CASTian BAPTISTE SORNIN gwen SELMA ALAOUI md PETER SNOWDON

BAPTISTE SORNIN lives in Brussels where he studied at l’INSAS. Since 2004, as a professional actorhe has worked with many well-known directors in both the theatre (A. Roussel, T. Ostermeier,

J. Dandoy, A. Vassiliev, J-M Rabeux) and the cinema (‘Le Silence de Lorna’ - Luc et Jean-Pierre Dardenne,‘Vampires’ - Vincent Lannoo, ‘Les Ambitieux’ - Catherine Corsini). Most recently, he appeared in ‘Le Gamin au vélo’

by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne, in which he plays the role of Jérôme.

After graduating in literature from Lille university, SELMA ALAOUI went on to study at l’INSAS.She now lives and works in Brussels, where she has acted for the stage with directors

such as Nicolas Luçon, Anne-Cécile Vandalem and Armel Roussel. As a director, her productions include‘Anticlimax’ by Werner Schab (Prix de la Meilleure Découverte 2007 ; prix Emulation 2008) and

‘I Would Prefer Not To’ which premiered in February 2011 at the Théatre les Tanneurs.

BRUNO TRACQBRUNO TRACQ was born in France in 1983. He studied cinema first in Montpellier, before moving to Brussels

where he graduated from l’INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle).He now works as editor, producer and director, dividing his time between France and Belgium. He has worked as editor

on many films : documentaries, short fictions and features, in particular with director Jaco Van Dormael(“Eole”, “Mr Nobody”), as well as with contemporary artists (Gilbert Fastenakens - BE, Vladimir Cruells - FR,

Manuela Ribadeneira - UK). He has made a number of films, including an analysis in film of the worksof Michael Haneke. Walking Ghost Phase is his first fiction project.

From 2007 to 2011 he was president of the Atelier Jeunes Cinéastes (AJC! - Brussels), a state-funded production workshop. He is currently a member of the commission which selects films to receive state funding in Belgium.

Since 2009, he has been teaching at the contemporary art school Ecole de Recherche Graphique (ERG - Brussels).

MATYAS VERESS has been working as an editor since the early 1990s. He has edited many feature and documentary films in France, USA, and Belgium, including ‘Mr Nobody’ by Jaco Van Dormael

(Venice IFF 2010), ‘Trouble’ by Harry Cleven and ‘Vendredi ou un autre jour’ by Yvan Le Moine.

FREDERIC FICHEFET is a renowned sound editor. He has worked with Jacques Doillon(‘Le mariage à trois’), Caroline Strubbe (‘Lost Persons Area’ - Cannes IFF 2010),

Claire Simon (Les Bureaux de Dieux), and Christophe Honoré (‘Ma mère’).

OLIVIER TOUCHE is a young sound engineer and editor based in Paris. His work can be heardin recent movies by Jean-Marc Barr (‘Chroniques sexuelles’, ‘Traduit de l’américain’)

and Samuel Benchetrit (‘Chez Gino’).

COLIN LEVEQUE is a director of photography based in Paris and Brussels. He has lit many shortsand feature films, including ‘Combat’ by Patrick Carpentier (Teddy Award at Berlin IFF 2006).

MICHIGAN FILMS

Created in 2006 in Brussels and owned by Olivier Burlet, Sébastien Andres, Bruno Tracq and Frédéric Noirhomme, MICHIGAN FILMS hosts young authors prompted by a strong desire for independant cinema.

It is rather a tool than a business. Being so, it is each day redefined by thosewho actually built the project, for the purpose of bringing up to light powerful works.
