H.W. Answers to 1.2 E#10 and 11E#10. a. One way to complete the simulation is to put all theages on cards and randomly select four and calculate theaverage. The simulation can be performed a number of timesand that data could be plotted on a dotplot. The othermethod is to assign each of the ages a number and then use arandom number generator to select 4. Once the 4 areselected, find the average age represented by the fournumbers. Then a dotplot could be used to represent theresults.b. The average age from the simulation will vary.c. According to the dotplot it appears only 3 of the 200simulations produced an average as high as 57.5. This would be1.5%, which is less than the 2.5%, and can qualify as discriminationin a court case.
