There is a lot of work that goes into
bringing you netball Wednesday, Friday
and Saturday. Apart from the committee
who give up a huge amount of their time
there are some great volunteers who step
in when help is needed. We couldn't do it
without your help.
Thanks to the people who help put up and
take down the goal post pads every week.
Also to the people who adjust the goal
rings for Net Set Go. It is a big help and
much appreciated.
Also thank you to the helpers in the can-
teen who help the ladies keep it running
smoothly.
Also to the umpires who step in when
umpires ring late to say they can’t umpire.
We thank you for helping get the games
run on time.
So if you see something you know needs
doing please help and maybe let the
people who always do it have the week
off.
Jackie Seymour—Editor
As we approach the halfway mark of the
season teams are starting to settle into
their sections and are improving every
week.
It is great to see so many supporters
coming down to the courts to watch and
encourage their teams. We welcome the
decision to provide more car parking as
our numbers are growing and it is very
difficult to get a park. Not only for
netball for but football, YMCA members,
tennis and all the sporting facilities at the
Bar Reserve.
A visit from Cathy McGowan a couple of
weeks ago was a good chance for
families to have a voice. We look
forward to welcoming Cathy again during
the season. As we are working on grants
for new courts we would love to have her
support.
We have been offering free coaching
clinics run by local coaches this season.
This is open to all coaches, players and
umpires. They are being held monthly
with the first one held in May coached by
Mandy Martin.
The second clinic was held Tuesday 3rd
June coached by Robyn Smith. As you
can above it was well supported.
There will be another clinic running
during the season. Each session works
on different areas of the game. This is
an initiative to help strengthen coaching
and skills in our association.
Our Rep girls head to Albury for their
final tournament at Regionals on the
14th June. We wish them all good luck
and hope they enjoy the experience.
Another reminder to supporters to be
respectful of our umpires. They are
giving up their time and they don’t gain
confidence if they are being targeted. If
you have any queries or concerns please
come up and ask at the window and a
committee member can help you. Most
importantly is for teams to enjoy
playing without the pressure from
supporters to win.
We have umpire sessions held at the
netball courts for those who would like
to take up umpiring.
Robyn Smith free coaching clinic supported by around 80 enthusiastic players.
Session was on attacking and footwork skills.

Wednesday Night
Competition Semi Finals started this
week. Good luck to all the
teams in finals. Thanks to all
the teams who competed this season.
Our Registration Night for our next competition is
Wednesday July 15th. Our next season commences
Wednesday August 5th.
Could all teams make sure they have all players money
together with the team registration sheet. If all the
information is together it doesn't hold up the other
teams waiting to register. We do not take individual
payments, they must all be with the team sheet.
Congratulations to the teams through to the Grand Final
next week.

Albury Tournament—9th May 2015.
The Albury Tournament was a very wet
and trying day for all players, parents
and coaches. I would personally like to
thank our umpires for enduring the wild weather to en-
able us to participate. Out 17/Under side coura-
geously got to the Grand Final however were beaten by
11 goals to our rivals Albury. The girls played hard com-
petitive netball all day in very wild wet weather. All other
age groups finished in the Top 4 in their sections
however did not make finals. All teams will compete in
the Echuca tournament. This tournament is the last
tournament for our development squads in the 13’s and
15’s. After the Echuca Tournament the A and B sides
will be training hard before we attend the Zone Champi-
onships in Albury on the 14th June.
Net Set Go Tier 1 & 2
5—7 YEAR OLDS (Friday nights
4.30—5.30pm)
Only a couple of rounds to go. Look-
ing around, there is so much improve-
ment in the children’s skills.
It also looks terrific to see the children in their new tops.
8-10 YEAR OLDS (Saturday mornings
11.00—11.50am) On the weekend of the 23rd May we had the netballers from
Wang Maggies join us to assist teams with warm ups and um-
piring. This was greatly appreciated by the teams involved.
All participants have received their packs, big thanks to Wendy
for coordinating these.
Coaches are all starting to see a big improvement in the players
skills and there is a positive vibe around the courts.
Big thanks to the weather for being kind to us thus far!

Committee Profile
Cheryl Peters—Representative Netball
Co-ordinator,
Started with WNA 2010. Positions held: Net set go Coordinator/ Rep Coordinator/ Coach/Umpire/Player.
What made you join: I have loved netball all my life so when I saw the opportunity to give something back I jumped at the chance. I love see-
ing the kids out their playing and all the atmosphere the sup-porters create. I love watching the little net set go kids play they are so keen and also the future of netball What would you like to see for WNA: I would love to see WNA stay a strong association and also be around when our courts and clubrooms are upgraded Any funny stories: I can remember 1 Saturday morning when we lost power and had no siren. We grabbed pots and pans and started banging them around the courts to try and stop the game instead of the siren it was a classic the kids kept playing and the only reaction we got was them looking at us like we were from Mars. What are some great achievements you have seen in your time at WNA: Since joining WNA I have seen the introduction of our 5/7 year olds Net Set Go programme and last year saw our first ever Under 11 rep teams. Our committee has grown with some great people coming on board. What do you enjoy about being on the committee: I am proud to be a part of WNA it is fun and we get to mix with a lot of the community. If anyone out there would like to get involved we would welcome you. Its a great committee who have a lot fun and work together to ensures our competitions run well.
