Also called the hydrologic cycle1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers,

and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes and heads upwards.

Condensation-Water droplets collects as clouds. The droplets gets heavier and thicker as the cloud prepares to rain.

Collection-Water runs on the land, collecting in rivers, lakes, and oceans.

THE STAGES OF THE WATER CYCLE

Page 3: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

The water cycle is the earths way of recycling water.

There are 4 stages of the water cycle

Evaporation is the FIRST stage in the water cycle.

RECYCLING WATER

The effects and factors of erosion and deposition..

Many know about the water cycle, but did you know the water cycle or hydrolic cycle, is the key factor to erosion

and deposition?

The water cycle helps erosion and deposition to create many land forms such as hills, and valleys.

REVIEW

Page 6: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

Erosion in the process in which water, wind, or even ice carries soil, rock, and other sediments away from its

current point.

In order for erosion to take place there are 3 key proccesses that must take place, they are detachment,

entrainment, and transport.

Death Valley, California is a great example in which erosion and depostion can easily be seen.

WHAT IS EROSION???

Page 7: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

Deposition is when erosion stops, and the particles are released from its transporting mediums and settle on a

surface.

Solar radiation, kinetic energy, and gravity also play a key factor, without them erosion and deposition can not take

place.

WHAT IS DEPOSITION???

Page 8: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

Its almost 50/50, without erosion we would not have much to look at in the world, and oceans and lakes might not be

as large or as deep.

But erosion can also cause catastrophes such as mudslides, landslides, and even avalanches.

But in the end its all an act of mother nature working its simple, yet complex cycle, and without it our world would

be completely different.

IS THIS BAD??

The dynamics of surface and groundwater movements..

Can be demenstrated by comparing its volume with the quantinty of water in other parts of the…. Hydrosphere.

IMPORTANCE OF GROUNDWATER

Page 11: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

The largest percent of water gets absorbed into the ground.

Recharge is the replenishment of an aquifer by the absorption of water.

Factors of where water gets distributed…

Amount of rainfall

Steepness of sloap

Amount of vegitation

WHERE WATER GOES…

Page 12: Water Cycle by Kevin Logan. Also called the hydrologic cycle 1.Evaporation of water from lakes, rivers, and oceans through wind heat and the sun, vapourizes

The process by which water is transferred to land to the atmosphere by evaporation from the soil and other surfaces

and by transpiration from plants is…………… EVAPOTRANSPORTATION…
