Message from Mike Hartnell, Headteacher

So we have reached the Easter break, with exam season looming around the corner. If your child is in Year 11, they have been sent home with a booklet guiding them on the revision required each day for each subject. Each topic is about 20 minutes worth of work and will help them structure their day. Having seen some of the unbelievable work produced in Art and Photography this week, Year 11 certainly look like they mean business!

The ski trip leaves later today and it looks like there is plenty of snow at the resort in Austria, so I hope they all have a great time and come back with no injuries!

We say goodbye to Mr Whiffin today, who begins his new post at Felpham Community College after Easter. He has been a real asset to Warblington during his time here, always working to improve the lives of the young people in the school. I would like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him all the best in his future career. I have been overwhelmed with the response the advert for his position has attracted and we look forward to making a new appointment onto the senior team for September.

Hot chocolate with head took place at SAGE time and it was great to hear how well the students are achieving, how much they enjoy school and how they might change things! They were particularly keen to reinvigorate the student council and we’re keen to hear about how we are planning to reduce the amount of low level disruption in lessons in the near future.

Finally, please remember the trousers and skirts are changing from September, so please be aware of this if you are purchasing any uniform between now and then.

Brilliant French Work!

This term Year 10 have made tourist leaflets for Portsmouth in French. They were very creative and wrote a fan-

tastic description of their city. Well done! Below are two examples of these brilliant leaflets from Daniel Smith

10C (green leaflet) and Sophie Bray 10D (yellow leaflet).

More Brilliant French Work!

The incredible piece of writing below was written by Hayley Snook 7D. The task was to create drawings inspired by the surrealist painter Joan Miro and write a small description of it in French. Miss Ibrahima, MFL

Do you ride a bike to school?

If your son/daughter rides a bike to school please make sure

that they have a secure lock, for example a D shaped lock, to

lock their bike up within the bike shed. The bike shed is

locked during school hours however students bikes should

also be locked within the bike shed for extra security as

outside of school hours they will be open so students can

access their bikes.
