    Dear Mr Catchpole

Proposal: Reinstatement of play area Location: Wattisfield Community Centre, The Street, Wattisfield, Diss, IP22 1NR

Thank you for your letter dated 17th July 2007. We have discussed this matter at some length and as you say, I am familiar with the site and the proposed works. With that in mind, I am content that what was discussed can be completed on your behalf by Wattisfield Community Centre and Recreation Ground Committee without a requirement for a formal planning application. I will however await copies of plans from the WCC&RGC before I confirm that the works can go ahead.

I will direct all future correspondence regarding the matter to Ann Telford on behalf of WCC&RGC, although I will copy you in on any correspondence where it is considered necessary. .

    Yours sincerely ,

    Tom Barker Planning Officer

    Dear Mr. Barker.

Watti sficld Play Area - Permitted Development C ase Reference No. 1119/07

Please lind enclosed an inform at ion pack about the Wauis ficld Play Area \\ hich we plan to instal l on the Wauis fi eld Recreation Ground. for your perusal and approval.

At our last meetin g you saw tou r play area des igns from different companies . These plans were then prese nted lO the village at two consultative meet ings in No vember. The meetings were identi cal but were held on a Friday eve ning and Saturday mornin g to a llow as much access as possibl e [Q Watt isti eld village rs.

Every attendee had the opportunity to vote for the company of their cho ice and to fill in questionnaires. All of that co llated data was analysed and further discussions took place with the chose n design compa ny, Monster Play. This plan is the final result .

The chose n colour scheme is ' Woodland'; a co lour chart is enclosed with the pack. As my previous email: the fencin g is planned 10 be in unpainted galvanized metal as that blend s in with our parti cular local rural area fencing. The gates me planned to be in red, agai n choice was based on local exa mples and we have been adv ised thai red gates are probably the better choice for the visually impaired .

A growing number of municipalities, school distncts and private developers are requmnq some level of LEED certification for their projects under development. Many of these projects, schools and community centers for example , include play areas for children

    22 February 2008

    Dear Ann,

Proposal: Installation of play area equipment Location: Wattisfield Community Centre, The Street, Wattisfield, Diss, IP22 1NR

I refer to your information pack received 6th February 2008 and our subsequent email correspondence.

The plans provided show all structures to be below 4m in height and show the play area in the correct location. With that in mind I am writing to confirm that there would not be a requirement for planning permission as long as the works are completed in accordance with your letter and enclosures received 6th February 2008.

You appear to have been very thorough with respect to community involvement. This has enabled our discussions to be fully informed and I would hope this process has been helpful in respect of your final design . I also hope that our fairly extensive discussions have helped the process and provided benefits in terms of the chosen design.

I have copied this letter to the Parish Council for information .

I hope this information is of use. Should further assistance be required, please feel free to contact me. You will appreciate these comments are made in response to your informal enquiry and do not prejudice any decision the Council may make upon receipt of a formal application.

    Yours sincerely,

    Tom Barker Planning Officer
