As thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire! Revelations Sermon Series - Revelation was written to be a letter for encour-agement to an oppressed, depressed people trying hard to hang onto their faith. While we have lost the “code” to decode much of the symbolism, we know enough to understand the big truths that are the source of encouragement for people today. For the next two Sundays in Traditions and the Bridge we will explore the encouraging truth of Revelation. Summer Study Offered: Join the Covenant Class (3rd Floor) for a study of people who have been influential in the movement of religion in the world. No preparation is needed to participate and you can drop in and out as your sum-mer travel schedule allows. Join us this Sunday as Dena Prince will teach about Constantine and Athanasius. If your class isn't regularly meeting in the summer or if you are looking for a class, please join us! Souled Out: Superstart 2015: Mark your calendars for Superstart July 31 - August 2! Super Start is for rising 4th graders through rising 6th graders. It's a fun way to welcome in the new 4th graders and say good-bye to the 6th graders. Detailed schedule and sign-up information will be sent via email. Be sure that Leslie has your current email address. Contact her at [email protected]. Sunday School Teachers Needed: Would you like to teach Sunday School to the children of our church? It is a fun and rewarding experience. Celebration Circle Dutch Treat Social: Wednesday August 5th at 6:00 p.m. New Orleans Steak & Seafood Restaurant, 824 McFarland Blvd Northport. Giving to the Church – Real Estate. Transferring the title of a piece of real estate to the church is a strategy to help you avoid capital gains taxes and pro-vide financial support to the budget for programs of the church. As you con-sider your personal financial plan for this year and beyond, remember FUMCT. Your gift of land or a house could be the catalyst to start a local mis-sion project at the new YMCA or build a Habitat house. If you are interested, talk to your financial advisor and to Gina Johnson in the church office. Nursing Home Volunteers Needed: Do you enjoy spending quality time with people? Are you someone who can brighten a person's day? We need you! We are in need of nursing home volunteers. These volunteers visit a specific individual or two once a month. Join this special ministry today by contact-ing Susan Kizziah at [email protected] or call 205.345.7261.
