• Dedupe and Compression are enabled on a cluster level (all flash only)
• Dedupe domain is disk group
– This implementation minimizes CPU and network overhead
– Avoids the requirement of a global lookup table for fingerprints
• Deduplication happens when de-staging from cache tier to capacity tier
– No latency impact on writes
• Fixed block length deduplication (4KB Blocks), increases chances of finding duplicate blocks
› Dedup metadata consumes between 3 and 5% of usable capacity
• Data is compressed after deduplication, but only if compression results in less than 2KB
– This can result in endurance increase
