HISTORY VAN EGDOM A DUTCH FAMILY BUSINESS SINCE 1965

We are proud of having been one of the first suppliers who introduced waterslides in Europe. And over the past decades, we have gained a lot of knowledge, expertise and experience in building and creating water slides and water attractions.

Over the years we have extended our product line to the fullest. Our constant desire to innovate has put many new products on the market.

We produce all of our polyester slides and water attractions at our own factory in Emmeloord. This enables us to guarantee the highest quality, flexibility and after-sales service.Recently we founded Glijbaan Service Van Egdom, a cooperation between Van Egdom BV, Polyester Producten Emmeloord and the Dutch Keurmerk- instituut (Certification Institute) and is from now on your contact point for service, maintenance and inspection. This also ensures that your water attractions will meet the applicable standards.

The owner of Van Egdom Berend Klaassens, who is well in his eighties today, still works behind the scenes at Van Egdom and Polyester Producten Emmeloord. He gaines great respect from everyone at the company and the leisure industry for his knowledge, creativity and passion. Together with a deicated and experienced team of designers, engineers, mechanics and project managers, we can ensure the best and safest products for all our clients and their visitors.

We are now a proud market leader with more than 7500 completed projects in 55 countries.

B. KLAASSENSOWNER & CEO___

1965___

Family owned business Van Egdom was founded in 1965 and initially provided water filtration systems for swimming pools. When Berend Klaassens bought the company in 1977, the market was about to change.

Commercial swimming pool owners wanted to make their swimming pools more attractive to their guests. Berend, the then 42-year-old entrepreneur came from a technical background and having a very creative mind he started to create waterslides and water playgrounds. He introduced many new products into the market, such as water playgrounds, waterslides and other spectacular water attractions. Many of these new ideas started out as a sketch on the back of his little cigar box.

The first order for a waterslide came from Sport-huis Centrum, now Centerparcs. When the 35 metres long waterslide was built at Sporthuis Centrum Meerdal, it was a huge success and visitors stood in a long line to slide down it. Because of the huge success Van Egdom was asked to transform all their swimming pools into a subtropical waterparadise.

Van Egdom, with offices in de Meern and Emmeloord the Netherlands, is an international oriented company specialized in turn-key project development of water attractions. We are the only company left in the industry that has the unique combination of design, engineering, production and assembling of water attractions. This means that we have our own design and engineering combined with European high standard pro-duction of all (stainless) steel constructions and glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) elements.
