WHAT’S GOING ON THIS WEEK?This week we started working with our
math curriculum. Our first unit focuses onfluency and computation. We are learningdifferent strategies to help us with ourmultiplication and division facts. Look for dailymath homework coming home each day.
We also started our first IB Planner, titled The Human Machine . We started off bytracing our bodies and drawing all we knewabout different systems of the body. We thenfocused our inquiry on cells and even got tobuild our own cell models out of food. We alsolooked at the differences between plant andanimal cells.
We also started spelling this week. Each Monday, we will do a pre-test so thatstudents know which words they need tostudy. We will also be spending 15-20 minuteseach day throughout the week working on ourspelling words in some way.
We are still working together everyday to establish a positive community in ourclassroom. Have a great week!
