About the Programme The Master of Arts in Development Studies and Diplomacyis an interdisciplinary and holistic programme that willnot only broaden student’s knowledge in the field ofdevelopment studies, sustainability and diplomacy but itwill also equip them with the required soft skills for asuccessful international career in any of these areas ofexpertise. It is offered both online and face-to-face onthe UPEACE campus in Costa Rica. During this programme,students will analyse the different dimensions ofdevelopment including, environmental, social, economicand human dimensions as well as the theory and practiceof diplomacy in the 21st century. Students will alsoattend skills development sessions that are designed tosupport their professional career and employability.Careers in this field can be very broad. Prospectiveemployers include governments, internationalorganizations, development agencies, academia and theprivate sector.

Duration
Students must complete the Master of Arts inDevelopment Studies and Diplomacy (face-to-face) intwo semesters. Students can complete the Master of Artsin Development Studies and Diplomacy (online) and theCertificate in Development Studies and Diplomacy (online)in a maximum of 4 semesters.
