Creatingwithpaper Written by Geert With paper you can do many things. You can, for example, create models of buildings. Also you can make model garments. From paper much can be made as works of art.

you can see a model with a paper dress.

Canglassberecycled?Yes, glass is one one of the most easy to recycle materials. It is 100% recyclable. We recycle

around 29% of glass collected from bottle banks around the country. The average glass

bottle contains at least 25% recycled glass, with some green bottles containing up to 90%.

Subquestion 2: Why should we recycle glass? 1. Melting anything in a furnace uses energy

and affects the environment. Making glass by melting recycled glass in the furnace uses far

less energy and reduces pollution

Where can we recycle? Bottles are the easiest type of glass to recycle. There should be a bottle bank somewhere near to where you live. Every council also organise collections for glass bottles and jar

How is glass recycled? Glass is collected from the bottle banks and each colour is kept separate. Clear, brown, green and blue glass can all be recycled. Blue glass should be placed in the green bottle bank.

Earthschip Zwolle. The Earthship is the epitome of sustainable building. Initiator SWZ is in honor of their 100th anniversary along with many volunteers and Landstede the Earthship built up from scratch. Eco architect Michael Reynolds made in its design and maximum use of natural materials. Over 1000 tires, 6000 and 7000 cans bottles are the building blocks for this particular climate-neutral building.

Household waste in Holland Made by: Joyce from green bin to compost

waste in the Netherlands is neatly sorted home you have three large bins. a blue bin for paper, for example, a green vegetable waste bin and a gray bin for other things. Every week a large truck that picks up the garbage, which brings it to the landfill. Then it is brought there to a conveyor belt. Then it goes into a container where it is to grind. it is therefore a bit sorted. Then the big things in it are removed, the rest is thrown in a heap. There it is again picked up by a machine and sieved again until the very small type of gravel is.

here led to waste after it is picked up at your home

Koolstofdioxide (co2) door Larissa & Rachelle & Michelle 3D Carbon dioxide (chemical formula, Co2) is a colorless and odorless gas that occurs naturally prevents out of the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide solved in water makes carbonic, which is widely used in carbonated beverage. The addition of carbon dioxide under pressure to the beverages to "puncture", is called carbonation. In beer is also carbonation, that’s because of the fermentation of malt. It also occurs naturally in mineral water. Carbonic is also in some of the fire extinguishers used to fight fires, particularly if water would be dangerous to use as extinguishers, because the chemical reactions, electrical conductivity or cause great damage, as in paper archives.

Carbon dioxide has been discovered in the beginning of the 17 century by the Flemish scientist Jan Baptista van Helmont, who called is ‘sylvestergas’. He noted that after burning charcoal in a closed bowl, the residual mass was smaller than the original mass. His conclusion was that the difference turned into a "wild spirit" (spirits sylvestre) or gas.

Paper Recycling Paper recycling has become more popular since the fifties in the Netherlands. Paper can be recycled

very well. Formerly wood was the main raw material for paper, but nowadays the main raw material

is waste paper. In the Netherlands, municipalities are responsible for the collection of paper and

cardboard from households but not for the collection of paper and cardboard from businesses,

offices and institutions. They have their own arrangements. Roele De Vries is a company of the

collection of paper and paper recycling, it is a well known company. The collection of paper and

cardboard for Roele De Vries a streamlined process. They provide a paper container that suits your

business and your paper waste.

Waste processing

Kaylin& Laura 3D

Residual waste.

Residual waste is waste that is produced daily by households. Examples are: glass, paper, tares and other stuff.

How you process waste?

A first step is milling of the waste. Then it is placed on a conveyor belt, where a strong magnet over them. This magnet removes all iron from the waste for processing. Then, with a jet of air blown out all of the light plastic, this can also be

collected separately.

Deposit For the filling all the waste to a landfill charged. This was once a meadow or more often, but today there are special measures to ensure that no substances in the groundwater may come. It sounds dirty over the years. If a landfill is full, there is often a layer of earth and placed in a park or golf

course built.

Burning The waste is first few weeks to dry, after which it is incinerated in a waste incineration plant. There

are flue gas, ash and slag to Fri Air is brought below the waste is ignited and, as much as possible so that the burned. The remaining gases are, just as the axis, filtered. The gases are brought out

through a chimney. The shaft and the slag to be packaged, and still deposited

Multiple choice questions

1. In what order you process waste?

A. Burning-Deposit-Milling B. Milling-Deposit-Burning C. Deposit-Milling-Burning

2. What is burning?

A. Waste depose in the fire. B. Dumping waste. C. Throw it away.

Nuclear Waste

Nuclear power plants are important sources of radioactive waste. Spent fuel, possibly after reprocessing, contains large amounts of radioactive uranium, plutonium, cesium and a host of other

isotopes for which no applications. The dismantling of a nuclear power plant, large quantities of building materials, pipelines etc., not that highly radioactive. At this moment there is no good

workaround for the problem of waste. So bring processing and storage of radioactive waste problems with it. In the past it has been dumped waste, but because international rules should be no more. Now, waste is often reprocessed to maximize the useful substances out of it. Thereafter, the waste is temporarily stored until a permanent storage. The waste in such a way that the processing and handling is not harmful more, with the current state of the art it is not possible. The waste may be of very different nature. Solids such

spent fuel rods, filters, tools, and clothing contaminated soil, but also fluids such as cooling water or solvent containing radioactive material. In principle, any form of radioactive waste that is contaminated, attributed

to radioactive waste.

Multiple choice questions

1. Are nuclear waste dangerous? A. Yes. B. No.

C. Maybe.

2. Where will nuclear waste stored in? A. In tons. B. In bags.

C. In the water.
