Kanha National Park is considered by some as India’s greatest park and provides a diverse habitat to support many mammal and bird species. The densely forested hills of sal and bamboo, grassy plateaus and extensive meadows in the valleys make an attractive setting for a safari. The sheer size and re-moteness also means that Kanha is often less busy than other parks. Bandhavgarh National Park is located amongst the Vindya Hills of Madhya Pradesh and consists of a relatively small core area of 105 sq km, with a buffer area of approximately 400 sq km. The setting of Bandhavgarh is impressive; the ruins of the ancient fort provide a stunning backdrop, with archaeo-logical remains of the Kalchin period and numerous prehistoric caves around the park. There are more than 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. Common Langurs and Rhesus Macaque represent the primate group. Carnivores include the Asiatic Jackal, Bengal Fox, Sloth Bear, Ratel, Gray Mongoose, Striped Hyena, Jungle Cat, Leopard and Tiger. The artiodactyls frequently sighted are Wild Pigs, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Chausingha, Nilgai, Chinkara and Gaur. Mammals such as Dhole, the small Indian Civet, Palm Squirrel and Lesser Bandicoot Rat are seen occasionally. Among the herbivores, Gaur is the only coarse feeder. Pench National Park on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra has been known through the ages for its rich flora and fauna. Named after the river that flows nearby, Pench was declared a Wild-life Sanctuary in 1983, though it had been declared a notified area in 1972. In1992 Pench was included under the umbrella of Project Tiger as the 19th Project Tiger Reserve. The area is especially famous for large herds of Gaur (Indian Bison), Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Dog and Wild Pig. The key predator is the Tiger followed by Leopard, Wild Dog and Wolf. Ranthambore National Park is located near the town of Sawai Madhopur, which is around 180 km south

east of Jaipur in Rajasthan. The park derives its name from the 11th century fort of Ranthambhore, which

sits on a rocky outcrop in the forest. The fort was a vital citadel for the control of central India. Though

overrun by vegetation, remnants of the summer palaces, temples and guard stones within the fort still re-

main. Earlier the hunting reserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur, the park at Ranthambhore was once the scene

of royal hunting parties. Today, it is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see

these majestic predators in the wild. Being one of the most accessible parks it is very popular and therefore

runs with strict rules and regulations. Why not consider flying above the mountain ranges of Ranthambhore

Satpura National Park is cradled in the Satpura Range of the Mahadeo Hills and straddles the State of Madhya

Pradesh. Satpura national park provides 1427 sq kms of unique Central Indian Highland ecosystem. Satpura is unchar-

tered and unspoiled and represents wilderness at its very best. This reserve is part of one of the largest contiguous

blocks of forest left in India and is still connected to other reserves by forest 'corridors'. This region there-

Day 2 New Delhi – Bandhavgarh ( 2.15 hrs by Flight/ 165 Kms – 4 hrs) Today morning after an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your morning flight to Jabalpur where you will be met by our local representative and driven to Bandhavgarh National Park (165Km/4hrs). The female tigress called Sita, who once appeared on the cover of National Geographic, is considered the most photographed tiger in the world. The 105 km² of park area open to tourists was reported to have 22 tigers, a density of one tiger for every 4.77 km². (Population estimation exercise 2001). The population of tigers in the park in 2012 is about 44-49. There is a saying about the Park that goes: "In any other Park, You are lucky if you see a tiger. In Bandhavgarh, you are unlucky if you don't see (at least) one." Upon arrival check in and after relaxing lunch at the resort. A stop will be made en-route at Tamia ridge, which gives us a panoramic view of the Sat-pura Range. After check-in at our lodge, you are free to spend the day relaxing or exploring your surroundings. We may go on a nature walk if there is time. The rugged yet scenic terrain of Satpura National Park consists of deep valleys, high mountains, rivulets and waterfalls. This 524 square kilometer park is home to animals such as the Tiger, Leop-ard, Sloth Bear and Wolf. Day 11, 12 - Satpura National Park We explore Satpura's wilderness over the next two days. Both days begin with an early morning game drive at dawn. We maximize our chances of spotting animals by going on both morning and afternoon drives. We head to the lodge after our morning drive and relax until lunch. We set out to explore the park once more in the afternoon. This is an ideal time to spot birds and the landscapes of the park provide for a perfect photo opportunity.

