DESCRIPTION
Wastewater has a significant excess and variability of pollution and may cause serious consequences for the sanitation system operation, for both the sewage and collectors installations, as well as for the wastewater treatment plant. Periodic inspections do not answer required preventive control challenges. Adasa has helped Terrassa City Council to better: • Assess wastewater pollution loads at different strategic points of the sanitation network, thanks to the real time monitoring of the physical and chemical parameters (pH, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, redox potential, turbidity, organic matter), hydrocarbon, DBO and ammonium concentrations. • Ensure an automatic collection of wastewater samples as soon as a pollution episode is detected, in order to inquire its origin. • Enable real time decisions-making related to WWTP operation, avoiding potential technical and economic damages of the sewage system and the environment. • Spot real time mechanical and electrical incidences and their derived effects, allowing an optimal maintenance. • Promote good environmental practices, increasing environmental awareness.TRANSCRIPT
