isolated from his community.C: Duffy uses a simile to describe the war photographer as he develops photographs in his dark room.
Q: “as though this were a church and he a priest”E: A priest is often seen to be an isolated figure in society, as priests are not allowed to marry or have children, and are expected to live by higher moral standards than most people. By associating the photographer with a priest, Duffy suggests that that the war photographer is also isolated from people in his community.
