WHIMS WATERCOLOR QUILT KITSwas born from the idea that there could be a quicker, easier, high-quality, less expensive method of creating a watercolor quilt.

Since 1996, Whims has been a flourishing family-owned business serving the quilting community. CREATE A WHIMS WATERCOLOR QUILT:

How toSTEP 1: SELECTIONSelect your watercolor quilt kit! Kits come in a variety of styles and designs.

STEP 2: PREPARATIONUpon receipt, be sure to read instructions carefully and ensure that you have all the necessary materials.

STEP 3: DESIGNBegin laying your 2" squares out on to the Quilt Grid (see page 22 for more details).

STEP 4: FOLD & SEWUsing a hot iron, fuse fabric pieces down to the Quilt Grid. Begin the “Fold & Sew” process (see page 22).

STEP 5: APPLIQUÉUse Steam-A-Seam 2 to iron on applique designs (see page 39 for details).

STEP 6: QUILTChoose and apply borders, backing, batting and binding. Quilt, if desired. Detailed instructions are included in the kits.

4-STEP "FOLD & SEW" INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: PLACEMENT

Place kit squares on pre-marked Quilt Grid, following kit instructions.

STEP 2: FUSION

Fuse squares in place with hot iron and steam.

STEP 4: SEW!

Stitch all ¼" seams one direction. Press and repeat. Stitch all opposite seams. Press all.

STEP 3: FOLD

Fold Column 1 over Column 2, right sides together.

WHIMS RECOMMENDS using Quilt Grid to speed up the process of sewing the background squares together.

Using Whims Quilt Kits with Quilt Grid makes it easy for both beginners and advanced quliters to create a beautiful Watercolor Quilt!
