A public lecture on maritime Archaeology and History

Interplay between technology, geography and strategy contributes to making ancient naval warfare an intriguing subject. This lecture covers these and other aspects including some famous campaigns and sieges in which sea power was key. Traditional sources, as well as a look at the results of recent archaeological surveys, will shed light on new discoveries and possible future research.
