(1) G.T.U. Zonal Football tournament :
Gtu football tournament 2013-14
Four foreign students from Department of Civil engineering was the part of
V.V.P. college team, who was the winner of G.T.U. tournament – 2013.All the
foreign student enthusiastically participated and played a key role in the success
of team.

(2) Village visit by 1st year student : Ms. Luisa Dagracasambora Mugire
from Mozambique , Academic Batch : 2015 - 2019
Ms. Luisa Dagracasambora Mugire has visited Two Villages (1)
Haripar (2) Virda Vajdi on the first day they met with village people, interacted
with them and also they have observed that how’s their life and culture. Also
they have discussed that what are the various basic facilities available &
different Problems village people are facing.
They have discussed with them that what problems are in their regular
life like water Pollution, Noise pollution, air pollution .also we taught them that
you have so many facilities available compare to them. Ms. Luisa
Dagracasambora Mugire has also visited primary school, Aangan wadi, and
computer lab to know how village students are learning and what kind of
exposure students are getting to elevate their future.
(3) Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 7th January 2015, Chandimandir,
Ghandinagar.
To connect India to its vast overseas diaspora and bring their knowledge,
expertise and skills on a common platform, the PBD Convention - the
flagship event of Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA), Government of
India is organized from 7th-9th January every year since 2003.Pravasi
Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the
contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India.
PBD conventions are being held every year since 2003. These conventions
provide a platform to the overseas Indian community to engage with the
government and people of the land of their ancestors for mutually beneficial
activities. These conventions are also very useful in networking among the
overseas Indian community residing in various parts of the world and enable
them to share their experiences in various fields. This year Students got
opportunity to visit this fair organized at Chandimandir, Gandhinagar on 7th
January 2015.
(4) 22nd Sept. Tarnatar. An event organized by ICCCR Gujarat.
India is known to be as Festive of Joy. Among all states various cultural
differences using various ways to joy. India celebrates this in way of
“Festive of Fair”. Very well known fairs in india are like “Khumb Melo”,
“Shivratri Melo”, “Tarnetar Melo”,”Puskar Melo”. Same like Gujarat is very
well known for its “Tarnetar Melo” helded every year in Gujarat. They have
seen some Indian traditional cultural activity and they have enjoyed rides
and many things. This year Students got opportunity to visit this fair
organized by ICCCR Gujarat on 22nd September. Students have enjoyed this
fair.
(5) Experiences of foreigner student in Gujarat
Being a foreigner in India, I have come to learn a new language that is Gujarati
which is quite interesting.
I have some memorable experiences spent in VVP Engineering College but the
most memorable one was during Bridge Course when we went for village visit. It
was really interesting to discover the different lifestyle of people living in those
villages.
Also, I really enjoyed learning the Indian culture and also enjoyed practicing
yoga and meditation which was quite a new thing to me.
(6) A Report of KOFFI TINDO KEVIN- 3rd Semester Biotechnology Engg. Student.
KOFFI TINDO KEVIN studying in 3rd semester Biotechnology Dept., V.V.P. Engg.
College, Rajkot. His Enrollment no. is 140470104021. He is leaving along not
with any buddy or any host family. He has very good experiences and
relationship with others like faculty members, classmates, college mates and
surrounding people. He is happy with the cooperation and hospitality he is
receiving from all the people. So far as his study is concerned he is improving in
academics and English too. He got good marks in mid sem and final examination
of current and previous semester respectively. He participated in GTU football
tournament and represented the college. He was a goal maker for that match.
As a part of other activity he participated in 13th pravasi bharatiya divas, where
he got to know about Gujarat and its heritage. He came to know the ancient
history of India including the contribution given by the father of the nation, late
shri Mahamata Gandhiji. He got the information about Indian culture and the
culture of Gujarat there.
(7) HOLI DHOOM :
Celebration of festival of colour by foreign students, “It’s a
miracle how only few colors can bond many people.”
(8) Girls are also one step ahead in V.V.P. engineering
college
There are total four foreign students in Mechanical Engineering Department namely,
Dorji Wangmo, Pema Yangchem both from Bhutan at present in 5th semester , Sheena
Lepoche from South Africa at present in 3rd semester, and Marisha harindu charitha
amadoru from Sri Lanka, presently in 1st semester.
All of them are regular, punctual and obedient students. Their behavior with other
students in hostel and in college is appreciable. Pema Yangchen, had participated and
won the 2nd Prize in paper presentation on topic “Lemon Battery”. It was an ISTE
event organized in our college, September 2013. Her colleague Dorji Wangmo won the
1st Prize in the same event in paper presentation on topic “3D Security Password”.
Recently, Pema Yangchen and Sheena Lepoche has actively participated in
football tournament and came out as champion of Saurashtra zone.
All of them have actively participated in the event of garba night organized
by our college. And they are showing keen interest to participate in any of the co-
curricular activities organized in any of the colleges.
Their academic performance is also appreciable, Pema, Dorji and Sheena
has cleared all the exams of G.T.U with very good grades without any backlogs. Also
they are completing their assignments on time. They are attending the class regularly
which in turn helps them to score food grades.