Day 3- Delhi to Agra Early morning departure by Shatabdi Express train to Agra (2 hours/first class carriage). Agra was once the capital city of the mighty Mughals and much of its majesty can be attributed to the vision and power of Akbar the Great and his grandson, Shan Jahan. Your first visit in Agra will be to the marble magnificence of the Taj Mahal which needs little introduction. Built by Shah Jahan to honour the memory of his wife, Mumtaz, the Taj is one of the world’s most iconic buildings, taking over 20 years to build and costing in excess of 3 million rupees. Later proceed to your hotel, to check in. After time to freshen up your visit to Agra continues with a visit to the imposing sandstone edifice of Agra Fort. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fort is liberally blessed with a dazzling array of palaces and mosques. Cross the Yamuna River for a heritage trail journey to take you away from the tourist trail. A walk along a narrow bridle path through agricultural fields takes you to the ancient village of Kachhpura. with the opportunity to see village life. Day 4- Agra to Ranthambore National Park This morning drive to Bharatpur (56km/approximately 1½ hours not including sightseeing) via the magical ambience of the deserted 16th cen-tury city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Akbar the Great and abandoned on the emperor’s death. In the afternoon board an Express train (2 hours 15 minutes/ air-conditioned chair car) to Sawai Mad-hopur and proceed by road to Ranthambhor Na-tional Park (16 km/45 minutes approximately). Day 5- Ranthambore National Park Located near the town of Sawai Madhophur in eastern Rajasthan, Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger. The park itself consists of 400 square kilometres of dry deciduous forest (once a part of the magnificent jungles of Central India), which is an excellent natural habitat for tigers. As well as tiger, Ran-thambore has large numbers of sambar, chital and nilgai. Sounders of boar and an occasional gazelle - the chinkara can be seen, as well as the Indian hare, mongoose and monitor lizards. The lakes and pools at the park are where the deer congre-gate and where it is easiest to see the animals. Game-drives will be taken in the early morning and late afternoon. sion to the majestic Amber Fort.Take an elephant

chitecture, construct by Raja Mann Singh in 1592

and completed by Swai Jai Singh, the fort is made

in red sand stone and white marble.

Later visit the City Palace and the Observatory

and photo stop near the Palace of Winds, also

known as Hawa Mahal.In the evening, you have

the option to see an ethnic village

City Palace located in the heart of the old city of

Jaipur, is a blend of Mughal and Rajasthani archi-

tecture and the royal family still lives in a part of

this Palace. The building now forms the Maharaja

Swai Man Singh II Museum and on display here is

Day 3 – Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh National Park (225 Kms/5 hrs) After breakfast we will drive for Bandhavgarh National Park and on arrival check into a jungle lodge. Set among the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh with an area of 168 sq miles (437 sq km), Bandhav-garg contains a wide variety of habitats and a high density of game, including a large number of tigers. Bandhavgarh was declared Project Tiger Reserve in 1993. Bandhavgarh national park have a very long history. Overnight at the Lodge. A game drive at dawn begins the day on an early note. Dawn is an ideal time for bird watching and sighting of deer and several mammals. Breakfast awaits at the lodge after the game drive. You can re-lax till after lunch. A game drive in the late afternoon is scheduled. Late afternoons and evenings are a good time to sight animals, and for bird watching. Photographers have ample opportunity to click great

Day 6 - Bandhavgarh National Park to Kanha National Park (270 Kms/5.5 hrs) Today, after an early breakfast we head for Kanha National Park (approx 6 hours drive). Kanha is our

base for the next three days. We check-in at the lodge and go on an afternoon game drive after lunch. The first game drive into the park will give you a glimpse of the forest. The forest, made up of

Sal trees interspersed with meadows, is home to sev-eral animals. We head back to the lodge at dusk. We advise you to get enough rest today as the next two days begin early and are packed!

Kanha National Park is a beautiful reserve that is rich in wildlife. It encompasses lush meadows, thick forests and water bodies. As you enter, the subtle fragrance of the Sal forest and the incessant sound

of cicada will captivate you. Kanha is home to the rare hard ground Barasingha or Swamp Deer. You might also see spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Langurs, Leopards and Dholes (Wild Dogs). If there is time,

we will drive to Bahmni Dadar – the highest point in Kanha. It offers a panoramic view of the entire Na-tional park.

Day 11 - Pench National Park to Satpura National Park (325 Kms/6 hrs) Today we leave Pench and drive for about 7 hours to Satpura National Park. Packed breakfast will be carried

along. A stop will be made en-route at Tamia ridge, which gives us a panoramic view of the Satpura Range. After check-in at our lodge, you are free to spend the day relaxing or exploring your surroundings. We may

go on a nature walk if there is time. The rugged yet scenic terrain of Satpura National Park consists of deep valleys, high mountains, rivulets and waterfalls. This 524 square kilometer park is home to

animals such as the Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear and Wolf. The park's northern end is bordered by the Tawa Dam, where one can spot birds such as Black Eagles and Hornbills.

