How Can I Help My Child Be Successful in School?

• READ EVERYDAY!! You can read to your child, and encourage him or her to read to you…either way…READ!!!

• Create a consistent afterschool routine. Remind your child to unpack his/her backpack and show all work to you!! This is his/her chance to show off the hard work.

• BE POSITIVE!! Always speak in a positive tone about school, learning, and your child’s teacher.

• ENCOURAGE! Give your child the opportunity to excel in all areas of academics.

• Be sure your child is getting plenty of rest each night and is ready for school each day.

• TEACH PRIDE!! Teach your child to be responsible for his/her actions and take pride in all they do!

• STAY INVOLVED!! Make it a point to ask your child about his/her day at school! Ask what good or bad things happened at school.

• REMEMBER…your child is not you and will not have the same academic or social outcomes you did in school.

• COMMUNICATE…Please know you can contact me with any questions or concerns. My e-mail address: [email protected]
