WORLD VETERINARY DAY 2018
Dr. Chen Hui Cheng is a lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After completing her DVM and MVM training in UPM, she completed her residency
in veterinary anaesthesiology at the Ontario Veterinary College, Canada. For the past decade,
Dr. Chen has been teaching and working mainly in the area of anaesthesia and analgesia. Whilst her research and extension work involve diverse species of animals, Dr. Chen develops special interest in cats and dogs. She has presented and published numerous papers related to analgesics and pain management in small animals. She is currently the Head of Department of Companion Animal Medicine & Surgery at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Dr. Chan Kok Kiong received his DVM from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2000. He is a small animal medicine practitioner since he graduated from UPM. In 2008, he completed his diplomas in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Tuinalogy from local TCM Research Center. He is a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner from Federation of Chinese Physician and Acupuncturist Association of Malaysia (FCPAAM) (Badan Pengamal Perubatan Traditional/Komplementari (T/CM) Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia). He incorporated Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM into his practice of small animal medicine. Over the years, he has been attended and received training in TCVM from China, Hong Kong and Australia. He also lectures in local TCM Research Center. In May 2015, he completed his Master of Art in Buddhist Study from International Buddhist College, Thailand through ELearning. In recent years, he presented papers on Veterinary Acupuncture and TCVM in MSAVA (Malaysian Small Animal Veterinary Association) National Scientific Congress. In 2015, he joint Tama Acupuncture Academy and lecture in Chinese Tuina (Massage). In FASAVA 2016, he presented a poster on successful TCVM treatment in a dog paralysis caused by spondylosis. In August 2016, he presented paper at World Association of Traditional

Chinese Veterinary Medicine Conference in Beijing, China. In June 2017, he completed his PhD from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, China. His major interest is in integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern medicine.