There after you will sail downstream in a country boat to Bhorelli - Brah-maputra river confluence to spot river Dolphins. After the boat ride we will drive a short distance to visit a tea estate where we will have our lunch. Post lunch we will drive to the Burrapahar range of Kaziranga National Park for a jungle walk accompanied by the forest ranger and our naturalist. This range com-prises of both thick forests and grassland. Day 3 Kaziranga National Park – Nameri National Park Early morning go for another elephant ride inside the park. After breakfast you will be transferred to Nameri National Park. Check into your tents. After lunch at the camp, we set out on foot to discover a picturesque Mishing village nearby. In the evening blend in to the music and dance performance by a tribal troupe in the camp. Dinner and overnight in the camp. Mishing are the riverine plain tribes of Assam which is the second largest group of scheduled tribe of the state. As a riverine tribe they construct their houses on stilts about five feet from the ground which is about 30 – 40 meter on length. Linguistically Mishing people belong to Tibeto – Burman sub group. Day 4 Nameri National Park We will leave our camps early in the morning, board a paddle boat that will take you to the other side of River Jia Bhorelli. Disembark to take a short walk to the Potasali forest camp. Breakfast at the camp. After breakfast we will carry on for a jungle walk stopping at a couple of watch towers. This trek generally takes 2 hours but we are flexible to extend it depending upon your interest in bird-watching. Return to the forest camp for lunch. Later resume walk (approx 1 hour, longer for avid birdwatchers) from Potasali Camp to Oubari Camp and Moniram Beel (water body) for a chance sighting of the rare and endangered White Winged Wood duck. Backtrack and divert to Korua Beel (about another 25 minutes walk), a point where one may have possibilities of sighting Gaur, Elephants, Flying squirrels and Deer. Return to Potasali camp, cross river by dugout and back to our tented cottages by evening for dinner and overnight stay. Jungle Camp at Nameri Nameri National Park, situated at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas on the banks of the River Bhorelli coming down from the hills of Arunachal Pradesh, is home to rare bird life like the Great Indian Horn-bill and the White Winged Wood Duck. The advantage of this wonderful park is that you have to do all your birding on foot, as there are no jeepable roads. Rafting is another option where expert boatmen will steer your rafts while you are free to look for the aquatic birds. Ruddy Shell Duck, cormorants are common. Nameri also houses eight globally threatened and five near-threatened species including the White Winged Wood Duck. Ibisbill, Pied Kingfisher, wreathed hornbill, Blue-eared kingfisher, King Vultures are some of the other most sought after birds

Day 5 Nameri National Park – Kaziranga Na-tional Park Today we offer our guests two different options, river rafting on the Jia Bhoreli River or a jungle walk in a nearby forest. We can go for a river rafting by rubber boats on the quiet and serene Jia Bhoreli River flowing through the Nameri national Park with great views of the forest and the not-so-distant mountains. This route is around 18 Kms and takes around 2-3 hrs. For those not going for rafting can opt for a guided walking safari in the Mekahi Mound to a rest point by the river back to our cottages. This walk is through scrubland and paddy fields. Beside the beautiful forest, the main attraction on this walk is the many birds that one can encounter during the walk. We will return to the camp for lunch. Post lunch, drive back to the Diphlu River Lodge in Kaziranga National Park. This evening we will re-lax in the lodge, discussing our day’s adventures. Day 4 Ahmedabad This morning after breakfast we will Dada Hari Wav and Sarkhej Rosa. Dada Hari Wav, built in 1499 by a woman of Sultan Begara’s harem, has steps to lower platforms, terminating at a small, octagonal well. Located 8km south-west of the city, Sarkhej Rosa is a collection of intriguing Islamic buildings. They clus-ter around a great tank, constructed by Sultan Mah-mud Shah. Then we will visit the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque and Swaminarayan Temple. The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, built in 1573, is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad. With its architecture based on Burma teak wood, every coloured arch and bracket is a bright different shade, something that stands out in most Swaminarayan temples. Meet and drive to Kaziranga National Park. Check into Diphlu River Lodge on arrival. Eve-ning go for a leisure walk in the banks of River Diphlu near your lodge. Dinner and overnight. ACCOMODATION: The Diphlu River Lodge Day 14 Kaziranga National Park Early morning enter the National Park on Elephant back. With packed breakfast, go for an open jeep sa-fari inside the park (central range). Return to lodge in time for lunch. After lunch we will go for a jeep safari in the little visited Eastern Range of the National Park, good for its birdlife due to a number of water bodies in this range. Later, return to Lodge. Evening enjoy a traditional dance. ACCOMODATION: The Diphlu River Lodge Day 15 Kaziranga National Park – Nameri Na-tional Park (112 Kms/2 hrs Drive) Early morning go for another elephant ride inside the park. After breakfast you will be transferred to Nameri National Park. Check into your tents. After lunch at the camp, we set out on foot to discover a picturesque Mishing village nearby. In the evening blend in to the music and dance performance by a tribal troupe in the camp. Dinner and overnight in the camp. Mishing are the riverine plain tribes of Assam which is the second largest group of scheduled tribe of the state. As a riverine tribe they construct their houses on stilts about five feet from the ground which is about 30 – 40 meter on length. Linguistically Mishing peo-ple belong to Tibeto – Burman sub group. Day 16 Nameri National Park We will leave our camps early in the morning, board a paddle boat that will take you to the other side of River Jia Bhorelli. Disembark to take a short walk to the Potasali forest camp. Breakfast at the camp. Af-ter breakfast we will carry on for a jungle walk stop-ping at a couple of watch towers. This trek generally takes 2 hours but we are flexible to extend it de-pending upon your interest in bird-watching. Return to the forest camp for lunch. Later resume walk (approx 1 hour, longer for avid birdwatchers) from Potasali Camp to Oubari Camp and Moniram Beel (water body) for a chance sighting of the rare and endangered White Winged Wood duck. Backtrack and divert to Korua Beel (about another 25 minutes walk), a point where one may have possibilities of sighting Gaur, Elephants, Flying squirrels and Deer. Return to Potasali camp, cross river by dugout and back to our tented cottages by evening for dinner and overnight stay. Jungle Camp at Nameri ACCOMODATION: Jungle Camp

