WARSAW UPRISING
The Warsaw Uprising (1 August - 3 October 1944) – the appearance of armed against German troops occupy Warsaw, organized by the Army as part of the "Storm", combined with disclosure and official activities of the highest structures of the Polish Underground State.
BEGINNING OFOn 29 July the Warsaw appealed by radio Moscow
Union of Polish Patriots, calling the people of Warsaw to the uprising against the Germans. Messages, constituting a repetition of this program, also gave four of 30 July 1944 (in hours: 15.00, 20.55, 21.55, and 23.00), the Moscow radio station them. In the face of the Red Army approached Warsaw and its environment, its success on the front and a positive estimate of its potential for further offensive, it was decided to start the uprising. In view of the beneficial situation on the front, Polish commanders predicted that the rise should last only a few days, and in fact his fighting lasted 63 days.

Aftermath of the Warsaw Uprising
The lack of the Warsaw Uprising and next Capitulation contract left Warsaw almost uninhabited. The city was almost totally destroyed with no major monuments left standing. This, however, was not the end. The Home Army was in disarray and unprepared to deal with the Soviet NKVD which then took control of Poland and sent many of the former insurgents to their deaths in Siberian gulags.
