Why loss to BSNL and VRS?

BSNL has to pay heavy

license fee to get

spectrum in all circles.

Similarly MTNL has to

pay like that.

DoT will compel govt.

corporations to pay

amount. They have no

choice to choose circles.

Private operators like

Bharti,Vodafone,Idea,Rel

iance,Tata can choose

their choice of circles.

VRS and 3 G

Bharti will get licence for 9 circles but will operate

in 20 circles.

Idea cellular will licence in 11 circles but sell 3 g in

19 circles.

Vodafone Essar will pay for 13 circles but provide

3 G services in 20 circles.

VRS and 3 G

DoT is not allowing Mobile virtual network in

3 G plan.

This plan is under active consideration.

3 G services offered by Bharti,Vodafone and Idea

under UASL

License cannot offer 3 G services and declare a tariff

plan for customers.

TRAI states 3 G services as a

violation of terms and

conditions of the licence.

BSNL strongly objected to the

roaming agreements among

private operators.

TRAI directions to be followed. Who will pay BSNL?

BSNL disconnected landline services to private operators in Punjab, Haryana. Because of non payment of charges to BSNL, BSNL disconnected services. TRAI intervened and directed BSNL to reconnect the services.

BSNL resisted and wrote to TRAI.

At last TRAI directions were to be followed because BSNL is a govt. corporation and should not affect consumers.

Why BSNL is running loss?

When BSNL was made corporation, there was no idea of huge surrender of landlines. Surrender of landlines is now not confined to BSNL but all over the world.

Private operators

outsource many

services. They are

not maintaining rural

services.

They pay fine and

go away.

to reduce workforce

and plans to go for

disinvestment once

BSNL starts showing

profits.

BSNL staff may got some benefits like getting Pay and DA for some months left in service but what about the future of DoT buildings and infrastructure with our blood and toil in which BSNL is housed..

For the future of BSNL employees,

To safeguard the interest of the public,

To maintain DoT buildings and not to transfer lands

and assets to private operators in the name of

selling shares,.

To serve the rural areas after getting due

compensation from the govt.

Participate in the strike proposed by JAC.