Nameri National Park, situated at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas on the banks of the River Bhorelli coming down from the hills of Arunachal Pradesh, is home to rare bird life like the Great Indian Horn-bill and the White Winged Wood Duck. The advantage of this wonderful park is that you have to do all your birding on foot, as there are no jeepable roads. Rafting is another option where expert boatmen will steer your rafts while you are free to look for the aquatic birds. Ruddy Shell Duck, cormorants are common. Nameri also houses eight globally threatened and five near-threatened species including the White Winged Wood Duck. Ibisbill, Pied Kingfisher, wreathed hornbill, Blue-eared kingfisher, King Vultures are some of the other most sought after birds

Day 17 Nameri National Park – Kaziranga Na-tional Park (112 Kms/2 hrs Drive) Today we offer our guests two different options, river rafting on the Jia Bhoreli River or a jungle walk in a nearby forest.We can go for a river raft-ing by rubber boats on the quiet and serene Jia Bhoreli River flowing through the Nameri national Park with great views of the forest and the not-so-distant mountains. This route is around 18 Kms and takes around 2-3 hrs. For those not going for rafting can opt for a guided walking safari in the Mekahi Mound to a rest point by the river back to our cottages. This walk is through scrubland and paddy fields. Beside the beautiful forest, the main attraction on this walk is the many birds that one can encounter during the walk. We will return to the camp for lunch. Post lunch, drive back to the Diphlu River Lodge in Kaziranga National Park. This evening we will relax in the lodge, discussing our day’s adven-tures. Dinner and overnight. ACCOMODATION: The Diphlu River Lodge Day 18 Kaziranga National Park After breakfast we will drive for about an hour to go to the old Silghat River Port by the mighty Brahmaputra River for a Dolphin Boat Safari. A motorized country boat will first take you to Hatimurah temple (10th Century AD) located on top of a hill. There after you will sail downstream in a country boat to Bhorelli - Brahmaputra river confluence to spot river Dolphins. After the boat ride we will drive a short distance to visit a tea estate where we will have our lunch. Post lunch we will drive to the Burrapahar range of Kaziranga National Park for a jungle walk accom-panied by the forest ranger and our naturalist. This range comprises of both thick forests and grass-land. Sightings of the Malayan Giant Squirrel has been reported in this section of the National Park and the other attractions are Pied Kingfishers, River Lapwings, Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher, Black-hooded Oriole, White-rumped Shama and many other birds as well as Asiatic Water Buffa-loes and the Rhinos. There are plenty of butterflies also in this part of the park . ACCOMODATION: The Diphlu River Lodge

Day 19 Kaziranga National Park – Guwahati (237 Kms /4 hrs drive) After a leisurely breakfast we leave for the airport either in Guwahati to board a flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi we will check into a hotel. The whole day is at leisure and you can explore the markets of New and Old Delhi. ACCOMODATION: The Oberoi /The Imperial Day 20 Fly out Today you will be transferred to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after breakfast to board you international flight for home.
