Some footpaths are becoming like footpath motorways – so many people use them. Then they erode into gullies, which then turn into
streams.
If she left the gate open, sheep could escape
And people leave so much litter behind them! Special collections of rubbish have to be made.
Add some arrows and comments to your “user groups spider diagram”, to show how walkers and picnicers can cause problems
on the Quantock Hills
So how can we make this better? And keep the Quantocks special?
What do you think? Can you think of some solutions?
When you’re ready, click onto the next slide to see what the Quantock Hills Rangers have done so far
So how can we make this better? And keep the Quantocks special?
Picnic sites and litter bins are provided so that litter isn't left all over the hills
People are asked to keep their dogs under control
If people are careful about all of these things, everyone can use the hills happily
Signs ask people to shut the gate.
The Rangers put signposts up to show people which are the best footpaths to use
