Watching a movie – what to expect from now on…
Going to the movies – ain’t never going to be the same ever again. I recently experienced 4D
technology and was overwhelmed by the thought of the experience that movie going would soon turn
into. I watched a short demo based on the “Avengers” theme and as expected there was a lot of
action in it. Now, movie makers have decided that we need to be in the thick of the action and
obviously 3D is a minimum here. A few things that they have thought of – adding speakers to each
seat so that the sound effect is that much more close to you. There’s more – in a particularly tense
moment, when a villainous creature tries to pierce sharp claws into one of the characters, don’t be
alarmed if your seat suddenly squeezes your back. I for one was taken aback till I realized what was
going on. After all, you should understand what the action heroes go through all their lives even if it is
a stimulation! Finally, when the scene involved water, you can’t be left behind there too – the seats
are equipped with your own personal sprinkler that spring into action and douse you liberally with
water. It’s as real as it can get
I guess the movie makers decided that this is the next step in the evolution of movies. My sons and
action-loving husband loved it –as for me, the less said the better. I think there was too many
sensations to experience and savour and I definitely need to get used to that. At the same time, I did
feel a twinge of sadness when I thought about the good old 2D movie while marvelling at the
advances on the technology front. As I write this blog, I understand 5D and 6D movies are already
being talked about.
From black and white, silent movies , we sure have come a long way and guess anything is possible
the way technology is shaping. Also see more info @ http://www.prayag.com
