Custom Data Entry Form

Create a VRA Core template for data entry

Use CCO guidelines for the online data dictionary

Built-in authority lists

Page 9: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Drag-and-drop a single image

Most common image, video, and sound formats are supported.

Page 10: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

EmbARK automatically creates a thumbnail and captures the image metadata.

Page 11: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Image record automatically attached to the work.

Page 12: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Drag-and-drop additional files to create IMAGE records for other views.

Works and Images may be loaded as a Batch

•-> Configure import file to create data record and link to image at the same time!

Page 15: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Take data from an Excel file…

Page 16: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Then map to fields in EmbARK

Import can be used to create new records or update existing ones.

Page 17: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Import VRA Core XML

Page 18: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Page 19: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

And automatically have Work/Image records

Page 20: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Page 21: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Apply terms from thesauri such as AAT to multiple records at once. (AAT available for free with purchase.)

Page 22: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Practice good database design, not strict adherence to standards.

By entering Creator FIRST and LAST names separately, the system can generate DISPLAY and SORT names.

Page 23: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Enter dimensions into separate Height, Width, and Depth fields so that system can automatically convert English <> metric.

Page 24: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems

Batch acquire images: EmbARK will link to existing record or make a new record. Multiple images can link to a single Work based on the matching id field.

Page 25: VRA 2012, Vendor Slam, Gallery Systems
