1 Introduction

The device supports WLAN access, as WLAN AP or WLAN router, to internet or intranet. It is compliance with IEEE 802.11,802.11b/g specifications, and complies with WEP, WPA and WPA2 security specifications.

1.1 Feature

Supports IEEE802.3 and IEEE802.3u

Supports DHCP server (253)/Client functions

Supports static routing functions

Supports version upgrade through WEB

Supports reset functions: “reset” and WEB

Supports virtual server functions

Supports DMZ functions

Supports WEB interfaces

Supports remote access control

Supports quick configuration

Supports firewall (including IP filter)

Supports system status display

Supports electronic signature

Supports PPP IP extension functions.

Supporting IGMP.

Supports configuration files backup and restoration functions.

Provides four Ethernet interfaces that can be used at the same time. Ethernet supported such as Crossover Detection & Auto-Correction and polarity correction IEEE 802.11b/g.

2 Web Configuration Management

2.1 Login

Run Internet Explorer ,Input “http://192.168.1.254 “ in the address bank. you will see the fallowing interface:

Then, input the username and password and hit the “enter” button.The default username/password is admin/admin.

2.2 Setup Wizard

The setup wizard will guide you to configure access point for first time. Please follow the setup wizard step by step.

2.3 Operation Mode

You can setup different modes to LAN and WLAN interface for NAT and bridging function.

Gateway: In this mode, routing function between lan(wlan) and wan will work.

Bridge: In this mode,bridge function between lan and Wi-Fi will work. Wan function is disabled.

Wireless ISP: See the introduction in the webpage.

2.4 Wireless

Hit “Wireless”button to open out the sub-Menu:Basic Settings,Advanced Settings,Security,Access Control,

WDS,Site Survey.

2.4.1 Basic settings

This page is used to configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients which may connect to your Access

Point. Here you may change wireless encryption settings as well as wireless network parameters.

Disable Wireless LAN Interface:choose to disable wireless LAN Interface

Band:2.4G Hz(B)/ 2.4G Hz(G)/ 2.4G Hz(B+G)/Wi-Fi-G / Wi-Fi-BG.

Mode:AP / Client / WDS.Default : AP.

SSID:a string up to 32 letter to identify AP.

Channel Number:1-11,suport autoconfiguration.Default : Auto.

Radio Power : 15mW,30mW,60mW.

Associated Clients:to display all the clients.

2.4.2 Advanced Settings

Warning: modify the settings only if you know well.

Encryption:None,WEP,WPA(TKAP),WPA2(AES),WPA2 Mixed.

Use 802.1x Authentication:Using 802.1x , need to configure RADIUS sever.

WEP: hit the button titled “Set WEP Key” ,then set the key.

Key Length:64-bit or 128-bit.

Key Format:support two format : Hex and ASC II.

Default Tx Key:Using the Encryption Key x. x is the number one to four.

Hit the button titled Apply Changes to become effective.

WPA: choose RADIUS or PSK.

2.4.4 Access Control

Wireless Access Control Mode: Disable / Allow Listed/ Deny Listed.

Disable: not use Wireless Access Control Mode.

Allow Listed: the MAC listed is allowed to access AP.

Deny Listed: the MAC listed is not allowed to access AP.

WDS:Wireless Distribution System.

2.4.5 WDS Settings

You can setting here unless you choose WDS mode in Basic Settings page. Choose Enable WDS to enable

the WDS function.

Function buttons in this page:

Choose Enable WDS to enable the WDS function.

“Apply Changes”: Set your new setting.

“Reset”: Discard your settings.

“Set Security”;

Press this button then the bellow window will be opened. This page allows you setup the wireless security for

WDS. When enabled, you must make sure each WDS device has adopted the same encryption algorithm and

“Show statistics”

Press this button then the bellow window will be opened. This page shows the MAC address, transmission,

receiption packet counters and state information for each configured WDS AP.

“Delete Selected”:

Delete the row which you select in the WDS AP List.

“Delete All”: Delete all the row in the WDS AP List.

2.4.6 Site Sruvey

Function buttons in this page:

When device working in Client mode,to browse the APs.

2.4.7 EasyConfig

This page allows you change the setting for EasyConfig. Use this feature could let your wireless client

automically syncronize its setting and connect to the Access Point in a minute without any hassle. Choose

Enable EasyConfig to enable EasyConfig function.

2.5 TCP/IP Settings

Hit “TCP/IP Settings”button to open out the sub-Menu:LAN Interface and WAN Interface.

2.5.1 LAN Interface

Function option in this page:

IP Address:Input the local area network’s IP.

Subnet Mask:Input the local area network’s Subnet Mask.

Default Gateway:Input the local area network’s Default Gateway.

DHCP: Choose Disabled to disable DHCP function. Else you can choose Server or Client for your computer.

DHCP Client Range: If you choose DHCP Server, you should input the DHCP Client Range.

Show Client: Hit “Show Client” button to open the bellow window Active DHCP Client Table .

Domain Name: Input your domain name if you have.

802.1d Spanning Tree: You can choose Disabled or Enabled to disable or enable this function.

Clone MAC Address: Input the clone MAC address.

“Apply Changes”: Save the setting of this page.

“Reset”: Discard the setting of this page.

2.5.2 WAN Interface

Function option of this page:

WAN Access Type: You can choose Static IP, DHCP Client, PPPoE and PPTP.

Static IP:You should config IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and MTU Size.

DHCP Client: You should config Host Name,MTU Size, and choose Attain DNS Automatically or Set DNS

Manually.

