To go from a position of being open as usual on Monday, closed to all on Tuesday, open to Nursery on Wednesday and launching our critical worker provision and remote learning from Thursday – we think the expression ‘rollercoaster of a week’ is perfect to describe last week! We hope those families where children are at home are adapting well, rest assured we are working hard to rectify any teething issues with technology and access. If you have not read our update letter this week please read it here. While we cannot know for certain what will happen after the February half term, we think it is worth saying please consider this period as a marathon, not a sprint, and pace yourself with home learning and expectations of yourself and your child – the most important thing is to look after your own and your family’s well-being above everything. Please get in touch if you need any support, particularly as the weeks go by during this lockdown period. Have a lovely weekend! Golden Ticket

Well done to the children who won a golden ticket this week for their efforts and achievements (see below)! Keep up the great work everyone and we look forward to finding out who will be our golden ticket winners next week!

    Owl Class

    Kingfisher Class

    Badger Class

    Bumblebee Class

    Butterfly Class

    Hedgehog Class

A huge well done to Millie this week for her fantastic piece of writing about ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’. Millie remembered to use capital letters, full stops and even extended her sentences using ‘and’, ‘but’ and ‘so’.

Keep up your hard work, Millie!

A huge well done to Hugh this week for using his sounds to

describe his own magic wellies. Hugh even told

me that his magic wellies would go to the park. Keep up the great

    work!

Well done Chester for all of your amazing learning that

you have been doing! Chester looked at

comparing different groups of objects using our key

words of ‘more’ and ‘fewer’. Keep up all of your

    hard work!

Josh, I was so impressed with your character description. You used commas in a list to tell me about the snail’s personality and

    used lots of wonderful adjectives.

Heidi, I’m so impressed with your SPAG work! It’s great to

see you have spent time spelling your ‘il’ & ‘al’ words. Then continuing to use those words in sentences – really great practise. Well done!

Well done to Jordan for creating this fire rescue

plane using recycled materials! He used his glue gun to attach all

the parts and even installed a water tank!

Your Design & Technology skills are

    amazing!

Pupil Parliament Before the children broke up for Christmas we had a Pupil Parliament

meeting to discuss the ways in which we show respect for our school

resources inside and outside of the classroom. Most of the children

felt that we did respect our school property, for example, we have a

food bin for our fruit waste and the children always check the book

band colours to ensure that they go back into the correct place. We

also discussed what we could do to make sure we respect our school

resources more. The children suggested that we could make sure

that all of the playground equipment is tidied up after playtime and

lunchtime. They also said that they could pick up coats and hang

them back up if they notice that they have fallen onto the cloakroom

    floor.

    Woodland Trust’s

    Green Tree School Award!

During our ‘Into the Woods’ topic, we achieved our Bronze award for the Woodland Trust’s Green Tree award. We completed a variety of activities, such as creating woodland themed art, planting new seeds and taking part in a Woodland trust

assembly to achieve this certificate. We can’t wait to reach silver!

Drawing a picture of where we think the Little Raindrop might go on its next adventure.

Making our own rainy pictures using sponges.

    Home Learning Ideas

To listen to our story please follow the link https://watch.vooks.com/videos/little-rain-drop

Can you describe the weather each day? Maybe you could make some

    weather symbols to match.

In Little Stars we will be….

Making our own rainbows using collage material.

    Learning our friend’s names.

Practising our cutting skills using cutting sheets and cutting different materials.

Hello.. We have had a fantastic first week or so back in Nursery and have loved seeing all our nursery

children’s smiling faces each session! We would also like to welcome our Spring intake of Little Stars who are settling in very well! Next week we are focusing on weather and the story ‘The Little

Raindrop.’ We are missing some of our nursery children who are not with us at the moment and we hope to see you all very soon. If your child is not in nursery you could have a go at some of our Nursery activities

with your child at home. You could also try our home learning ideas at the bottom of this page to support your child’s learning during this time. We would love to see any of your child’s learning

activities on Tapestry. Rest assured a member of the team will respond to your entry but please note this may not be as quick as during our whole Nursery closure as all of our team are working fulltime

in the Nursery setting! Best wishes, Miss Barron & Mrs Dave

    Look at

    our

    fantastic
