ipads, playstations, tv`s, you can even log on to facebook on your

camera now. As teenagers we have to do good in school, have a busy

sociallife, dress good, do sports and so on. I have myself, felt the pres-

sure of hundreds of deadlines through a day. Some I get from school,

work, family and friends and some I create myself.

Living with all these deadlines have caused a king of stress and it

makes me feel bad for relaxing and having fun. Usually I motivate

myself by saying that I can relax when I´m done, but by that time I

have to go to bed. Sometimes I struggle with the thought of finishing

everything tomorrow, but there is just no time today.

I also have the problem of never being able to say no. Volunteering for

stuff in school is often something I enjoy, but saying yes to everything

makes this a stress factor. I have now decided that to not hit a wall

where everything stops, I have to calm down a little. I have officially

stopped saying yes to everything and I only do what I feel I need and

want to do. So what if I didn`t get to work out five times this week? So

what if I say no to going out with the girls every weekend?

Taking care of your mind and body is important to live a long and

happy life. I am not saying that you should be lazy, I am simply say-

ing that it helps to prioritize. If your body feels sour and tiered, take

a yoga class instead of that hard class you had signed up for. Take

an hour in front of the TV instead of doing someone else`s work on

your presentation tomorrow. Keep being you, keep fighting, keep giving

everything you have, just don´t fall off on your way there.

“Sometimes I struggle with the thought of finnishing everything tomorrow, but there is just no time today.”
