Useful tips Never use your washer-

dryer to wash... torn, fraying ornon-hemmed linen. If it isabsolutely neccessary, place it ina bag for protection. Do not washcoloured linen with whites.

Watch the weight! For best results, do not exceedthe weight limits stated below(figures show weight of drygarments):

- Resistant fabrics:5,5 kg maximum

- Synthetic fabrics:2.5 kg maximum

- Delicate fabrics:2 kg maximum

- Pure new wool:1 kg maximum

How to wash almost anything Curtains.

Curtains tend to crease a greatdeal. A useful tip to reducecreasing: fold the curtains andplace them in a pillow case ormesh bag. Do not load anythingelse inside the appliance, thiswill ensure that the overallweight does not exceed the halfload. Remember to use thespecific programme 10 whichautomatically excludes the spincycle.

Trainers.Once you have removed mudand dirt from trainers, you caneven wash them with jeans orany other tough garments. Donot wash trainers with whites.

Quilted coats and anorak. You can wash quilted coats andwind-cheaters, too, if they arepadded with goose or duckdown. Do not load more than2-3 kg and never load 5,5 kg.Repeat rinse once or twiceusing the gentle spin.

How much does it weigh?1 sheet 400-500 gr.1 pillow case 150-200 gr.1 tablecloth 400-500 gr.1 bathrobe 900-1,200 gr.1 towel 150-250 gr.

Coloured T-shirts , printedones and shirts last longer if turnedinside out before washing.Printed T-shirts and sweatshirtsshould always be ironed inside out.

Dungaree alert.Very popular “salopette” typeoveralls have straps with hooksthat can damage the drum of yourwasher-dryer or other garmentsduring the wash. To minimise therisk, place hooks in the pocketand fasten with safety pins.

Holidays: unplug theappliance. It is recommended that youshould unplug the machine fromthe socket and turn off the watersupply. Leave the door ajar toallow air circulation to the drawand the door gasket area. This willprevent unpleasant odours.

WOOL CYCLE

You must follow the dosagerecommendations provided bythe manufacturers when addingdetergent or fabric conditioner.Doses will vary according to thewash load, the water hardnessand how soiled the washing is.Experience will help you selectthe right dosage almostautomatically: it will become yoursecret. Before adding detergent for pre-washing in compartment 1,make sure that the extracompartment for bleach 4 hasnot been inserted.Ensure no overfilling whenadding fabric conditioner incompartment 3.The washer-dryer automaticallyadds the softener to the wash ineach programme.Liquid detergent is poured intocompartment 2 just a fewseconds before starting thewash cycle.

In compartment 1:Detergent for pre-washing (powder)

In compartment 2:Detergent for washing(powder or liquid)

In compartment 3:Additives (softeners, perfumes, etc.)

In compartment 4:Bleach and delicate bleach.

Useful tips about the detergent dispenserIt’s important for a good wash

The first secret is the easiest: the detergent dispenser isopened by pull it outwards.

Remember that liquid detergentis only designed for washcycles of up to 60 degrees onnon pre-wash items.Special containers are sold withliquid or powder detergents forplacing inside the washer-dryerdrum, these are positionedaccording to the instructionsfound in the detergent boxNever use hand washdetergent, because it may formtoo much foam, which coulddamage the washer-dryer.Detergents that are specificallyformulated for both hand andmachine wash are anexception. One last secret: when washingwith cold water, always reducethe amount of detergent you use:it dissolves less easily in coldwater than in hot water, so partof it would be wasted.

Cutting costs efficiently A guide to environmentallyfriendly and economic useof your appliance.

MAXIMISE THE LOAD SIZEAchieve the best use of energy, water, detergent and time by using the recommendedmaximum load size.SAVE up to 50% energy by washing a full load instead of 2 half loads.

DO YOU NEED TO PRE-WASH?For heavily soiled laundry only!SAVE detergent, time, water and between 5 to 15% energy consumption by NOTselecting Prewash for slight to normally soiled laundry.

IS A HOT WASH REQUIRED?Pretreat stains with stain remover or soak dried in stains in water before washing toreduce the necessity of a hot wash programme.SAVE up to 50% energy by using a 60°C wash programme.

BEFORE USING A DRYING PROGRAMME ...SAVE energy and time by selecting the highest suitable spin speed to reduce the watercontent in laundry before using a drying programme.

The detergent dispenser can beremoved and cleaned: pull it outwards,as indicated in the figure. Then leave itunder running water for a few minutes.

Instructions for installation and use 8

Bleach cycle and stain removalbuttonIf bleaching is necessary, theextra case 4 (provided) must beinserted into compartment 1 ofthe detergent dispenser. When pouring in the bleach, becareful not to exceed the "max"level indicated on the centralpivot (see illustration). The use of the additional bleachcontainer excludes thepossibility of using the pre-washcycle. Traditional bleach canonly be used on sturdy whitefabrics, whereas delicatebleach can be used forcoloured fabrics, syntheticsand for wool.

You cannot bleach with the“Silk” programme and with the“special programmes” (seepage 4).Use the stain removal buttonevery time you want to bleach.Should you want to do itseparately you must pour thebleach into the additionalcontainer 4, press button G(stain removal), star t thewasher-dryer, then select one ofthe symbols according tothe type of fabric. When you bleach during anormal wash cycle , pour thedetergent and any additives inthe special compartments, press button G (stain removal),set the programme you desireand turn the washer-dryer on.

Easy Care and Maintenance

Your washer-dryer is a reliable companion in life and on the job. It is just as important for you to keep it inshape.

Your washer-dryer is designedto provide reliable service overmany years. A few simple stepswill help to prolong its life andavoid problems. It is advisable,to turn off water taps when themachine is not to be used, thisprotects the hoses, etc.If the water in your area is toohard, use a deliming product(water is hard if it often leaveswhitish stains around taps ordrains, especially of bath tubs. For more accurate information asto the type of water in yoursystem, call the local waterworks or a local plumber).Pockets must always beemptied removing even pins, badges and any other hardobject. The washer-dryer exteriorshould be cleaned with a ragdipped in lukewarm water andsoap.

Never exaggerate with doses.Normal detergents alreadycontain deliming agents. Only ifthe water is particularly hard, that is, rich in lime content, dowe recommend the use of aspecific product at every wash.A periodical wash cycle with adose of a deliming product, without detergents or washing, may prove useful.Never use too much detergentor additives because this couldcause an excess amount offoam, scaling and possibledamage to the component partsof your washer-dryer.

When in need, check the pump and the rubber hose. The washer-dryer comes equipped with a self-cleaning pump that does not require any cleaning or maintenance.

The water inlet hoseCheck the rubber hose at least once a year. If you see any cracks, replace it immediately. When you use your washer-dryer,water pressure is very strong and a cracked tube could easily split open.

It is important to washthe detergent dispenser

regularly.To prevent dried washing

powder fromaccumulating, place thedispenser under runningwater for a few minutes.

Do not forget to empty all pockets: small objects cancause damage to your washer-dryer.
