Act – The overarching legislation under which other legislation is based. Passed through Parliament
Regulations – Detailed requirements for the operations conducted under the Act
Directions – Specific requirements issued by government on titleholders
Guidelines – This is information provided to titleholders to assist them in complying with the Act, Regulations and Directions
Value of petroleum data
Data is required to be submitted to satisfy the government that titles are being actively explored –Stewardship
Data is a resource which increases the prospectivityof the nation and attracts investment – Promotion
Freely available data allows companies to conduct “quick-look” analyses rapidly to evaluate a bid area - Promotion
Industry’s obligation with regards to petroleum data

Accessing Online Data Submission Forms from PGR
Requirements
• DMP account (User Name and Password)• Title name (e.g. EP 200, TL 25)• Approved activity under specified titles (wells, surveys)
The system will require the following 8 steps to complete a data submission:
Step 1: Lodging PartyStep 2: Well (Activity) DetailsStep 3: Report/Data/sample – option to choose from a drop down menu the type of data submitted (WCR, sample, wireline logs, etc)Step 4: Other information – ability to enter any other information that the lodging party wants to submit in relation to this data submissionStep 5: Summary of Media – list of data type submission, type of media and number of items (assets or attachments) submitted.Step 6: Acknowledgements Step 7: Review – ability to correct any issues with the data submittedStep 8: Submit – the addresses where the data should be submitted