PPPoE: You should config User Name, Password, Service Name, Conection Type, Idle Time, MTU Size, and

choose Attain DNS Automatically or Set DNS Manually.

PPTP: You should config IP Address, Subnet Mask, Server IP Address, User Name, Password, MTU Size,

enable Request MPPE Encryption or not, and choose Attain DNS Automatically or Set DNS

Manually.

Clone MAC Address: Input the clone MAC address.

And you can enable six function.

“Apply Changes”: Save the config of this page.

“Reset”: Discard the config of this page.

2.6 Firewall

Firewall is an advance feature used to deny or allow traffic from passing through the device. WLAN Access Point

supports some firewall related functions.

2.6.1 Port Filtering

Using the Port filters,you can deny specific port numbers or all ports for a specific IP address.

Function options in this page:

Enable Port Filtering: Enable port filtering function.

Port Range: Enter the port you want to deny.

Protocol: Select the protocol you want to deny.

Comment: Enter the comment if you like.

“Apply Changes”: Save your config of this page.

“Delete Selected”: Delete the Filter which you select.

“Delete All”: Delete all the Filter of the Filter Table.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.

2.6.2 IP Filtering

Use the IP filters to deny/allow particular LAN IP addresses from accessing the Internet.

Function options in this page:

Enable IP Filtering: Enable IP filtering function.

Loal IP Address: Enter the IP you want to deny.

Protocol: Select the protocol you want to deny.

Comment: Enter the comment if you like.

“Apply Changes”: Save your config of this page.

“Delete Selected”: Delete the Filter which you select.

“Delete All”: Delete all the Filter of the Filter Table.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.

2.6.3 MAC Filtering

Use the MAC filters to deny computers within the local area network from accessing the Internet.

2.6.4 Port Forwarding

Firewall keeps unwanted traffic from the Internet away from your LAN computers. Add a Port Forwarding

entry will create a tunnel through your firewall so that the computers on the Internet can communicate to one

of the computers on your LAN on the port range.

2.6.5 URL Filtering

Use the URL filters to deny the LAN users from accessing the Internet.

Enable URL Filtering: Enable URL filtering function.

URL Address: Enter the URL Address you want to deny.

“Apply Changes”: Save your config of this page.

“Delete Selected”: Delete the Filter which you select.

“Delete All”: Delete all the Filter of the Filter Table.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.

2.6.6 DMZ

DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) allows a single computer on your LAN to expose ALL of its ports to the Internet.

Enter the IP address of that computer as a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) host with unrestricted Internet access.

When doing this, the DMZ host is no longer behind the firewall.

DMZ Host IP Address: Enter the IP address of that computer as a DMZ host with unrestricted Internet access.

2.7 Management

2.7.1 Status

This page shows the current status and some basic settings of the device. Include System, Wireless

Configuration, TCP/IP Configuration and WAN Configuration information.

2.7.2 Statistics

This page shows the packet counters for transmission and reception regarding to wireless and Ethernet

networks.

Function buttons in this page:

“Refresh”: Refresh the packet table.

2.7.3 DDNS

Dynamic DNS is a service, that provides you with a valid, unchanging, internet domain name (an URL) to

go with that (possibly everchanging) IP-address.

Function option in this page:

Enable DDNS: Enable DDNS function.

Service Provider: You can choose DynDNS or TZO as the service provider.

Domain Name: Enter your Domain Name.

User Name/Email: Enter your user name or email.

Password/Key: Enter your Password or Key.

“Apply Changes”: Save your config of this page.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.

2.7.4 Time Zone Setting

User can set system time manually or use NTP to get system time from time server.

Function option in this page:

Current Time: Config the system time manually.

Time Zone Select: You can choose the time zone.

Enable NTP client update: Enable the Network Time Protocol.

NTP server: You can choose the server in the list or enter the server’s IP you want.

“Apply Change”: Save your config of this page.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.

“Refresh”: Refresh the time server.

2.7.5 Denail-of-service

A "denial-of-service" (DoS) attack is characterized by an explicit attempt by hackers to prevent legitimate

users of a service from using that service.

Function option in this page:

Enable Dos: Enable the Dos function.

You can select the check box to prevent the Dos attack.

“Select ALL”: Select all the check box above.

“Clear ALL”: Unselect all the check box above.

Enable Source IP Blocking: Enable the function of blocking the source IP.

“Apply Changes”: Save your config in this page.

2.7.6 Log

This page can be used to set remote log server and show the system log.

Function option in this page:

Enable Log: Enable the log function.

System all: Selecting this option, the wireless and Dos will be selected.

Enable Remote Log: Enable the remote log function.

Log Server IP Address: If you enable the remote log function, you should enter the Log Server IP Address.

“Apply Changes”: Save your configuration in this page.

“Refresh”: Refresh the log showed in the text area above.

2.7.7 Upgrade Firmware

Upgrade WLAN Access Point firmware to newer version.

To upgrade the AP’s firmware, you should:

1. Click the “Browse” button to find the firmware upgrade file.

2. Double-click the firmware upgrade file.

3. Click the “Upload” button, and follow the on-screen instructions.

IMPORTANT! Do not turn off your modem or press the Reset button while this procedure is in progress.

Save Settings to File: Hit the “save...” button then select the path you want to save the setting file.

Load Settings from file: Road the setting file from your local computer.

Reset Settings to Default: Hit the “Reset” button then the setting will be change to the default.

2.7.9 Password

User can set some other advanced settings.

Function options in this page:

User Name: Enter your user name.

New Password: Enter your password of this user name.

Confirmed Password: Confirm your password.

“Apply Changes”: Save your configuration of this page.

“Reset”: Discard your setting of this page.
