Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils It was great to be joined by Derek Winterburn from St James's church for our Harvest Assembly this week, with the children singing two lovely songs, led by Ms Humphries (our new Music Lead). Thank you for all the harvest donations - they will be distributed through St James's church to the Upper Room Charity. I hope Y3 parents found this week's presentation to be informative, highlighting routines and expectations (a link has also been sent out). We now look forward to next week's parent consultation meetings, a great chance to see how the children are settling into their new classes and year groups. Today in assembly we will highlight International Day of the Girl and World Space Week - Women in Space. Tomorrow we have our World Mental Health Day and an author visit to enjoy. It has been great to welcome parent reading volunteers back into the school - thank you for your support, thank you also to all our Y3 parent sewing helpers this week - you made such a difference. We are also enjoying the support of Hampton School and LEH pupils at lunchtimes - a very beneficial link. Best Wishes Alan Went

Each year in England, school children in Reception and Y6 have their height and weight checked at school as part of the National Child Measurement Programme. Height and weight measure-ments are used to calculate weight status. We collect this information because it is in the public inter-est to understand how many children are overweight, healthy weight or underweight. Your school will take part in this year's programme. School Health Services will be using a new electronic way of communicating with parents and carers through a secure web-based portal. Parents and carers of children in Y6 are being asked to register on the portal to receive information and register on the 2021-2022 NCMP (National Child Measurement Programme) and to opt out should you wish to, using the following link:
https://app.schoolscreener.com/Portal/#/36378/p/WH82/102886
It's a really quick process and all you need is an email address which you have access to. Once regis-tered you can login and add your child/ren's details. Once the measurement has taken place you will be able to log back into the portal to view your child's result letter after 4-6 weeks. The parent portal is GDPR compliant, so both parent and child's personal data is safer too. Sign up today.
