February 9, 2018 Hello Warren, I wanted to take some time to let everyone know that, starting next week, we will be embarking on an exploration of what it means to be responsible. We spent the last two months focused on empathy, and moving forward, our students and teachers will be focused on what it means to be responsible. Students will be able to earn stickers when they are caught being responsible, so if you see your student come home with a sticker that says "Ask me what I did that was responsible today?", please ask them! The more students hear and talk about what they have done that is responsible, the greater their understanding will be of its meaning. We often times forget that kids don't have a firm understanding of things like responsibility and respect. These are abstract topics. The more we can cite, show, verbalize, and model examples of these important and abstract character traits, the more likely our kids will understand and emulate them for themselves. The old but still true saying that it takes a village to raise a kid is something I firmly believe to be true. So I invite everyone to embark on this exploration with our kids at home as well! As always, it is a pleasure working here at Warren. You guys are awesome and I wish you well. Until next time!
